  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 08:12 AM) ESPN's Marc Stein said Thursday that there is a growing sense among NBA executives that the Magic will trade Dwight Howard before the season starts. The new CBA has taken away a good amount of the players' power to play where they want to play, but not completely, and has also given incentive to teams to make trades sooner rather than later if they want to get value for their exiting stars. This is not a hard report, but more opinion from an insider that is well-connected. If anything, we may get to avoid using puns like 'Melodrama' this year. Typical ESPN... the "created news" leader. Hey, if you arent out in front of the pack with created leads, then you are behind the pack sitting on 8 year old stories that you arent required to report. it cannot be both. oh wait

i love everything about J4ls post except his unwarranted shot at cream soda. For that i say f*** you J4L
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I just heard on the way home that Laurie Fine was sleeping with players since the 1980's...and the third victim apparently shared a bed with both Laurie and Bernie. Im just waiting for a picture of her back in the 80s so I can say "Ok, that makes sense. She was (cute, hot, milf-ish, semi attractive, worth it, pick your adjective). Because I keep seeing the deadspin picture where she looks like Elizabeth Taylor circa 1999 and thinking "OMG what was wrong with those players?!!?!"
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) You could add Butler to that list too, and Jason Terry has been consistently solid. But yes, they had Dirk and a lot of solid role players. That team is pretty much impossible to build for most franchises though. Just look at the size of all of those contracts, and they don't win that ring without still adding Tyson Chandler on top of those guys. absolutely, I dont think it is a feasible plan to shoot for. It was just a 1 superstar team that popped in my head when bmags asked
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) The last 10 years has there been a single team with only 1 superstar, or at least...star? Basically we only have the pistons with Billups, but Wallace was far and away the best d center at the time. You could argue the Mavs last season only had Dirk as a true superstar. Kidd, Marion and Peja all could be considered former superstars, but they were really just there for the Dirk show last season.
  6. QUOTE (Greyone @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) Just a question, can they still block the Bears now, they are the division leader while the Bears are a second place team. I would think now the Bears come before them, but I'm just speculating. Last week they could because the Bears were one game ahead of them.'m not so sure this week. Schefter stated bears are 24th in priority and Cowboys are 21st based on SOS
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) Is it an outright release, or waived. there's a difference. And no, I dont want him. He's bad. Not that McCown is any better, but no point in brining in another bad backup. i believe all players have to pass through waivers after the trade deadline, and pretty much every comment from the talking heads on twitter mention that the Cowboys can block the Bears
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 04:15 AM) Holy good god. That lucky son of a b****. and thats a post baby body too. Smokin
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) From Rotoworld: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings are set to release QB Donovan McNabb on Thursday. Bears? Sportscenter is certainly theorizing that is the case. Im not too interested. Plus, you would think the Cowboys would block again
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 08:25 AM) Does Howard have any interest in Chicago? Then #2 could Chicago put together some sort of a reasonable deal for him without gutting the team Miami/NYK style? There have been a couple rumors here and there that Dwight wants to play in Chicago, and that he doesnt want to be "Shaq-lite/Shaq pt 2" in LA. But rumors are rumors, and money talks. Hopefully the Bulls can play with the big boys and go get him, because Rose and Dwight for 5+ years with each other makes me all warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) Actually it is fairly simple now. The audio editing programs out there are pretty amazing. not that amazing
  12. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 05:40 AM) My point is accuser supplied evidence is always suspect. Switch around the questions from what was actually asked, drop a few words here and there, and it can say something completely different. If it was merely a written transcript, sure. Did you listen to the call? I doubt even a movie sound editor could have put that together much less a former ball boy
  13. sorry, but thats pretty weak
  14. And I did state it was rumor, im not saying it will happen. It is on Realgm
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) That would be amazingly awesome, but sounds ridiculously unlikely. agreed. One would have to think that would be a predecessor to Deng being moved if it happened
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) Not hindsight family has been a season ticket holder since 1981.....................Turner and Zook both ran clean vanilla programs for the most part.............Illini need to get someone that will excite fanbase and a buzz in recruiting. Time to hit the homerun for once! LOL the reason he said that is because you said you hope Leach gets a look 4 posts after someone said Leach accepted the job at Washington State
  17. Steve done made a mess of another thread. someone get a mop rumors i have read today Bulls interested in Battier, Butler, TJ Ford Also rumor that Bulls are trying to get Granger for Asik and pieces
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) Such as her statements about wanting the dick...it's pretty clear what was being discussed here. exactly, things like saying Bernie needed to get a gay boy and how he had something(an attraction specifically) for the victim. It is really hard to say that she was talking about anything but what Fine is being accused of.
  19. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) I'm a little uncomfortable with that recording. There are erased portions and who knows how it may have been edited. Not saying he didn't do it, or that it isn't necessarily not valid, but it isn't 100% reliable. I agree that it could be edited and parts erased and things arranged to make it look more heinous than it would appear, but there are a lot of very direct statements and replies in that recording that are extremely specific about what she knows happened.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) Was 2007 that long ago? yes. yes it is
  21. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) http://basketball.about.com/od/nba-vs-nbap...t-Contracts.htm It's a one-time option, but can be used any year in the CBA. hmm, my friend was telling me that this also is limited to contracts signed before the current CBA as well. So the Bulls theoretically couldnt sign JRich to a 4 year contract and amnesty/waive the contract the following season.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) f*** Duke. I'm so tired of the ESPN hype machine for them. It must be really tough to recruit when you have loaded schedules and a national cable network pimping you 24/7. Anyone see too that ESPN has a "national college basketball blog" and a "north carolina blog?" What the f*** is that about? cough*theheatindex*cough
  23. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 07:28 AM) I didn't see it, I am only reading this excerpt. It sounds like he is saying he doesn't know of any, but realizes an investigation might show what happened while he was in charge. And investigating people that work under you is probably not his omost people's jobs. I keep thinking about people that I supervised and would I have known what they do in their off time. A real world analogy to a head basketball coach just doesnt apply. These people are together 24/7/365. Recruiting, planning, coaching, games, practices. All the time. Plus, he has been with Fine for 36 years. Dont you think it would be odd to you that someone you know insisted that these kids room with them everytime you go on a road trip? Seems odd to me
  24. Paulina Gretzky is f***ing hot. That is all
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) I am not a martz fan, but clearly more than 1 receiver that can run a route AND catch the ball, would be more ideal for that offense. I understand the personnel is not the best in the WR department, but we see many examples week in week out where he totally outsmarts himself and goes away from the true weapon of the offense, his running backs. He ran Forte 12 times and Barber 10 times against Oakland. If the quarterback is rattled and throwing stupid interceptions, and as you say the wide receivers suck, then why run a pass happy offense? And it isn't as if this is the first time he pulled that s*** and it cost the Bears.
