QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) Am I the only one who wants to keep EJAX? Yesterdays start aside, the guy has nasty stuff. Sure he sucks sometimes, so does everyone on the staff. The sox lack a true ace. If Boras wasnt his agent, I would be all about trying to keep him. However, Boras is going to take him to the open market and attempt to get him paid next season. The White Sox do not compete on the open market with Boras clients, they never have. So at this point, it is about getting something of value from him as opposed to letting him walk and hopefully getting a decent draft pick. But then again, draft picks havent been much of a boon for the White Sox, with a few exceptions here and there

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) The fielding percentage is surprising, considering we have Pierre and Teahen on the team. A.J.'s no defensive wizard either. I thought aside from throwing, AJ was supposed to be one of the better defensive catchers in the game.

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) I honestly can't tell if that was an off-handed dig or not, and excuse me if I thought it was and I'm incorrect. I'm just a big fan of films that force me to stretch my imagination. I love movies like City of Lost Children and Pan's Labyrinth (as an easy one). Even just that quick bit in It's Kind of a Funny Story where the perspective flies through the city that the main character drew in his art class - love it. True escapism in a film. Not at all, I like the movie as well. I throw a lot of different movies from my childhood at my daughter(she is 10, 11 in September) and she usually likes the stuff I liked, we just watched "A Princess Bride" together for the first time and she was really into it. I am a big fan of anything Henson, and some of the darker Henson works like Mirrormask and The Dark Crystal are my favorites. Have you watched Imaginarium yet? Tom Waits is pretty awesome. I still cant decide if Lily Cole is hot. Her body is amazing, her face looks like a porcelain doll

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) I think the whole concept of the dream world was pretty neat. The music and visuals really did carry the movie as, like you said, the acting wasn't very good, but I was really just in it for the visuals anyway. Sometimes I pick out a movie just for the artistic visuals. On that, my next movie on the list is The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Has anyone seen it? Another related note: I absolutely LOVE Mirrormask. It melts my face off, highly suggest it. If you liked Mirrormask, then you should like Imaginarium, they have similar alternate realities. My daughter loves Mirrormask, I have rented it for her a few times

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) I'd rather that they have a remake, then to continue on without Raimi and Campbell. Both are involved, Raimi producing and Campbell is supposed to be in the movie http://screenrant.com/evil-dead-4-confirme...tor-rob-123122/

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) They're re-making The Evil Dead. I read it isnt a remake, but rather Part 4

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) The only ones he really dealt or wrote off quickly were Cabrera (who was already a FA) and Swisher. Look how long he held onto Javy. MacDougal. Linebrink way too long. Teahen. Tony Pena. Contreras after his last Sox contract. He had dealt guys like Julio Ramirez where there was very little financial risk....D'Angelo Jimenez, Lofton, etc. But very rarely when he's given up something significant in acquiring aforementioned player. And undoubtedly he was backed into a position of weakness where he got the lowest possible return on Swisher after buying at the highest possible value. If he didn't give a shi-, then there was absolutely no reason 4 weeks ago NOT to AT LEAST TRY Viciedo and see if he'd catch fire. Ramirez could have hit leadoff. Pierre's value wouldn't have been affected in the least. In fact, we're not going to get anything for him if he plays everyday for the next 15 days or doesn't play at all. he held on to Javy one year after he had a great year(07). Then he ditched him. MacDougal was up and down from the minors trying to get his head straight. Linebrink and Teahen have contracts that make them pretty hard to move, and Contreras did too. Pena is the only one I agree with

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) My boy David Lighty signed a 2 year contract in italy and has to stay at least one year. He is a prime example of a player that would have signed a training camp contract in the NBA and has instead take the cash in Europe. when he returns, is he considered an UDFA? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 01:21 PM) Hmm. I wonder what that list looks like. I would assume there are a lot of swears and red marker on that list. Maybe a meme or two

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) None. That's why I said "creative" ways to trade. I think Jackson and Quentin for Rasmus would be idiotic. Jackson must be a headcase cause he still has good stuff (I guess Cooper can't fix this one) and Quentin is a good player. well please, be creative and show us how it could work

Haha, the puma back to centerfield. Then the cardinals can have the biggest raking lineup in the NL Central, and the worst UZR Outfield in the known history of man

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) I wonder if we'll see blonde, metallic Batman replacement, haha. I loved that whole storyline way, way too much. I dont know if Nolan would be able to bring in Jean-Paul Valley, although that would be crazy

I like Rickie Weeks, but huge mistake picking him over hometown favorite Upton

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) I never said that though. All I said is I don't think that he puts in an insane amount of hours... so much that it doesn't leave him time to post here. Hell I put in WAY more than 40 hours a week on my job and I'll drop a line or 2 every once in a while. I bet others here do too. Maybe it is just overload of white sox. We are fans, to us this is fun(well, sometimes). This is his job. I think if I had his job my time on this messageboard would be severely limited. We saw Ranger over the offseason. My point is, you dont know his work schedule and claiming that you work more than him therefore he should post more than he currently does is off base.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Are you being sarcastic? You probably but in way more hours in a work week than he does. Hell I know I do. He'll probably come around when they start winning. This is not true. He does more than just host the pre and post game shows. I would guess he puts in minimum 8 hours a day at the station depending on what event is going on at the time. He also hosts weekend shows. You dont have to like what he says but you dont just show up and flop down in your chair 5 minutes before you go on air to have his job, there is a lot of work, research, and interviewing.
