QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) No apologies here you should change that flag to "Go Crede"

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Joe Crede is working his magic in Twinkie land while Fields is plowed under MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins manager Ron Gardenhire tried to find the words to describe what he had just witnessed on Wednesday night. And well, forgive him if he couldn't exactly come up with a way to summarize the Twins' 14-10 walk-off victory over the Tigers that ended after four hours and 48 minutes with Joe Crede's two-out pinch-hit grand slam in the 13th inning. oh yay. now this

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) KW gets fired up at fans at Soxfest Q &As. At least he used to. I haven't gone the past couple of years. I am fully aware that KW has an ego. My point is that he fits right in with plenty of GMs, if not most. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) Do you really believe that he's the best GM in baseball and is beyond questioning, ever? However, I am very much elated to see that someone is keeping track of the general "tone and tenor" of my thousands of postings about KW. Did I say that? Please point that out. Do you honestly read this stuff back to yourself and say "Yep, this fits in with the conversation" wtf? -
57 strikes in 108 pitches? Man, his location is shot. he may not have given up runs, but I dont think major league players are going to let him off the hook with all of those walks like the AAA teams will

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 13, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Fail on two accounts: 1. Sizemore is proven to be 10x the player Josh will ever be. 2. I never said K's were the reason he's a bust. K's factor in, but in today's game, you gotta look past K's a lot of times. Also, they are both at 39. why did you use it as part of your title then?

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Ricciardi actually participates in a fan call-in show on Toronto radio, as alluded to by Kyle here, and ARGUES with the fans! You want to talk about a guy with an ego? was it Ricciardi that sent an email to a fan pretty much telling him to STFU? i know it has happened twice in the past year, with two different sports( i think it was an NFL front office guy that did it as well) and I am pretty sure it was Ricciardi that did it, shortly after his Dunn comments -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) Kicked my dog? GMAB back. I've been one of the bigger defenders and cheerleaders of KW through the last 2-3 seasons. Yes, I think there are better ones out there, but there are many more that are worse. Name me another GM whose quotes are in the papers more often about silly things like Frank Thomas and "pitching inside" to opposing players? He's a smart guy, but he can't get out of his own way sometimes...but I'll wait for your list of the GM's with bigger egos. I'll give you Billy Beane and Theo Epstein, who else? JP Ricciardi/Adam Dunn, Jim Bowden while with the Nats and Cinci was pretty outspoken, Omar Minaya is a daily quote in any NY paper and save your "i was his biggest cheerleader" speech, you havent been on ST very long and you have already written three novels on KW and they have gradually turned on him, and now he has the biggest ego ever and kicked your dog. so GMAB back to you Oh, so now you think Dombrowski and Shapiro are part of the outspoken/too much facetime group too? Since when does facial recognition have anything to do with the issue? Plenty of GMs are unrecognizable to most of the public, they are front office people. That doesnt mean they dont talk to the papers and get their opinions out there -
I am fully expecting the chat silent treatment. Maybe Kal will talk to me. Probably not SSI, I was thinking of an Emperor scene earlier today, you read my mind, lol

QUOTE (shipps @ May 13, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) Greg Anthony ripped him a new one a year or so ago when he was on Cold Pizza on virtually every topic they discussed. He made Skip look like a f***ing idiot. I couldnt believe Anthony was so informed and intelligent. I dont think he got to do the show with Bayless again after that. I remember when Greg Anthony did the same thing to Steven A Smith when they were both on the TNT pregame show for the NBA playoffs during Dwyane Wade's rookie year. Smith spent so much time talking about how the Heat didnt have a chance against the Hornets and really talking down about them, and Anthony was really calm and collected and very informed about the whole situation, and when Miami went and took the series, they cut back to the studio and steven A smith was VISIBLY embarrassed and turning red, and Anthony took it to another level. I like Greg Anthony, the guy is cool under pressure -
aww man, now steve is going to have unbridled resentment towards me.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) Well, despite the chicanery and tomfoolery today: KW, having the biggest ego of all GM's west of the NESN broadcasting area, WON'T ever admit that the failure of the team has anything to do with the overall talent level of the team or that he believed they wouldn't compete for the AL Central title in 2009. The question is, who will blow up first if this year trends into another 2007, Ozzie or KW? I would rather have Steve Stone as the GM, personally, and I wouldn't mind seeing Ozzie stick around to manage the new generation of Sox players over the next 2-3 years and see how he does with a team that's more suited for his managerial style: players like Nix, Getz, Ramirez, Allen and Beckham, mixing in the power of Flowers/Viciedo and the speed/athleticism of Danks/Shelby. GMAB, KW is no different from any other GM in the game, we just are exposed to every little thing he says, quit acting like he kicked your dog. -
For a little background on this story, Bayless made an outrageous claim about Philly fans being violent and dangerous and a philly ESPN radiohost(Missanelli) completely blows him up on the air regarding his lack of research http://950espn.com/Audio/tabid/183/article...ip-Bayless.aspx I love how Bayless tries to bigtime him and act like he is better than him, lol

I had family in C'dale for graduation, and they were at Creekside partying and watched a huge tree get uprooted from the rear end side of the apt building. And they said on the way out of town every power line they saw was down. Unreal, these types of storms are crazy

Well, it is USC. Im not surprised in the least

QUOTE (rangercal @ May 10, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) Hard to believe about half of NBA fans compared Lebron and Carmelo back in 2003. It was at least kind of justified. Melo basically put Syracuse on his back and won a national championship, LeBron was infinitely ahead of anyone in his age group in high school, but never got to face a higher level of competition like Melo. It looks kind of ridiculous now, and thats not to say Melo is a bad player at all, its just that LeBron is that damn great
