  1. I just watched the finale, and that was f***ing hilarious. "Most of you know about the two types of lesbians: the hot kind you see on cinemax making love with other hot women, and the mean kind. Mrs (forgothername) is neither of those."

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 03:55 PM) I think Year One looks hilarious. Harold Ramis is normally hit/miss though, so we'll see. I cracked up at Cain and Abel "NOOOOO, Your name is SUCK!"
  3. Honestly, i think this is all media conjecture. There is no way that Ozzie puts BA at the top, there is no need for it, there are much more capable hitters in the lineup. Ozzie knows this, he is just throwing as much crap at the wall to feed the media beast and they ran with it again. No need to get worked up about this
  4. I am stoked to see Tool, Janes, and the Killers
  5. I am surprised this has lasted so long in the Diamond Club with its filibustery nature
  6. Schilling wont be a Cub. Oh Noes
  7. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Is it possible that Betemit is starting to match what scouts once saw in him? His bat seems better than a bench player. I think you are catching a glimpse of what the braves saw for a brief second. The guy has flashed it before, but he hasnt been able to be consistent
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) I remember watching the Olympic baseball games online, and more specifically seeing this guy pitch, and even on just my computer screen, his stuff really stood out and jumped out at you. I would think he has to be the #1 draft pick. Didn't Washington offer Mark Texiera a ton of money? I would think if they are willing to do that, they'll pay the ranson to make Strasburg a part of their organization. Isnt Washington the same organization that failed to sign Aaron Crow over 900K? Why would they suddenly change their tune presented with the exact same situation, except now they have to pay an ungodly sum now instead of being apart by a million bucks?
  9. I like how Rick Hahn told Cowley that his sources stink
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) The Sox have signed Kenny Powers to help in the bullpen. As long as Clegg is the bullpen catcher I am cool with it
  11. I was just thinking that the thread title is something Nuke would have appreciated

    Dreams

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) To a large degree, I'm usually in control of the dreams I'm having just before I wake up. I'm vaguely aware I'm dreaming and i usually try very hard not to wake up so whatever absurd thing happening in the dream can be resolved. With only one or two exceptions, I've never been able to get back into a dream once I wake up and lose the thread of it. Probably the oddest dream I ever had was as a real little kid. In the dream I learned that electricity from wall sockets actually worked because there was FIRE inside the walls of houses and buildings and when you plugged in a plug the fire heated it up and gave you electricity. That's weird on its own, but the dream then went on to reveal that the reason there was fire in all the walls was that the inside of the walls were all directly connected to HELL underneath the ground. The take-home message of the dream was that under no circumstances should you knock holes in walls because if you did then THE DEVIL could come through the holes and get you and drag you to hell. I think that dream focked me up for like 5 years. The first really vivid sex dream I ever had was early on in high school and it involved Annie Lennox letting me do dirty things with her in the hillside seating at a concert at Alpine Valley. Very weird. Sweet Dreams are made of this.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) Rookie of the Year candidate?

I had a crazy dream when I was a kid that my parents had an alligator pit surrounding their bed, however the alligators were pets and therefore ok to be around. Of course one of them did not like me and grabbed me when they were in the other room, and I had this crazy split screen view where I was being dragged under the bed and my parents were in the next room, but they couldnt hear me screaming. Pretty terrifying for a 5 year old kid
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) The early 4th quarter last night was as painful to watch as it gets, as the Bulls starters were run off the floor in pathetic fashion by the Lakers bench. It's one thing to get beat by Kobe, but they should be ashamed for what happened last night, as Los Angeles made a 21-6 run with 4 bench players on the floor and Kobe on the bench. The worst part to me is that when the Lakers stepped out to a 10 point lead in like a minute and a half, Vinny didnt even call a TO to stop it, he let Farmar hit another 3 to push the lead to 13 before he called a timeout. And it was just one bad decision after another, Gordon traveled, threw the ball away to the lakers under their own basket, got trapped and gave it up. Rose tried to dribble behind his back, dropped it, got trapped, threw it away. Miller missed at least 3 bunnies. And then the lakers run the same drop screen for Farmar and Vujucic and the Lakers started hitting 3s like there was no tomorrow. It was an UGLY last 10 minutes of that game
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) You probably thought this was the best post you ever made on soxtalk while you were making it. 2nd best in his world. The first one has to be the "Steve is #1" thread Rock on Steve, I am with you on your prediction

  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) I seem to recall Corg mentioning something along the lines of the diminished skills clause not actually existing because it was just some propaganda put out by the media/front office and that Thomas's entire contract was guaranteed. He had seen his contract, and no where in the contract was this supposed diminished skills clause. I just caught a little bit of that in the threads that I browsed. Whatever it was, it was laughably preposterous. I could only imagine if someone landed on this site and started popping off some of the things that Corg did. That person would be spit out in minutes
  21. I am fairly positive that the solution is to do nothing because it will never get better.
  22. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) Sure, it's not like he needed a crystal ball to nail that one. Right. It wasnt like that one time when he was in the room when the declining skills clause was written
  23. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) Well, Bartolo really did become a big tub of goo. Does that count? not really, because he always was one
  24. Did Corg ever say anything that was considered outrageous, but actually came true?
  25. Prior had or still has a loop in his delivery that causes immense torque on his elbow up through his shoulder. When you see his windup in a picture, you can see the "W" shape of his arms. His mechanics were far from perfect, and he didnt want to listen to anyone(which was constantly reported at the time). It is funny how now he says that he was trying to listen to everyone to fix his problems, yet nothing ever changed and he still looked the same. And it is interesting that Tom House is quoted up and down that article and still will not admit the problems, and Prior at no point in that article mentions or supports what House says.
