  1. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) The Carlos Quentin situation is no way comparable to the failed Brian Anderson experiment. At the time the Diamondbacks traded away Quentin to the White Sox, they had a crowded outfield. Kenny was savvy enough to snatch one of their surplus outfield pieces, and it just happened to be the one the Sox organization projected to have the best potential: Quentin. If anything, I compare the way the Diamondbacks gave up Quentin to how we traded Chris Young to the Diamondbacks. As for Brian Anderson, he's more comparable to Felix Pie, and it's sad how no one realizes it. Brian Anderson would probably benefit from a change of scenery by being traded to another team. Comparing Anderson to Quentin is apples and oranges. And my point is that you undervalue Brian Anderson. Sorry you are so down on him, but I think he has a chance to be something respectable in this league, and on this team.
  2. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) wow Yeah, that kind of "giving up on a player" got Carlos Quentin shipped to Chicago a year ago
  3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) He's also coming off of his best season. I say give him a chance. I am pretty sure the Bears are going to be pretty conservative when giving out chances to folks like this. They have been burned pretty badly in the last 4 years
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) As a Cub, Edmonds was a lot less of a pompous ass clown then he had been earlier in his career. I think he's humbled. He can still hit, field, and has decent leadership skills, the guy just can't run very well anymore. which is something that should be taken into consideration considering the position he would be playing
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) http://deadspin.com/5170729/matt-jones-rel...-jaguars-roster Matt Jones released from the Jags. With the Bears complete lack of talent at WR, I hope they consider him With his alcohol and coke problems, I really hope they do not consider him. This guy is one incident away from missing a season
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) this has been a pretty solid series. its a shame that the season finale is next week. hopefully it gets picked up for another season. Jeez, since when did 6 episodes constitute a season? FOTC got 13 episodes last year
  7. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) Hamels, Braun, Mauer, Pedroia all have injury concerns early Did this happen last night? He was playing with the US team in the WBC
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) I've done it a few times, Bad Religion opened for Pearl Jam, Quicksand opened for the Deftones (I actually didn't stay to see the Deftones) Bad Religion was around WAY before Pearl Jam
  9. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) I'll check out the openers too. You're right, I've discovered a lot of cool bands that way. Who are some cool bands you guys have seen as openers?....... Who are some that went on to make it big? I saw Incubus open for 311 in 1997. They were touring off their album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. which, to date, is still their best and most creative effort(imo). But they were NOTHING when they were on that tour and they hit it pretty big
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) The last 2 words the Phillies wanted to hear together... "Hamels. Elbow". those power changeups definitely like to mess with the elbows
  11. QUOTE (Texsox @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) We only have term limits at the Federal level for President. Are they trying to be more or less like the US? Im pretty sure Chavez is emulating Nixon from the movie Watchmen. Totally US
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 10:04 AM) Soccer is a lot like my love life. Meandering and pointless with frequent flops and red flags every so often. Why would I ever want to watch this during my free time? So you are saying that your love life is a waste of your free time? lol, it was there for me, sitting on a tee
  13. Stallworth looks like he is more or less f***ed. BAC over the limit
  14. After the last meeting between Cutler and McDaniels, Cutler decided he wants nothing to do with the Broncos anymore and has had his agent request a trade. Somebody hold whitesoxbrian back
  15. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) I assume she gave him animal tranquilizers. Don't people party with those? The majority of the TOOL album Aenema is about doing horse tranquilizers and ketamine etc. People definitely party with that stuff
  16. My favorite part was when he said he wanted the oxycontin for later and Clegg the Bartender spit the pill in his hand because he already put it in his mouth as he was walking away. The "break-up" scene with Stevie and Kenny was funny too, as well as Stevie showing up with the roid syringe out of nowhere April gets hotter every episode I finally remembered where Clegg came from, In the movie Superbad he is the guy on the couch who laughs at Jonah Hill for having the period stain on his pants
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) I'm just a big fan of his story, and his story makes me realize even with all of the country's problems, it's still the best damn country in the world. LOL. ok

    QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) If I leave around 2pm, I should just go 94 to 90, right? I hate back roads. What time do you need to be there? There arent really backroads that you will get lost in. Its all really wide open you can see the Sears center from the Rte 59 exit and get there without needing the road names to find your way. Plus, if there is an event im sure they will have security guiding people in.

    QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) Looking for the fastest way to the Sears Centre on Tuesday. Mapquest and those sites send me through all these back roads. Thought it would be easier to get to 90 West and run into it. Anyone? Its right off the IL90 Route 59 exit. The backroads it is listing are probably the little roads running around the Prairie Rock business park. If you exit at 59 you drive towards Rte 72(Higgins) and its there on your left off columbine blvd
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) Wasn't Bartolo supposed to pitch also? I thought Bart goes tomorrow
