  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 2, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) Wood as a reliever is actually a horrible fit stats wise. Throughout his career, the one consistent thing about Wood has been he struggles in the first 25-30 pitches of his outings because it takes him time to find his bearings, and he struggles with control. That's a stat that been true throughout his decade or so in the majors, and when you've been around that long, the stats don't lie. where can you find that stat?

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ May 2, 2008 -> 09:54 AM) Iron Man was excellent. I would recommend it to any super hero geeks. P.S. Be sure to stay after ALL of the credits. That means the animated ones as well as the regular ones. You get a nice little treat at the end. A type treat?
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 2, 2008 -> 07:30 AM) i'm not blaming anyone for anything, i just can't believe the guy finally gets into ST and then suddenly hurts himself significantly enough to miss opening day and, ultimately, the entire first month of the season what kind of injury is it anyway, and how far along until he's ready to start platooning with uribe at 2B? This is off of his Yahoo player page. Im pretty sure its his back ribs, not his chest ribs, he was complaining his back hurt when he swung a bat
  4. It really makes you wonder how dumb some people really are. This guy probably thought that the bank had 360 billion in cash at the bank.
  5. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 1, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) They're still there. Hmm, I loaded the page once and it was blank under the article, I do it again and they are back. Wierd

QUOTE (Brian @ May 1, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) I just thought it was a fable themes episode, not necessarily a PB spoof. Can't believe that will be the NBC finale nex....wait, taking to Scrubs thread. Especially since Princess Bride is somewhat of a spoof itself
  7. LOL, Renneke has thin skin. the comments have all been taken down. Nice job Soxtalk
  8. Noooooo, his ridiculous OBP isnt unique at all
  9. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ May 1, 2008 -> 12:17 PM) Anyone think MVP could be champion within the year? Heres a list of my fav. wrestlers: 1. Chris Jericho - Good theme, Good wrester, Submission 2. Benoit - Good theme, Good Wrestler, Submission 3. Kurt Angle - Good theme, Good wrestler, Submission 4. Shawn michaels - Good theme, Good Wrestler, Submission (Sharpshooter) 5. RVD - Good Theme, Good Wrestler, Not really submission 6. MVP - Good Theme, Good Wrestler, No submission (as far as I know) I think if MVP could create a good submission hold, like the angle lock, crossface, walls of jericho, sharpshooter, he could really become of the elk of these competitors... I think RVD had the same problem as MVP does with the submission moves. Submission moves are so fun to incorporate into the match, especially when the submission means something like the Walls of Jericho, or Cross face etc. I duno maybe im thinking weirdly, it just seems almost all of my favorite to watch wrestlers have a submission, and a good style/theme/look. Jericho/Benoit/Michaels all sport the colorful long pants. MVP, RVD, and Angle had the colorful suit. Good lord I think this is the longest post I have ever seen from you. I think MVP is on the verge of getting a major push. He is getting a good reputation for being a student of the industry and he is really good at being a heel. He has been fun to watch and I never took my eyes off of him during the MITB ladder match at Mania. I really thought he was going to win that, although Im not upset at how he lost it, I like the rivalry that him and Matt Hardy had developed.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 1, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) absolutely cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye edit: lol, never realized how harsh that saying actually is until I wrote it out. That's crazy As long as you promise all that, Im on board.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 1, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) 1 month of the season has passed, the Sox are 5th in the AL in runs scored, and they are averaging 5.6 runs a game. But yeah, this team with Quentin, Swisher, Cabrera, a healthy Crede, and a healthy JD (who still has an .800 OPS even with his struggles the past few games) is the same as a lineup with Erstad, Podsednik, Andy Gonzalez, Luis Terrero, Gustavo Molina, Alex Cintron, and Jerry Owens. Right. The only two players from last year's team who would be beneficial to this year's lineup that haven't left the organization are Fields and Richar. Please folks, stop comparing the 2007 lineup to the 2008 lineup. I know it will be done again, just as the 2007 lineup was compared to the 2005 lineup several times thoughout the course of the year last year, but please, please, please stop. They aren't the same and they won't be the same. I promise. Pinkie swear?
  12. Sorry for your loss as well. My grandmother was a wisp when she passed away, but her coffin was HEAVY. Thats the only thing I can say about being a pall bearer, be prepared to do some heavy lifting, despite the amount of people helping you
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) I would have loved to have Fields pinch hit for Thome against Reyes today. I would love to have Fields on the team. He can play third to give Crede a rest, DH against lefties, play the outfied once in a while. He would be a nice bat to have on the bench. He's already spent two years in AAA, he's done all he can in the minors. He cant play outfield, That experiment is over. Until there is room on the team and playing time for fields, he will continue to do all he can in the minors. They arent going to bring him up to spot start for Crede and give Thome a rest once in a while
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) You've apparently never been to South Dakota. A+

Another new trailer for the Incredible Hulk. I couldnt find the embed code anywhere for this, otherwise I would have posted it. I think its gonna be a cool movie
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) Indeed it is and it will definitly be getting all my attention now because RockStar sucks. From what I've played thus far, it's the best in the series, which is really saying something. My neighbor brought it over and we both played it for over an hour, its everything I wanted and more. The wii wheel is way better than I thought it would be, it isnt over sensitive or under sensitive. The new tracks are awesome, the old ones are just like I remembered them, the motorcycles are a fun twist on the game. Its just a great game
  17. MarioKart Wii is f***ing awesome. That is all
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 07:30 PM) From the Trib: The Sox were 12-11 in April 2007 en route to a 90-loss season. But the pitchers and hitters are maintaining their confidence that better days are ahead. “Once everything clicks, it’s going to be even more dangerous because we’re in every game,” catcher Toby Hall said. And of course it is the exact same team, with the exact same injury situations. Well, we might as well call it a season, because Nick Masset blew this season for the Sox today for sure.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) Rather than argue with you and bore everybody else, I won't respond to your personal attacks. If you could convince me Masset had a quality start today, I'd listen. Four innings is not a quality start. If he is your next door neighbor, I apologize. personal attacks? whatever, you keep insisting Im his brother or relative, it has nothing to do with it. I had realistic expectations of his start, 4-5 innings, keep the team in the game, which he did. it was a spot start, he isnt in the rotation
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) I keep repeating the line because it is not a quality start. I'm lumping him in with some other guys as one of the reasons we lost. Go back to writing in haiku, it makes me laugh more. Your posts just arent structured today
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) How many times does it seem like the Sox get shut down when some other team pitches some guy you've never heard of? Seems like a lot. Then we go with Masset. You think we'd get a good outing? How about four innings, five hits, three walks. Not great. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Kyle, Masset pitched four innings and walked three guys and gave up five hits. Are you a member of his fan club or something? QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) You think Masset going four innings and giving up five hits and three walks is SOMETHING? Give me a f***ing break. Seriously, are you a relative of Masset? What's your problem? If you said Thornton pitched well that might be different. Two innings, no hits, four strikeouts. Masset's line is a joke for a starting pitcher. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:47 PM) Okay, he gave the Sox something. Four innings, five hits and three walks. For you to suggest that is close to a decent start is wrong. I stand my my statement he gave the Sox nothing. If it makes you feel better I'll amend it to "little to nothing." anyone hear an echo in here?
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) Benoit Phone Calls released I dont even want to click that link.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Kyle, Masset pitched four innings and walked three guys and gave up five hits. Are you a member of his fan club or something? You keep repeating his pitching line as if it matters. The game was tied when he left. Masset had nothing to do with the loss.
  24. My problem is i have to read you b**** and moan about a spot starter who didnt have a hand in the team losing the game. I never said anyone pitched well or bad. YOU said Masset gave us nothing, which is completely untrue
  25. Not great. What did you expect? Greatness? If you did, you deserve to be disappointed. Besides, Masset didnt lose this game, Boone Logan did. Massett did what he was supposed to do, he kept his team in the game
