Its funny how action movie sequels are exciting and people look forward to them(for the most part), but making a sequel to a comedy is almost sacrilege for most.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 7, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) Me neither. He is definately not the problem. Sure, he is not THE problem, but he is A problem. look, I dont hate the guy, but he is a black hole in the lineup, and has been for quite some time. If the Sox have a chance to upgrade, whether internally or externally, I am all for it. His defense is good sometimes great, but how long can someones defense justify keeping a sub .200 BA in the lineup?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) I don't get the Uribe must go camp, as we have no one else who can play 2nd base. one caveat, when Richar is ready. When that time comes, I wont mind seeing Juan out the door. But you are correct, for now he is needed at 2b
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) Their biggest issues are 4 and 5. Lilly will get it figured out and have an ERA in the low 4's. Dempster, for as bad as his peripherals are, is still a decent starter. I'm happy they gave up so early on Hill. Lieber is awful! What makes you think that? The guy has been mediocre his entire career
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) Maybe the papers should write a story twice a week about how Uribe is about to be let go. Maybe it fires him up when it's reported a team shakeup is coming and all the shakeup involved was sending down some pitcher we won't use anyway. I think I would rather the Sox just let Juan go so that we dont have to read the stories anymore.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Hey Mark, after Vaz got screwed out of a W his last two starts, my fantasy team could really use a W from you. And so could your team. Mark got screwed out of a W his last start too, he went 8 innings with 0 ER, 5 hits vs Marcum

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) He was going after the young audience (12-16) and that age demographic loved that s***. I dont know that anyone loved that s***. That movie flopped bigtime in the theatres
  8. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/16186311/detail.html So let me get this straight, a guy named Doug Stoner is banning the sale of marijuana flavored candy? Is this for real?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) Batman Forever took it in the direction of Batman and Robin. Both films were awful representations of "The Dark Knight." Interesting how a movie can kill careers (O'Donnell, Silverstone) yet leave others untouched (Clooney). Thank the Lord for Chris Nolan. Clooney really had to step out of the box and make some really good movies to get out from under the glare of Batman and Robin. I just dont get how Schumacher could go so neon street punk overkill on those movies and think that it would fly. I understand that he was trying to bring in the tongue-in-cheek tone of the Batman tv series, but it just wasnt the right move. He was somewhat subdued in the first movie, but the second movie was just out of control. And I agree, thank the lord for Chris Nolan
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) I still don't think he'll stay under 5. I'll gladly stick to my word. I do enjoy how so many people would rather talk about what other people say instead of actually focusing on the game of baseball. If we didnt, this site would be boring

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 7, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) Interesting. And then Batman Forever took the franchise in what was the absolute worst direction possible. Joel Schumacher thankyouverymuch (not) Although I did love Jim Carrey as the Riddler
  12. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:04 AM) My Prediction of the predictable trio of asshats at the times covering this. First you have Slezak, now Eddie Munster pipes up, now if my prediction is to hold we will need a Couch article on Friday. My name is Jay, and I am predictable. LOL, and its Hawks fault. And Toby Hall is a jerk for the shaving cream pie. Jay is a master at being a crybaby
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) The new freely downloadable album from NIN (at their website) is actually quite good. Nice to see it's an industrial creation. Pretty cool. Hell yeah its good. And free to boot! Discipline is a really good song, I was listening to the album on the way to work today

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) And poor Billy Dee Williams never had a chance. You would think that Tim Burton would jump at the chance to bring two face into the story

  17. QUOTE (YASNY @ May 7, 2008 -> 06:58 AM) This thread should be mercifully closed. Agreed. Its way past its prime
  18. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) Did anyone see the two throws Rick Ankiel made tonight? His arm is sick, you DONT run on Ankiel. Too bad he couldnt keep that aim while on the mound
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I don't get why the dragon had a penis and massive boobs. the dragon is a metaphor
  20. Sorry to hear that j4l. I know a girl whose brother spent a substantial amount of time in jail, and he had to watch his back at all times. I dont imagine that would be the case for you, considering the amount of time you will be there. My buddy was there over christmas break for skipping a court date, and he just said it was boring and it really sucked. The food was bad, and you sit in your cell and do nothing.
  21. Im curious, are male reporters allowed in female lockerrooms, whether they be professional or college teams?
  22. Any press release yet? edit: found it http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,1263760.story
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) Where's the outrage? The level of outrage is not off the charts. Some people have pointed out that it's unprofessional and embarrassing for the franchise, others think it's just baseball players being baseball players. The argument lies in the spot where I'm just embarrassed. With the s*** that's been going on with this franchise, this was something it didn't need. I'm not outraged, but when I first brought up the subject way back on page 1, I did so because everyone thought it was funny and I thought it was lame and childish and embarrassing. We are approaching 20 pages of it
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ May 6, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) If you act unprofessionally, you play unprofessionally. Losing is a disease... as contagious as polio... as contagious as syphilis... as contagious as the bubonic plague... attacking one, but affecting all. So now the blowup doll is having a direct effect on the play of the team? GMAB, thats weak sauce Plenty of teams have been extremely immature (Red Sox Cowboy up, Naked Damon) and have done just fine
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) There's a difference between the actions you state above and a baseball bat in an inflatable vagina. Think about the children! Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children! I think about my seven year old every day, and this doesnt even register on her radar. I agree, this was childish, and should have been put away before the prying eyes of the female press saw it, but the level of outrage is off the charts.
