  1. Why dont they just make it into a play and be done with it? There is no need to make this into a movie again
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) He had nothing on the ball, and anyone can see this. He hasn't had much on the ball since June. He had a little streach last month and little bit into September, but otherwise, he hasn't had anything on the ball. Are you going to tell me he was choking during big games in June? I agree with the aspect that Javy isn't a big game pitcher, but I am telling you, there's something wrong with his arm. the guy was hitting 92-93 in the until he walked Morneau, then he reverted to nibbling, like he ALWAYS does, and got lit up. No, there is nothing wrong with his arm. quit making excuses for him.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 05:14 AM) I guarantee you Vazquez has either a dead arm or some sort of injury/discomfort he's not letting anyone know. For a while now, he has not had much on the ball, and last night was no exception. His fastball was barely hitting 90-91, and had very little movement compared to his good fastball. His changeup stayed up, his curve didn't curve, and his slider didn't slide. As of now, I would shut down Javy for the rest of the season, hoping he can regain some stuff come (hopefully) October. Quit kissing his ass because he has good stuff. Javy does this often, he has done it his whole career. it has nothing to do with injury, he shies away from big games.
  4. QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) I entered, but if I somehow win the NLCS lottery (if they get there) I will actually be attending that game with my Cub fan wife. I tried to work the "sell the tix and buy something nice" angle, but she really wants to go to the game, so we'll go. I won't sell any Sox ALCS tickets if I win that lottery, and she would go to a Sox playoff game with me, so fair's fair. also reads: i can get laid out of this
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) The best is the "expert" Buster Olney. I was kind of surprised at the end of the article when i saw that. Phillips got all of the heat in the article, and Olney barely got mentioned and he was the worst of all of them. Of course Olney doesnt have fake GM press conferences, so that probably helps his cause
  6. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:28 AM) I'm always amazed at the poor quality of women that you see pro athletes mixed up with. I realize she's just probably something on the side, but c'mon she's about 7 at best. If you're gonna cheat, make it worth it. And if you are going to cheat, dont let someone take your picture while in the lead-up to the act

  8. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 01:30 PM) I thought they were like marriages, a lot of sucking and blowing at first, but in the end you lose the house. Los FTW
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 11:39 AM) Now you are putting words in his mouth. You have to admit he sounds pretty nonchalant about the whole thing. Given his track record of shying from big games, it isnt as if that is a stretch
  10. http://vegaswatch.net/2008/09/evaluating-a...tions-2008.html Steve Phillips takes the free pass on the failboat here, not that its a surprise. Pecota cleans up nicely, the White Sox get a nice mention
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) SATURDAY Zach Jackson (crafty LH) against Javier Vazquez (3 day's rest) Didnt the Sox destroy that crafty lefty? edit: I see they havent faced him yet. Didnt the indians throw a LH pitcher against the Sox(during the series that the Sox swept, prompting the Indians to trade CC) that was supposed to be really good, but the Sox ended up annihilating?
  12. .....rapidly hurtling towards certain destruction in the Filibuster
  13. I think he stays and gets a real shot to compete. I think this was the year where he needed to prove that he could exist within a clubhouse in a part time position without causing any trouble. He has more than proved his worth, and you cannot find that kind of defense just anywhere.
  14. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) Almost as good as when Bush Sr. took on Bart Simpson. Anyone remember that? Aye Carumba was a statement that was punishable by death
  15. I think I just fell in love with Mexican TV star Ines Sainz Thank you sportsbybrooks
  16. QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) I feel like you said this in another thread (game thread maybe?) and I replied with the same thing, but seriously, have you seen how the Twins are doing lately? Their pitching has been abysmal and can't keep the ball in the park. He says that EVERY series
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) Has anyone underachieved at their job more than the new defensive coordinator? I'm sure even SSI would say that Greg Walker is better at his job. Lets not get carried away here
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) God forbid we give the ball to Forte on 3rd and 2 to ice the game. Idiotic play calling again to maybe cost us the game. Wouldnt be necessary if Gould hits that FG
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) I just said it bothers me. I'm not looking to fire anyone over it, ha. UR feyrd
  20. I thought Orton was composed and mature now, so the entire playbook could be used and they didnt have to cut the playbook in half and dumb it down.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) Ok, time to warm up #8. Orton sounds like he has no idea where his protection is at and where the defense it coming
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) Someone should be fired for a mistake as simple and harmless as that? Considering our conversation the other night and your hangup on proper grammar and spelling, this is hilarious.
  23. Do Muslim clerics really sit around and think about such petty things as this?
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 05:06 PM) Edwin Jackson is a terrible match-up against the Twins. 7.2 IP, 7 H, 1 ER
