  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 08:41 AM) Would you give up half a million dollars to get say $10,000,000, or more? That is the way he is looking at it. He is going to get that regardless, so No I wouldnt give that money up because I would be getting it anyways.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 09:32 AM) I'll bet Hester is making a lot more than that in endorsements. Im sure he is, but still, nobody wants to just give away 445000 bucks. Im sure Hester wants to get this done quick
  3. So Hester gets paid 445,000 a year, and is being fined 15,000 per day for missing training camp. So he basically has 33 days before he is broke. Who do you think blinks first?
  4. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 04:53 AM) It's a volunteer military. Campbell signed his name on that piece of paper knowing full well the Army would call all the shots. Why should the Army provide him a West Point education and then just let him walk away, or receive special treatment? The strange thing is that they said he was going to be fine if he was drafted into the NFL, but then they reneged and told him they needed him anyways, and waited until the first day of training camp to do so. If they wanted him, they should have just said so, and not let him get drafted and wait until training camp to come get him
  5. Its funny to me that people complain about the cream pies in the face. "Whaaaa, its so old and unoriginal" "Whaaaa, why dont they try whipped cream" WHO CARES The team has fun with it, why should any of us care about it
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) Way to blow your cover. LOL
  7. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 07:22 PM) I'll dust it off again. I know it's crappy, but I enjoy looking at him. It will be fine if you just edit out that weird yellowish green line around quentin.
  8. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 07:36 PM) 1. You don't trade Cabrera to get Derek Lowe. 2 .What would we have to trade to get Brian Roberts? He won't come free. Maybe LA has something Baltimore wants, + someone from the Sox or the minors
  9. just expanding on a thought here: should Uribe and Cabrera get traded and Roberts comes back to the Sox, we can most likely expect Fields to be called up to back up Crede at 3rd, correct? Also, who would end up being the utility infielder/swingman?
  10. You know that Angelo is trying to backload this contract with incentives and performance bonuses in case Hester doesnt work out as a WR. There is no way he is going to pay Hester Berrian money off the bat
  11. i know this looks good on paper, but i really really hope this doesnt disrupt chemistry on the team.

  13. 2.5 games on the Twins, TYVM Yankees. Thats the last time I say that about the Yankees
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) Perhaps you should read the post following- I never read up on his stats as I guessed he was more near his career mark at .260. I then corrected myself. perhaps you should not overreact so we cannot point out your overreactions
  15. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 06:36 PM) A prediction: There will come a day, when Francisco Rodriguez will not earn a save. It may not be today (in fact, it definitely won't be), it may not be tomorrow. But that day will come. I have spoken. hush your mouth for my fantasy teams sake.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) The Sox lost the must win on Sunday. The season has been over for 3 days. I agree with you though, one thought for a miracle would be for KW to go get Geoff Blum back. He can play several positions terribly. LMAO, classic post
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 11:39 AM) He loves the Chronic as well, if I recall correctly. I thought it was the nose candy, not the chronic

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 11:16 AM) Oh yeah, I've been wondering this. Can anyone elaborate on why they thought it was a hole? I dont even worry about that stuff when watching a comic book movie. Normally you have to suspend a tremendous amount of disbelief, I think one of the greatest qualities of Christopher Nolan is that he minimizes that as much as possible. But at the same time, it is STILL a comic book movie. I mean, if you really want to get into it,
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 10:04 AM) Latest from Rosenthal via MLBTradeRumors: I think chisoxfn mused about a trade similar to this in the past few days, a three way deal with the dodgers and orioles

QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) 42 is 8 I hope you know what books I was referring to in my reply, lol
  22. I think the number of pied players greatly exceeds the number of non-pied players this year
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) Yeah, I've noticed that. 2 big areas have been completely ignoring Fukudome's tanking and Marmol struggling, the media will still talk about Marmol like it's his first month. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/bsplit.cgi?n1=fukudko01 Fukudome was a good player in April, about an average player in May and June and horrible in July Fukudome's decline has coincided with the league throwing tons of slow and away junk to him

The answer to everything is 42
  25. When his cutter is on, he is almost untouchable. Pitching over that leadoff triple with no outs, and not letting the run score was nothing but guts and guile. And he sawed off every batter, no strikeouts, just straight up sawdust
