QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) It's easy to understand your frustration with Paulie. And obviously I exaggerated saying booing paulie would be worst moment in Sox history. It would be a disgrace, however, and show everything that's wrong with modern fans and sports. What have you done for me lately, Paulie? It would be an utter disgrace and if the fans booed him should be ripped from coast to coast. No. It would just be another player getting booed for lack of performance. There is nothing else to it. Fans have been booing players since the game was invented, its just the way it is. There is no significance in Paul Konerko getting booed. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) But you have to think before you say stupid stuff. you roll this one out after saying it would be the lowest point of the franchise if Paul Konerko got booed, and the fans should be ripped for booing him?

Hey GT, do you think the new wii motionsensor only works with games designed to use that? Or does it just increase overall sensitivity on any game? I was just thinking that you can use that for the Wii Wheel, it wont fit in the mold

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) All star edition. None of you have anything better to do, anyways. Admit it. People just don't like you. i hate when you are right

QUOTE (Harvin4Heisman @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) This is almost impossible. Do you guys remember what it took to get Swisher? MacDougal? It would take more than that COMBINED to get a Cy Young candidate mid-season!!!!!!! I'm not saying it can't happen, but sometimes we overrate our prospects, and when you have the worst farm system in all of baseball, you just can't trade everything you have left. It's like suicide for the next 5 years. JD is only under contract for a couple of years, PK is falling off the face of the earth, Crede/Thome/OC will be gone next year. And Javy and Contreras will be gone in two years. You have to think about the future also, not just the present. If we through all of our prospects into this deal, we will be lauding KW now but ripping him in the future. All I'm saying is we simply don't have the bullets to win now and not throw away our future. We dont have the bullets to win now? Arent the Sox in 1st place? And it isnt worth going for it all by trading some prospects? Why would this be suicide for the next 5 years?

Are trades generally avoided during the break? Has there ever been an all star traded over the break? Just curious

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 12:13 PM) PLEASE POST A STICKY THAT KONERKO (10/5) and THOME (CLAUSE) CAN NOT BE TRADED WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT AND THERFORE SHOULD NOT BE PART OF ANY SCENARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you honestly think that people would care about that sticky? That same rhetoric has been repeated for weeks, and it hasnt made a damn bit of difference. Some people want them gone, and they will continue to throw them into scenarios until the trade deadline is up

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) Yes but thats a bush way of retaliation. I have no problem with a pitcher throwing a hitter if its low and justified. I didnt witness what happened in Texas, i'm just trying to point out that just b/c someone says they need to hit so and so, that doesnt mean they have to go after his head. And frankly, any pitcher who does head hunt I lose a bit of respect for. Ok, why does Ian Kinsler need to take a beanball, on the body, because some pitcher couldnt handle Ozzie Guillen talking smack? Where is the justification?

QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) Its not soo much the money, its the commitment. He will never be the Garcia from 05' again and I dont want to see him in the rotation. We dodged the bullet once already with him, lets not get in front of the gun again. Why is the commitment foolish? Garcia is going to want to prove himself with a 1 year deal. If the Sox get something out of him, great, it not, he fools around in AAA for the last half of the year and he is out. The Sox arent gonna sign him and just plug him into the rotation from the getgo

QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 08:44 AM) Iam still happy we got rid of him when we did.It would be foolish to bring him back. Why would it be foolish? Low risk, High reward. It isnt as if he is angling for a huge contract

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 07:30 AM) It looks to me like they are celebrating a homerun by their new ace. pfffft, Prince is surely ridin the pony

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) Wow, even lower than a certain event which occured in 1919? I'll boo him just to be a part of history! Even lower than disco demolition! Even lower than 1919! Even lower than wearing shorts and collars as part of your baseball uniform! Even lower than the White Flag trade! Yes folks, booing Paul Konerko would be the lowest point in the history of the franchise!!!!! LOL

I would just like to say that I hope I never hear Rick Reilly on the air again. His blatant attempt at stirring controversy was just awful -

So it is grand total of HRs, not round by round elimination due to round totals? -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) Hamilton why? because god said so.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) Any chance they could use an over-priced 1B with diminishing skills and no speed? They have Frank THomas and Mike Sweeney already.....

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Saw this over at WSI and figured I'd post it over here. It would be very interesting and the Sox/A's obviously have a history of dealing with each other (both GM's have some of the biggest ego's in baseball). Still, you would be talking about getting a starter who has been downright dominant this season. The only question I ask is do the Sox have enough to acquire him (prospect wise) and how much of a chance are they taking on the fact that they are buying a guy while he's at his highest market value. Hey, thats two questions and you said you only had one. In regards to the prospects, I think KW can swing it, Beane covets lots of prospects that others ignore, and recently he has been going after a lot of Sox prospects(Cunningham, Carter, Gonzalez, Sweeney), so who knows which prospects Beane is looking at and wants. In regards to taking Duchserer at his highest value, if he performs well does it matter?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) I think my comments were not outlandish. Does anybody out there think the Cubs will not cruise?? As much as I love the Sox, this team is highly dysfunctional and no, I do not think we'll cruise. I think Detroit will be right there as well as Minnie. I hope we roll, but I don't see anything wrong with my analysis. The Brewers and Cards do not have what it takes. Also the Cubs picked up Harden. Sabathia is not god. That's pretty much a wash there, as long as harden stays healthy. And I do not like the Cubs. How often does any team cruise to the playoffs anymore? Not very often at all. Last year the Cubs didnt clinch until the last week of the season because Milwaukee went off, and now Milwaukee has an better staff and all of their kids have one more year under their belts. I honestly dont think ANY team walks away with their division this year. And I know you dont like the Cubs, but to just outright dismiss the Sox having a decent-to-good chance at going to the playoffs, even though everything points to both teams making the playoffs, is outlandish.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) Better record in interleague play? Although that'd suck if you have a wide disparity in the strength of divisions. Honestly that seems to be the best way to do it besides better record between the teams -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) Maybe kyle, but the odds are so slim of us both even making the playoffs. Sox, Tigers and Twins will be in a war all season. Cubs will probably win that division going away. Right, The Sox are going to have problems with the rest, but the Cubs wont have any problems. Gotcha. Quality analysis. Who traded for CC Sabathia again?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) e3 starts today with Microsoft going first. Nintendo and Sony go tomorrow, but Nintendo did have an awesome announcement today. The Wii MotionPlus, which provides 1:1 motion feedback: The wireless nunchuk is pretty sweet too, although Nyko is getting sued because of it

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) If Soxtalk.com is any true indicator, Paulie will be booed the entire second half of the season at The Cell. Does that matter?

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 01:27 AM) I just put ALL of my music, regardless of my intentions of listening to it, onto my ipod. If I get a new cd, its a plug and click few minute ordeal to upload it. Another good poll question would be, In what way is the majority of one's music acquired? ie. illegal downloads, itunes store, other paid downloaders, actual cds, etc. I think thats a poll that will be left untold. illegal downloads are a subject to be avoided around here for various reasons

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) Yeah O'Neill had a pretty bad reputation when he was coaching for the Toronto Raptors. Think he used to be on Larry Brown's staff once upon a time? I think he is known as a super disciplinarian, which is why nobody likes him. I think thats why he has been run out of whatever town he has coached at

QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) Iam going to check it out then.I have to admit when we first invaded them with the shock and awe I was watching it like it was a television show.I felt kinda guilty for enjoying it. Then you will like the show. Its funny, but there is a lot of tension on the show, I think it is very well done.
