  1. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Mahay is going to Atlanta with Tex. duh. read the link Kyle.
  2. R.I.P. The man had a lengthy battle with Leukemia, he is in a better place now.
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) i still don't understand boston's need for dye. You just cannot trust JD Drew to stay healthy for an entire year. If you have Drew and Dye interchanging in right field during the year, and also have Dye, Drew and Ortiz changing places at DH during the year, the Red Sox would have a much better chance of finishing the year with all three players reasonably healthy going into the playoffs. I dont like it because i dont like the BoSox, but I think this move makes perfect sense for the Red Sox
  4. Hmm, Texas getting Saltamacchia also improves the Cubs chances of dealing for Mahay and Laird. I wonder if Pie will end up being another "One who got away"?
  5. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:30 AM) WrestlingGoneWrong.com - Perry Saturn punishes Mike Bell. Some say this is why he was saddled with the Moppy gimmick as punishment. hmmm, for some reason the video wont load for me, im getting the angry red X
  6. Just on the hypothetical side, if LaRussa came back and managed I wonder if he would retain Cooper as his pitching coach or if he would bring Dave Duncan along with him. Hawk was talking some serious trash last season about Duncan, I can only imagine what he would or wouldnt say about him if he was with the Sox coaching staff
  7. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/base...illo/index.html Wasnt Ruben Gotay a starter for the Royals at one time? Is he still considered a rookie?
  8. QUOTE(LukeGofannon @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 08:08 AM) Like Bonderman? No, I think Bonderman is recovering from pitching more innings than he ever has. Ledezma has mental problems and was a reliever/spot starter. His mechanics and confidence are his problems, not fatigue. If the Sox could take a flyer on this kid, I cannot say i would be dissapointed. Like mentioned earlier, he could come in sometimes and flat out dominate, and other times he would just get kilt as Hawk likes to say
  9. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Vick is f***ed...plain and simple. Right off the bat Vick threw those guys under the bus and tried to pin it all on them. I dont know what he expected, but I thought they were going to turn on him one by one. I dont think Taylor is going to be the only one that turns on him either.
  10. QUOTE(juddling @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) Anyone want to take bets on which game knocks Mike Brown out for the year?????? Yeah, I know he is injury prone. He is also playing for a last big payday, and knows he needs to stay on the field. Im also happy knowing that Danieal Manning and Chris Harris had plenty of opportunity to start and get that time under their belts.
  11. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:38 AM) If ANY year is the Bears' year, this is it. You didn't even mention Greg Olsen! Thats because i was talking about the defense.
  12. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) Some indy jobbers are complaining that LAX is "unprofessional". http://web.charleston.net/news/2007/jul/29...ures_mack11694/ My favorite part is the jobber team complaining that they like to work stiff with other workers all the time but then complained when they got stiffed by Homicide and Hernandez who gave them a purple welt and a stiff Border Toss. If this isn't the first time the guy has had a collapsed lung, then perhaps he should think about not taking dangerous bumps or being a stiff wrestler who then complains when he gets stiffed back. The article does a great job defaming LAX. But I wonder if LAX knew that these two guys were going to try to stiff them in the ring or not in advance. I can see it being surprising and getting stiffed can cause people to get pissed off (see Saturn vs Jobber where he legit kicks the s*** out of him and throws him outside of the ring landing on his neck). And who is to say the guy just didn't take the move properly? Why blame Hernandez if the other guy can't take the elevated bump properly? But it was a bit asshole-ish for Hernandez to not check up on them after the match. Is there a video of this somewhere?
  13. So much for a problem at DT this year, eh? This defense is gonna be sick. Our SB starting safeties are now backups to Archuleta and Brown, we locked up our pro bowl caliber corners, Gave Alex Brown the motivation he needs to maintain a starting job(if he is better than Mark Anderson, he needs to show it or shut up, thats all there is too it), kept Briggs around for one more year. Angelo is the man.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) So i saw that there Simpsons Movie today. Can I please have that 77 minutes back? They didn't even make an attempt to put together an entertaining storyline. No, you cant have it back. You b**ch about the show all the time, it serves you right for going to see the movie.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) Thats funny, I said the same thing around the 5th. Not only was Kong out of the lineup, but I made sure to look for him in the dugout, and didn't see him once, and I also thought he might hit for Mack in the 8th. Rongey said it was a planned day off, but a Friday AND Sunday off? Little interesting... Ozzie said it on Friday and Rongey reported it on his pre-game show then as well.
  16. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 05:46 PM) i was thinking the same thing...... seems like too much of a coincidence. if i was an athlete living in the area id be careful. The situations are very similar. Home invasion, subdued and tied up by a few guys with guns, jewelry and cash stolen, and they are outta there.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) No, I still think Michael Keaton was the best.. And im just giving Kalapse s*** about Bale And im just giving you s*** My opinion of Bale is that he is fitting the role of a young and learning Batman perfectly. Cocky, angry, raw, as realistic as possible given the idea of the Bruce Wayne/Batman character. I have a friend that doesnt like him as Batman because he has a slight lisp (probably from covering up his accent), but I really really enjoyed everything he brought to Batman begins.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) Because he was here so long, right? I think I saw a little focus against Houston last year.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) Can someone explain to me why Fields isn't playing? Anyone? Sorry my friend, Sunday lineups offer no rhyme or reason
  20. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) If that would have been AJ it would have started an international incident. Im surprised that the opposing team never went back on the field to at least tag the guy out. They just let him trot around the bases
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) My sarcasm didn't quite come through, I'm guessing. I didnt think green font was necessary. I would think something was seriously wrong with Buehrle if he was naming his kid after Braden Looper and David Eckstein
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiS2-t5s4ig Always tag the batter on a strikeout that hit the ground
  23. I think this was the same guys who robbed Antoine Walker.
  24. another nice turn from Richar to Uribe. Richar hit Uribe in stride to second base
  25. Im intrigued about this Steve Stone and Hawk Harrelson pairing. Im wondering how Stone will react to Hawks meandering mind during a game
