QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) The early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Apparently the reshoots didn't tone it down. Lots of twists that haven't been spoiled. Lots of Vader. Kevin Smith (Yeah, I know) is saying it's on par with Empire. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a film. About this time last year, I was this excited lol
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Who's the better coach: Fisher or Trestman? Say what you want about Fisher's extended history of being mediocre, but that guy got to a superbowl. Trestman's ears are still ringing from those back to back 50 burgers against the Packers and NE
  4. Once that Fisher extension got announced, he immediately started saying that he didnt have players and basically called out his GM. And now, he has no job, and nobody is surprised. But at least he can say he didnt go 7-9
  5. Uh oh, Schefter and LaCanfora gonna brawl over rumors
  6. Rumors going around today that Bill Polian is looking to get back in a FO position, and the Bears are reportedly interested in the name of restructuring and possibly removing Phillips from football decision power (ie. Polian takes on some sort of president of football ops type job) Rex Ryan might also be getting the ax today
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) Are there any recent rumors? Russians hacked Soxtalk on friday
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Naw, no chance he gets a big deal. I wish we'd have given him two years though would have been nice to cut Hoyer. ? Are you talking about cutting Hoyer in this past preseason?
  9. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 08:53 AM) I really only watch the Bears and the playoffs so I am not all that up on the career of Matt Barkley (I don't play fantasy football either) but I found it odd he had never started a game before coming to the Bears. I know he was super-hyped going into USC and didn't live up to those expectations. He certainly looks serviceable. He caught the brunt of the USC fallout from Pete Carroll/Reggie Bush etc, so USC was kind of a mess when he was there. And then in his senior year Anthony Barr destroyed his shoulder at the end of the year and he wasnt able to throw at the combine
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 07:42 AM) Do you guys think Bears sign Barkley and he starts next year when the Bears draft the QB of the future? I think he has at the very least played himself into placeholder position next season. Barkley hasnt been perfect but he has been way better than i thought he would be. I was expecting shades of Krenzel, and i am seeing a lot closer to Hoyer
  11. LOL Bellamy is so bad
  12. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) Hold up, there are s***ty people on the internet? NO WAY. Just today a dude that got a Cowboys Superbowl Champs tattoo got death threats over the internet. People are awful when given an anonymous platform. We've known this for years. people are even more awful when they are in a position of power and are able to influence anonymous people on an anonymous platform and then claim they didnt say that
  13. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Enjoy it, once these trades are all made, we're going to have nothing to do but pray these guys pan out. as opposed to praying that everyone who was signed over the offseason finds the fountain of youth and is able to recreate their career season
  14. there is nobody that can fall upwards quite like Kiffin
  15. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) and thanks for being a condescending dick. Cant help it, Im too worried about attendance next season so i get grouchy
  16. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) people expectations need to be tempered because i see a LOT of people talking about how exciting next year or 2018 is going to be when in reality these kids aren't ready to play in the big leagues yet. come back to me when you see the roster this upcoming season and let me know how many games you plan on going to. Honestly, i still dont care. I am all in on the youth movement and I am ready for a s***ty season because I have dealt with s***ty seasons for the past 8 years. Thanks for telling us all to tap the brakes though, we all appreciate it. None of us would have known that some prospects dont pan out if you didnt tell us
  17. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) Sean Sears on twitter: "Source: Asking price for Chris Archer and Jose Quintana is too high for #Astros, "seems unlikely" that either will end up in Houston" Yea, and Dave Dombrowski was happy with his starting rotation 3 weeks ago.
  18. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) but NONE of these kids are going to break with the team after ST ends. they all need more development. i'm sure next year's roster is going to look pretty s***ty, so i'm not sure that's worth going to watch. and in all honestly, upper management deserves the empty seats next season for all the s*** we've endured as fans paying for a craptastic products since 2005. Who cares? Were the seats gonna be full if everything stayed Status Quo? Nope. It's retro day, time for Brooks to dust off "The Kids Can Play" and get it ready
  19. Stole this from white sox Dave
  20. Fangio pretty much put the report that he was leaving on blast, said he plans to be back next year and the report wasnt true.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) Typical Bears yet Ted Phillips stays still. Fox is not working out he will be lame duck coach in 2017. check your quote, dude. doesnt quite match
  22. Smash Bros: Melee reportedly will be coming to the Nintendo Switch along with Super Mario Sunshine, Luigis Mansion, and Animal Crossing. Smash bros Melee is a good move by them, there is still a huge following for that game and still many competitions(i dont think eSports though)
  23. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) Would anyone do Q for Clint Frazier & Torres? It would be hilarious if the Yankees gave up two top prospects for a former prospect that they just let walk
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) So to ask here now that there's a thread... WTF are the Royals doing? Does this make them better next year? not to my eyes. They were a freak injury and a terrible season from Hosmer last year away from being a solid playoff team again. Practically 1/2 of their world series contributors hit free agency after this year. Fine, they have salary constraints, but if there is ever a time to go for it for a franchise, it's where the Royals are now. Are they going to trade Moustakas, Cain, Hosmer, Duffy, Escobar, and Dyson all now? Go find someone who can give up a 1b/DH type who won't cost a ton because he's a free agent soon, take your best shot at adding 1 more arm to your rotation, and on paper you've got a team that rivals Cleveland. You're rebuilding in 2018 no matter what you do, go win another trophy first. I asked my friend the same thing. It must really suck to be a Royals fan and see them tearing down what took ten years to build, because they simply dont want to pay market value for their guys. They are trying to define rolling rebuild, i guess
