    Rick Hahn

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) Right on, GreenSox. I made a similar comment in Future Sox. Giving up Tatis in the Shields trade was either lunacy or a sign of weakness, or both. Pads wanted to get rid of that guy no matter what; should have been salary dump as you said. Okay we give up Johnson. I see no need to have given up Tatis, whether he succeeds or not. But San Diego wanted Tatis, and Hahn says okay. What was the San Diego GM gonna do, walk away? Stupid, just plain stupid to include him in that trade. So you were a big Tatis fan before this trade? That's interesting.
  2. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Did he say something wrong? Pretty sure he didn't. Both networks are unlistenable today with the 85 Bears talk. No, I just found it funny that you are decrying fanboyism while parroting Bernstein
  3. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Fanboyism at its finest. You don't have to like Hub, but he's very intelligent when it comes to the NFL. It's too bad, by the way, that Chicago has milked the crap out of the 1985 Bears for 30 years, because it's such a sad day for the Bears organization, but the general feeling about the 85 Bears stories is exhaustion. It's all been so overdone now. And it's still embarrassing the Bears have to celebrate a Super Bowl from three decades ago. Hey look, someone else is listening to Bernstein too
  4. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 10:44 AM) you forgot a few guys Jo Mama Heywood Jablome Suuk Madeek You forgot the LOOGY Mike Hunt
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) Well, Sale has to face his demons and get past the Twins for once this year. oh so 7 innings 2 ER doesn't count
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 07:42 AM) You will know the White Sox are actually making progress when someone on an Indians' or Royals' board expresses fear/respect in terms of facing the White Sox (beyond just Sale/Q/Rodon). Harrelson does the same exact thing (w/ our opponents). Ozzie always overpraised the Twins/Piranhas. Im sure Robin prints out the Indians and Royals messageboards for bulletin board material.
  7. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 07:20 AM) That may very well be, however two more bats, in addition to the Morneau "lottery ticket," just seems like overkill to me. I think that the bullpen is a higher priority. There is no such thing as too much hitting, and bullpen needs dont have to be ignored because they decided to insure themselves against Morneau flopping
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 05:25 AM) Pat Summitt just passed away. Only 64. Wow. Dementia took her pretty quickly. Just over the weekend a report came out that she went into hospice care RIP
  9. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 06:45 AM) They don't need to add two bats, as they are already committed to Morneau, to fill one spot. One more bat and a bullpen arm, would make more sense to me. Come on Lillian, Morneau isnt a committment, he is a lottery ticket.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:14 PM) If Rose had actually hit his prime, we've probably got a ring and Deng, Korver, and Noah are still around.
  11. considering he usually starts slow in every level he has been at, and has been pretty successful so far, I am pretty happy with what I have seen so far. Not every player is a complete OBP machine, im not expecting every player to be one. The kid can hit, hopefully the patience shows up soon as he gets accustomed to the majors
  12. QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 08:54 AM) Point taken, but if it comes down to overpaying for a Cespedes/Encarnacion type player or signing an Austin Jackson type player for peanuts and getting peanuts in production, I'm overpaying for those 2-3 good years all day. I'm not a financial whiz, and again, 150MM was the first arbitrary number that popped in my head. If a player of his caliber says "I want this and I'll sign with you", then you match that offer RIGHT NOW in my opinion. If this was a rebuilding team I'd say hell no, but it's a team that's in desperation mode and desperate times call for desperate measures. What it boils down to for me is that they have to get to the playoffs by 2019. After that everyone will be on the backend of their careers. They'll be lousy after then anyways, so who cares if they have bad money on the books? Sale/Q/Eaton/Abreu will all be on the wrong side of 30 and not as valuable as they are now. So, again, go big or go home. By then Reinsdorf will be 85ish anyways, so he shouldn't give a s*** about money. If desperate times call for desperate measures, i sure as hell hope they choose someone other than Encarnacion to spend all of that money on
  13. What was the significance of the children killing Maester Pycell? I feel like I missed something
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) 20 minutes into this finale and oh my god. 49 minutes in and still oh my god
  15. Here is to hoping that Miguel builds on last weeks start
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) Peppa Pig is getting close to Calliou in the worst kids TV show ever rankings. Lol
  17. I bet the bruise on Abreu's thigh from the hbp on Wednesday is super ugly. It looked and sounded bad
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) He didn't say it though. They were trying to get him to talk about Ben Wilson. He didn't do it. The way he answered that, it almost sounded like he didn't know why
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) Man that franchise just doesn't know how to get over the hump. OTOH, Noah works best when you have a slashing PG he can clean up for and is allowed to play center. But yes, that certainly makes Lopez contract look good. I'll think of that every second of our 40-42 season. Noahs knee just doesnt allow him to do what he did before.
  20. Rumor is that Mephisto will be the Big Bad in The Defenders
  21. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) So trading Rose was terrible because of the crap they got back (even though they got a legit NBA center and a potential roster player in Grant), but you guys are upset the Bulls DIDN'T trade Taj for, at best, a role player? Seemed like they are upset that the Bulls didnt trade him for similar value that Belinelli got. Taj is basically a role player himself, albeit a well paid one.
  22. QUOTE (Special K @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 10:25 AM) How much again did we pay per year for the privilege of those 2? $4 million? Had we allocated that on a per year basis to someone like Gordon, perhaps it would've made the difference. Would be fine with Flowers in that instance. They offered more to Gordon than KC did, and he chose to go back.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) I think the Bulls will sign 2-3 role player types and not one big expenditure. You know, you have absolutely nothing to make you think this will happen except for the entire history of this front office.
