  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) Just think about this argument though. "We're giving up a year of team control and saving money by trading our better players for worse players". Not exactly a strong tactic there. I wouldn't say "worse" players, I would say "unproven". Look at Donaldson, he was the Single A throw-in to the Harden trade, and was a catcher to boot. Beane believes in this strategy and he has been pretty successful, I would say
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 07:57 AM) Samardzija/Reddick for Viciedo/Semien/?/?...? DEAL!
  3. All I am gonna say is if WWE can reconcile with Bret Hart, anything can happen. Doesn't look likely, but let's be honest here, this would make tons of money for all
  4. QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 07:39 AM) I want Samardjiza extended so the Sox can exploit a new market inefficiency - guys with unpronounceable last names. Samardjiza, Michelczewski... who's next? They made a pass at Saltalamacchia last year, too bad
  5. @susanslusser: I am hearing rumblings that the #Athletics are close to a fairly significant deal that involves Jeff Samardzija.
  6. Proving collusion in his case seems pretty tough. Terrible last year, lots of miles, legal problems. That alone right there is enough for any team to say thanks but no thanks, I don't see how they could prove all teams decided collectively to not sign him
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) I mean I think of Viciedo as completely worthless. If I were an opposing GM I would not give up anything for him unless it removed a salary I didn't want on my roster. Well yea, you are a jaded white sox fan. Of course
  8. Peace out Briggs. It didn't end well, but you had some great moments in a Bears uniform http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...go-may-be-over/

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) Seconded. But hope it's good for all the dorks...I mean nerds, dammit! I mean fans. Says the guy who watches WWE (as much as me)

i wouldnt worry too much about the droid, we all know R2 is gonna be around
  11. I could have sworn someone on Soxtalk made an argument that Alexeis defensive statistics and zone ratings are skewed negatively because he gets to a lot of balls that he really shouldnt, and then cant make the play because they are such incredibly difficult plays. Or, i could be having a bad Hawk flashback

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) Still prepared to be disappointed. But the Falcon got me excited. I am completely open minded on it because at the very least, George Lucas is not writing the lines.
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) Bears should hire Brian Kelly. You keep your mess right there. We have our own to worry about

i want to see that right now
  15. If he had the velocity he used to have, I would be all about this. Losing the 4MPH off his fastball, he just looks like BP
  16. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) White sox would get nothing they own nothing of the park. Cub would just play at Wrigley . I think you mean the Cell
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 09:03 AM) ST kick coverage is getting really good. I was listening to the 3rd Q in the car on my way to my sister's house yesterday, and Joniak said they are now something like 2nd in the league covering kicks. What, in the past 3 games? There was far too many mistakes before anything got fixed
  18. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 08:04 AM) The Bears are 4th in the league in giveaways, and Cutty himself leads the league in turnovers. Opposing teams gets extra possessions and defense stays on the field longer. In a way, Cutler is also part of the problem. they all feed into another. ST with bad coverage gives opposing teams better field position>opposing teams score easier>more pressure put on offense to perform(which they dont)>leads back to special teams or a turnover>back to defense. There are teams that have a "machine" that works well, and leads to positive results. The Bears have created a machine that works well, and leads to negative results

  20. I have no one person to blame, I blame them all. And it starts at the top, Trestman and Co have been nothing short of terrible for pretty much the whole year. They have been coaching and playing afraid, they never try and set the tone.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) The stuff about ignoring injuries would irk me. the company also did a lot for him as well. I think he's just a miserable guy in general. The stuff with hhh not putting him over was dumb when it happened. We all said it made no sense and absolutely slowed him down. It was cool that he had Bryan's back and pointed out that they did it to him as well
  22. It seems like there is no plan past the initial plan. After the initial plan is snuffed out, then keep trying the initial plan
  23. Lol, there are so many locales that would be considered before any Dakota. Besides, Wite is there. They know it is toxic
  24. @kfishbain: Stafford: 33/44 for 391 yards, 8.9 YPA, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 116.8 rating. Cutler: 26/42 for 217 yards, 5.2 YPA, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 81.2 rating.
  25. I just want this entire staff fired right now.
