  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) He just better be 110% healthy. (Insert D Rose joke here) SS2K5 and Balta have trademarked those jokes, so they will decide if and when they can be used
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 03:05 PM) If Elmore puts up a .300/.375/.400 season as the starting 2B, I would s*** my pants try something a little more shocking and infrequent
  3. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 02:57 PM) As a white sox fan part of this, it is wishful thinking but just perhaps they will transform Elmore into the player he should be when teamed with a former team mate and friend. I'm realistic but we may find if there is anything to this scenario in March when Elmore and Adams will get a chance to show their stuff. It would be nice for that to happen, but I just dont believe that this is Hahns plan going into next season.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 11:41 PM) Yahoo mail? You guys 65 years old? nothing wrong with it, why change? I have had my email address for 15 years now, lol
  5. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 02:31 PM) Good point. Here's another stat that is note worthy: In his Minor League career, he has 304 walks vs. 303 strike outs, in 2,414 plate appearances. How often do you see a stat like that? All i know is you are really projecting a lot out of this kid based on the minors.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) And whatever they save from the posting fee, they probably will have to spend on the player given there will actually be competition. I am surprised the Japanese teams agreed to this. I am curious as to how the Japanese teams ownership of the players rights works. If the Japanese teams didnt agree to it, then you have to wonder if the players will find some sort of a loophole in their free agency to just go to the US. The Japanese teams want to get money merely for offering these players up, they dont want to be left with no player and no money.
  7. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 11 Dec So barring something unexpected, Trestman clear #Bears will start Jay Cutler vs #Browns on Sunday. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 11 Dec But Trestman is leaving decision on QB open because he wants to see how he performs in workout later today, maybe see how he feels Thursday Not so optimistic about Briggs though, which really sucks
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 12:58 PM) It's the owners trying to save themselves from themselves. They arent, really. they may reduce the posting fee, but they are still going to give out large dumb contracts to players that have never played against MLB competition
  9. wait, Urlacher said he doesnt think Jay should start? Say it aint so
  10. We also have the Submarine Shop in Algonquin/Dundee, which is pretty awesome. It was featured on Chicago Eats. It is just a little sub shop off Rte 31, blink and you miss it. We go there from time to time, everytime we go in there it has a line out the door
  11. So in the end, the big market teams will continue to win. Good job, baseball.
  12. I think the dying out of the industry is a direct result of the popularity of the subways/jimmy johns/potbellies/Jersey Mikes. You go to those privately owned delis and their stuff is awesome, but their prices usually cant beat a $5 footlong. There is a place in McHenry called Epic Deli that is supposed to be awesome. A coworker friend lives in McHenry and goes there at least twice a week
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 10:28 AM) He lets the White Sox brass do that for him....naming the broadcast level of the park after him, Hawk Harrelson Day, having MLB Network do a special on him, etc. Make no mistake, he wants to be there. I am sure a lot of the voters would have looked at Santo much more favorably if he had let the Cubs brass done the same thing.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) With all of Santo's whining, he didn't deserve to get in while he was alive. At least you can say about Hawk that he isnt openly campaigning for it
  15. If the Cubs have another big losing season(which looks very possible), the natives will become very restless. When he was hired, I told myself that Theo is going to have to start seeing results in year 3 otherwise things will get ugly.
  16. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 09:21 AM) I'm sorry, but the logic here escapes me. Neither Eaton nor Elmore are home run hitters, so why would this be a factor? It doesnt have to be a homerun, the ball flies farther. line drives to the left fielder become line drives off the fence. It boosts numbers no matter what
  17. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 09:02 AM) Guys, Alshon Jeffery is-like-really good. Startlingly good, even "this guy would be considered good on any other team" good. Thats pretty cool. More like "one of the best wide receivers in the league." QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 08:53 AM) I thought they are claiming it's strictly for health issues. That he was never 100% this season and he is getting sacked so much they don't want to risk further injury. Mike Tanahan is about to get the Dan Snyder sendoff, like everyone preceding him. Snyder will never win in DC, he is simply too much of a meddler.
  18. I love a toasted Spicy Italian from subway with giardinera, but if I had to choose i would go to Jimmy Johns every day and twice on sunday for the Italian night club
  19. Love it. Can't wait to see more

    2013 TV Thread

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 08:56 PM) he's too busy writing floppy weiner songs. He is too busy doing media tours and book signings now. The show is the best thing that happened to him and the worst thing that happened to the continuation of the story
  21. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) LOL you just quoted one of my tweets. I took that from something bucket-of-suck said in the Viciedo trade thread. Coco has been outed
  22. Anyone having issues with yahoo mail on their phone?
  23. i hunt with telekinetic ability. I think it, and the deer drops. Safe and humane for all. Then I get it butchered and send Big Sqwert his half
  24. Honestly, why push it? And im not even being Bears fan "haha funny he is hurt". I really have to wonder if Rodgers can go on a superbowl run after not playing for as long as he has
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) It'd be impossible to argue otherwise. It is very possible. Santiago isnt nearly as good as you think he is
