QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) He's the same age as DeAza. He's a defensive upgrade, but an offensive downgrade. Sure, if they were willing to give him up for Gordon Beckham, you'd think about it...but that's not going to happen. Offensive downgrade? In one category, home runs. Span is better at hitting doubles, triples, has a higher career batting average, OPS, is a better base stealer, takes the same amount of walks, strikes out less. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/spande01.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/deazaal01.shtml Im not seeing much of a downgrade at all.

Goldberg-Ryback would be fun, Taker-Sting would be epic. The first 2014 RAW will probably let us know where both of those matches stand

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) And they know Boras is the guy to make them f***ing richer than s***. Seriously, Boras is the Michael Jordan of agents. Until someone actually knocks him off of his perch, he is the man. Now if Jay-Z can get Cano $300 million, they we might have a real discussion about who is the man, until then, I don't think so. Athletes know, sure. My argument is more towards Boras being able to jump into the music industry. I dont think it would be nearly as easy for him

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 02:34 PM) Man this thread got REAL DUMB over night. quality attempt at making it smarter. Dont like, dont post QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) Boras would have access to artists the same as Jay-Z has access to baseball players. Now I agree Boras would have a big challenge to be successful, but if he hired the right people, and we agree both industries take similar talents to be successful, then why not? Totally disagree. Boras could force access, of course, but Jay-Z has access simply by being Jay-Z. Athletes know him and love him for his music and fame. People know Boras, but musicians arent gonna want to hang out with him because he negotiated a fat contract for A-Rod. Athletes want to associate with Jay-Z because he made The Blueprint, they know he is successful, he parties when he wants, gets what he wants.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) I find it interesting how much people believe the President should be personally involved in. What level of involvement should the President have had in designing and writing the code for the website? Did he personally look over the code and approve it? The way I look at it is this, he put his name on it, his circle created it, the buck stops with him. I certainly dont think he needs to know what the code is or anything like that, but the roll out was incredibly bad and full of glitches. This is peoples lives and health, it shouldnt have been this bad in todays age of technology.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:08 AM) http://charlotte.cbslocal.com/2013/11/08/r...care-exchanges/ So one person signed up, didn't pay, and had his information given to con artists . Well done Mr.President, well done. I can't even think of a more hilarious failure. Watching the Obozo circus is always good for a bunch of laughs. It said someone was trying to obtain information, not that information was given.

So my TV broke a few weeks ago, and I needed one in a pinch so I found a deal on Walmart.com for a Cielo 46" HDTV for 340 bucks. So far so good, although I am really hoping that I dont get burned by an offbrand. Honestly I cant find much on Cielo at all. It is a chinese company, and there really isnt much online about them except in the Walmart customer reviews(which for the most part are pretty good, but I take it with a grain of salt)

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Agreed. It's pretty awesome. If you likes the first, you should dig this one as well. Any theory on credit scene with Benicio Del Toro.

Slow pitch softball thread
Kyyle23 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Season over. Lost our championship game, had a really bad 5th inning, gave up nine runs, our pitcher walked 5 guys in the inning and we threw it out of play twice. Ended up losing by 7 runs. Came in first in the summer(lost the championship game) and second in fall(again lost championship game. Lost 7 games all season. Good seasons, but very unsatisfactory finishes to both. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 7, 2013 -> 02:06 PM) This will suck if he gets re-injured after a shady tackle by Suh. How many of those will the NFL allow him to get fined for this season before he actually gets suspended? It seems like he has been fined every week

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) Easy their tiger. It's only a few games in the season and you're ready to make that kind of statement? Pettie, let me introduce to you to J4L....

I like what he said when you see it all. B&B took a snippet of the conversation and made it look like Marshall was condoning Incognito

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) The only item I see now that may still be listed wrong is this 39" Vizio 1080p LED Smart TV for only $398. On the main page it shows this TV for $1700, but when you click it it's now $398. That's a great deal if I was in the market. http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-E390I-A1-3...62-TJR-23565842 Actually that kind of makes sense. The Vizio 42" Smart TV was listed on Yugster this morning at 498 bucks

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Not really because Ozzie was being derogatory to a major portion of the community that the Marlins wanted in the seats. And as soon this stuff came out Incognito was off the team. Ozzie was suspended pretty quickly, and eventually it cost him his job
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 01:06 PM) I can't imagine any coach who's not already a huge friend of Ozzie being willing to take him onto his staff. That's a ridiculous level of distraction from your 3b coach. Seriously, imagine having the media crowding around your bench coach after the game waiting for him to say something stupid and then having to clean up his mess for a week or two every year. Maybe if Joey Cora gets the Mariners job I could see that, but then would Ozzie be comfortable being 2nd fiddle to a guy who was 2nd fiddle to him? Well, Lloyd McLendon got the job, so that aint happenin
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) I assumed when he said "look into taking advantage of" that it was something that would require effort on the part of the Sox. If the Cubs leave WGN and that leads to increasing White Sox viewership on the same channel, that doesn't require any effort on the part of the White Sox. Although I'd consider giving up a kidney to get them off WCIU, if that helps. *grabs scalpel*

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) If Martin has indeed tried to kill himself before, it is unreasonable to expect him to start being a tough guy and self-advocating against one of the biggest douchebags in the world. Martin may not have the best psyche in the world to handle the rigor of the NFL, but nobody should have to deal with what he was getting and I'd imagine he would have been fine without antagonists like Incognito and whoever else was involved. Incognito Sr putting those suicide attempts out there in the public is pretty low, if they are in fact true. And if they are in fact, true, then Jr and the entire Dolphins coaching staff that suggested he needs to be toughened up need to get suspended. What happens if it comes out that Martin has had head trauma and is suffering from CTE, leading to some sort of depression that leads to suicidal thoughts/attempts? That would be a collossal PR clusterf*** for the NFL

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 09:24 AM) ? He has had anger issues dating back to Nebraska. Probably high school if someone dug it up. His dads messageboard posts pretty much reaffirm Jr's line of thinking
