Abreu jersey # prediction
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) Baseball history insists on a bribe for a number to change hands. Well if the Sox sign McCann, we will have a baseball history enforcer on hand to make sure this happens the correct way

Abreu jersey # prediction
QUOTE (bruni @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) Already taken by Johnson. Doubt they get him to switch but maybe... I think if Abreu said "I want 45" then Johnson would not have any say in the matter

QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 07:36 AM) Survivor Series is a pretty big PPV and to wrestle his former student it wouldn't shock me, but you're probably right. 3 Survivor Series matches would be pretty sweet. What happened with Kane? A buddy told me he returned but thats all I got out of him. I was waiting around for the fantasy basketball draft that never happened. Kane interrupted the Wyatts beating on the Miz, and then he beat up the Miz and popped the Pyro and left

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 01:06 PM) Didn't Marshall punch a women in the face at a bar like a year ago? something happened at a bar like a week before he was traded to the bears. Some brawl at a bar, he was accused of hitting a lady when everyone was throwng haymakers. Nothing came of it, whatever happened.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) 5 years ago Merriwether is getting bonuses and featured regularly on "JACKED UP" segments with those same "dirty" hits. In my book beating your girlfriend is a much, much worse offense and he's absolutely right to call out Marshall on it. What the league celebrated 5 years ago and fines now is irrelevant. The guy has lost more money in fines for repeatedly hitting people in the head than I have made in my entire life. Does Marshall continue to beat his wife? Hell, Brandon Meriwether was arrested for drunk driving. Should I hold that against him because it is a social no-no? he is a dirty player and broke the law too.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Just because he's a Bear that doesn't mean that his history magically goes away. Say what you will, the man has struck a woman, which in itself is s***ty. I totally agree with that, and i havent excused him for it. All I am saying is Meriwether repeatedly does the same thing over and over, and Marshall hasnt hit a woman in years. Marshall realizes what he did was wrong, Meriwether thinks the league is wrong for telling him to hit low. And on top of it, Meriwether thinks it is funny. Both of them did s***ty things, but Meriwether keeps losing money for it.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
Let me know when Brandon Marshall starts celebrating beating his girlfriend. Marshall served his punishment, has tried to repair his life and attack his mental disorder head on. Meriwether has been fined over 100k THIS SEASON and thought it was hilarious enough to joke about after the game. f*** him

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) 50 of the 53 players on the Packers roster have only played for the Packers. John Kuhn played 9 games with the Steelers in 2006 Ryan Pickett played 5 years with the Rams. Seneca Wallace is the third player, having played for a couple teams. Johnny Jolly played in the Midwest Penal League

Ozzie still out begging for a job
QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) True. But I've seen it here for years, the more one or two people champion a certain unpopular point of view, the further to the other side the group gets. "He wasn't too bad" in the face of "he was pretty good" eventually becomes "he was the worst manager of all time" in reply to "Revolutionized managing". It gives us something to do. I haven't seen "the worst manager of all time". I see a lot of "he got worse every season after 05"

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox
Outside of the final call, did anyone see the pitch FX chart of Dana Demuths strike zone last night? Holy f*** was he all over the place http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/zoneTr...p;prevDate=1026 Right handers had the worst of it

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 11:11 PM) I wondered that as well. Who would you rather face...a decent hitter in Jay or a guy who hits like a pitcher in Kozma with a force at every base? I think the answer is pretty damn simple there. Pedroia more or less bailed out Farrell, but Salty's throw screwed everything up. FWIW, I thought it was obstruction the moment the play happened and I thought they'd actually call it at third base. The fact the home plate umpire had to call it later was so anti-climactic. I think the 3b umpire did call it, he pointe at Craig immediately

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox
I think Middlebrooks raising his legs is what ended up being the obstruction. Crazy ending
