QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) ISU should try and make the dance for once before you start taking shots. Yeah the Illini suck right now, and yes I hate them but they have a history and ISU doesn't. Also, ISU hasn't played s*** this year either and are lucky to be getting votes right now. Congrats on barely beating a consistent A-10 bottom feeder @ Redbird though. Well little do you know St. Bonnie's has a legit team this year and will finish in the upper third or so of the A10 if not win it. Feel free to quote me on that at the end of the year if I'm wrong And was not taking any shots as I've already admitted in this thread that Illinois is better then ISU(though maybe I was wrong because SIU, and ISU are both better then Bradley). I just like to poke fun at the people who say that ISU has a 1% chance of beating Illinois if they played when it's closer to 25%. -
QUOTE (chisoxt @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) I for one hope that KW will be kicked upstairs soon and Hahn assumes control of the team. Face it, 05 was great but it was fluke. Since that time, Kenny has used the approach of leveraging prospects for older veteran types who have bigger contracts. Eventually, in order to have repeated success at CONTENDING we have to eventually develop a strong farm system where we not only develop good players but maybe actually keep a few of them. With the decline of hormone and amphetamine use, baseball to a large extent is reverting back to old days when power wasn't as important as pure fundamental baseball skills like speed, defense, on-base %, etc.. Things worked out OK in the last few years when we had the gate and advertisers to support a larger payroll, but with some bad seasons recently and a poor economy, I do not see Kenny's strategy of acquiring older and more expensive players , whether through free agency or trading prospects, as being sustainable. Sure getting Jake Peavy was great and our rotation is shaping up to be awesome next year but what about the rest of the team? I see us leading the league in quality starts but finishing in third place. What about the other holes on the team? I know that as a fan, I am in the minority here, but I think that future success will hinge on a younger team developed from within. Look at our farm system during 2007, and look at it now.

ISU gets 4 votes each in the AP and Coaches poll. Funny they have 3 more votes then the team they don't have a shot in hell of beating in the coaches poll, and only 1 less in the AP. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) Except cry about Stanford running the score up on them, even though USC does it whenever they can. Ok, but back to Saturday's game Carroll was taking knees, and not running up the score so he did nothing wrong Saturday. Once UCLA calls timeout it's fair game. -

Too bad it was not the MVC-ACC challenge, the ACC would lose for once. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Anyone got a Google Wave Invite for me? QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) Marcus, if you get that Wave invite you gotta hook a fella up. If you guys want one still PM me your email, and I'll send you one. Same to MHizzle who I couldn't quote.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) Birds move to 6-0 behind Eldridge's 28. Too close for comfort at the end, but they're the best team we have played yet. Their ridiculous shooting from the arch kept them in it too. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) I'd feel the same way, if Carroll didn't b*tch and moan about what Stanford did to them. Carroll was Knee'ing the ball to end the game and not run up the score, and clearly UCLA wanted no part of that. So if UCLA is still playing, then USC should still be playing too. Carroll did nothing wrong. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 12:50 AM) Almost a huge brawl at the end of the USC-UCLA game. USC was taking knees up 14 with under a minute to go but UCLA was still calling timeouts. So on 3rd down USC ran a play action pass and scored a TD and then celebrated pretty extensively on their sideline. The UCLA started heading towards the USC sideline and got over half way there before they were stopped. Nothing wrong with what USC did there, UCLA was calling timeouts so they were still playing which means USC should still be playing too. I'd feel sympathy for UCLA if they wearn't calling timeouts and USC did that. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 12:53 AM) Not sad for them since it was Golden's brother that punched Jimmy in the eye. How does that change anything? -

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 11:00 PM) You say that in a positive way when I think it shows more that they shoulda been a lot worse than 6-6 It's a lot better then being 6-6 last year and getting destroyed in games? or the year before? I think it shows they could have been anywhere from 3-9 this season to 9-3 this season if things went one way or another. It's not positive I'm just sad knowing what this team could have done with a defense worth a s***. -

6 losses for Notre Dame, all 6 of them came down the to the final minute. It's sad knowing that Jimmy and Golden are probably gone after seeing the show they put on tonight. Thanks D for being absolutely awful all season. -

Redbirds win 93-53, 5-0 Yep Bradley beats the Illini, MVC over Big Ten. But ISU wouldn't have a shot in hell of beating the Illini. Don't worry Jimbo ISU plays Utah in a couple weeks to so we can beat them and Bradley. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 04:32 AM) Assassins Creed 2. That's all I need to say. Is it good, or repetitive and boring like the first?

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) Exactly, $1 mil a year that Florida could easily match if it came down to it and an extra 4 years that probably won't even matter after an eventual raise and extension/buyout depending on how things go isn't going to be the reason Meyer leaves. And you don't think ND could up the bar once again? I'm not saying it's going to happen but it's a fact that ND would win the money battle. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) 09 opening bench: Wise, BA, Betemit, Lillibridge, Corky Miller 10 "potential" opening bench: Kotsay, Jones, Vizquel, De Aza/Nix, Catcher Quite the improvement.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) His current contract at Florida pays him 24 million for 6 years. Yeah, totally on a different pay scale. I'd rather have 50 million dollars then 24 million, but that's just me. -
All you can really say to this is ok

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) I assume you get an achievement for it, that's why I keep trying. Twice I've beaten the "easy" side (where you start), but then I start the other side and die from that huge dude in the armor (who I don't remember from the game). I'm too lazy to google it, but I also thought there was another airplane style level you can unlock. It's an insane time to be a gamer, which more than makes up for the awful summer. Dragon Age, MW2, L4D2, GTA Ballad of Gay Tony, Uncharted 2, God of War pack, and the new Mario. I just don't have the time to play them all, though each has been fantastic (except GTA - the formula is old and boring and I think that could be one of the last GTA games I'll pick up unless they change the structure of the game). He's a juggernaut from special ops mode.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 01:11 AM) As opposed to Florida football, which is broke. He'll get paid either way. The pay difference isn't that big. ND could blow Florida out of the water with the money they can offer. Either way I doubt he leaves too. I just really hope they don't fire Weis without someone they know can take over the program and be successful, I'd rather not go through 3 years of a terrible coach because they fired Weis at the wrong time. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) I would be pretty stunned. Why would Meyer leave Florida? I think it's just wishful thinking on your part and I can't blame you. I can think of 50 million reasons why he'd leave Florida. -
QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) One side is a lot easier than the other.. but as far as I know you dont get anything for doing it.. Ya I played around with it a bit, the side you start on is easier I think. I just grabbed some guns and then pressed either button and ran and hide behind the tank in the vehicle room. Grenades always get me.

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) http://www.suntimes.com/chicago/know/10114...-this18.article This article? When I say, "That's a home run," my assistant pushes a button that sends an electric charge under the field that illuminates a light behind the scoreboard alerting pyrotechnicians to flip off the safety switch that activates the fireworks. It takes three seconds Umm can't the pyrotechnicians just get a live feed of the game?
