AFTER You Vote, Come Here
QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) I would say that Iam mostly in agreement with the Republican side on many stances but I had to vote for Obama. The Palin pick decided it for me.That pick was a complete joke. Don't tell AlphaDog, because that's not a good enough reason for anyone to vote for Obama.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 11:49 AM) I don't know how old you are and how many elections you have voted for, but seriously, you are voting for the President and his backup. It's like saying you don't like AJ because Hall is his backup. How many elections have you participated in when you even cared about the vp spot? If you don't want to vote for McCain, just say so and stop using Palin as a crutch. If her inexperience bugs you and Obama's doesn't, then your logic is slightly skewed. Just go ahead and put the inexperience right at the top to start, no need to wait for the main guy to drop dead. Well, it showed a grave mistake by McCain having done little research. I'm 25, this is the second election I've voted in, and the first time I've been passionate about my candidate (Obama, obviously), and Palin being McCain's running mate wouldn't have changed my vote anyway, as I've followed Obama for years. I was just curious why her being McCain's running partner was NOT a reason to decide to vote against McCain. That seemed like quite the sweeping, assuming statement (and it was). The thought of her as VP is ridiculous, it'd be quite the laughing stock. It showed a lack of judgement, a lack of vetting (considering the many issues that came up extremely quickly after the choice), and it felt like a slap in the face of the American people. Then you take into account the fact that McCain's no spring chicken, and I just don't see why it's such a dumbass stance to have changed a vote away from the GOP because of Palin. I thought it was a pretty valid reason. Again, it wasn't my reason, McCain wasn't getting my vote regardless. EDIT: It's got nothing to do with her inexperience, it's got to do a whole hell of a lot with the reason she was chosen (Hillary backers, something to rejuvenate the GOP, her lack of knowledge about many topics that are at the forefront of this election... and the fact that she's one seat from the f***ing Oval Office).

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Palin shouldn't be the reason you don't vote for McCain. I think she'd be a pretty good reason. Care to support your claim that she's NOT a good reason to avoid McCain? Just curious, really.

Who are you watching tonight for E coverage
QUOTE (The Bones @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) I'll be switching between CNN and MSNBC. Probably just DVR the Comedy Central Special and watch it after everything has calmed down a bit later in the evening. That's exactly what I'm doing...

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) If he can get to around 60%, that's ok enough. It's the TO's that he needs to cut down on. The Lakers won 3 championships with Shaq only hitting 55% of his FT's, so it can be done. Yeah, and they also had Kobe (and Shaq also had Wade when he won in Miami)... so Orlando's going to have to strike gold on another star (and that is not Rashard Lewis) in order to have a shot to win it all. I like Dwight as much as anyone, but he won't be the reason the Magic win a championship, he'll be a f***ing amazing complement to the star that does lead them there, but anyone who is rendered useless in the final minutes of a close game isn't someone you can bank on.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) Family Guy is probably the worst show on television nowadays. I found it funny in high school, but i watched a rerun on TBS of the newer ones and I was almost angry it wasted my time with a 15 minute too long joke. Seth MacFarlane isn't smart enough to do political commentary let alone write words on a paper. That. I enjoyed it long ago, but now can't even turn it on.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 04:40 AM) Orlando is an ok team, better than the Bulls no doubt but I think the Celtics/Cavs/Pistons/Sixers/Raptors are all better. That being said Howard could definitely carry them to a series victory vs any of those teams, especially if he can actually hit his free throws. I also think Orlando is the worse matchup for the bulls in the NBA. That's a moot point, he's consistently proven that he cannot hit his free throws.

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) Hey I don't feel like reading 102 pages of this. I just received a Wii as a belated wedding gift. If I had a preference I would have wanted a 360, but a gift is a gift and I'm still grateful for it. I'm sure there are some fun games for this system, I just have no idea what they are. Wii sports (the game that came with the console) was definitely not fun. In the past I've enjoyed these games: Halo CE for Xbox (not H2 or H3) MVP Baseball 05 for Xbox Goldeneye for N64 MarioKart for N64 Starcraft Broodwar for PC Suggestions for decent Wii games? Dude, if you wanted the 360, I'm looking to trade one for a Wii (or the cash to get a Wii)... so you might be in luck depending on what happens with another possibility. - Bell: Poreda could be in majors in '09
