Things that need to come back...
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Same with me. We did nothing but play outside. Video games only got played when it was pretty late out and the parents had us come inside. Yeah, we'd come inside, wait for the sweating to stop and then video games all night long and Surge/Coke/Mountain Dew!

Things that need to come back...
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) Manhunt, Street Hockey, Whiffle Ball, Kill the man with the ball, building stuff, etc... We were outside allll the time growing up. You couldn't get us to come in the house. PS...i kinda wish i grew up in that neighborhood The amount of street hockey, baseball, kickback, hotdog in gastank we played was insane. I can't imagine not being outside from about 10am until 9pm everyday in the summer between the ages of like 5 and 15.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) That same surgeon had another comment somewhere a page or two ago. A much more positive comment, no less... but I'm not digging for it!

Things that need to come back...
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) There were no video games or TV in the 1990's? It was different then and you know it. Our neighborhood was crazy. Kids f***ing everywhere outside all day long. EDIT: Boy does that sentence sound wrong!

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 10:07 AM) Glad to see they kept the position. Now utilize it! Stop the damned canned music between ABs and innings. I think they use it enough. It's 2011 for cryin' out loud. The mix right now is perfect.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) Until he tore his back in half last year, he was doing just that -- dominating in his recent starts. I hope he can get back out there and continue where he left off, sooner rather than later. Yeah, I believe I was watching MLB Network where they always show the rankings in the background and JFP was like 3rd in the AL in strikeouts prior to that start.

Adam Dunn
QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) My glass is half empty on Dunn. He strikes out about 40% of the time and is barely hitting .200. At least he doesn't clog up the bases. We gave up a lot of money and a #1 draft pick this year. This will go down as one of Kenny's worst moves, I believe. Genius. Of all the players to pick on, I'd think Dunn would be the least to worry about. He is the most consistent hitter in baseball.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) Jake has really done nothing to piss me off. I appreciate that he is working as hard as he is and wants to win so badly and I'm sure his teammates and manager do too. I just hope that karma pulls through in this instance and he can stay healthy. I think he will. I'm with you on this. I would like to quote this post to prove your awesomeness. It's frustrating... we all know we have this world-class starter on our favorite team, but the guy just can't get out there. It will be very rewarding if/when he is able to put some starts together and dominate.

Humber
Hilarious typo was HILARIOUS! If all goes well, we'll be looking at 1-2 Humber starts before Just Fing Pitch comes back for a month. Then, when some other injury comes up, we'll be back to Humber or in a position to trade for someone.

Things that need to come back...
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) It's called the Big N' Tasty now. McDLT = Arch Deluxe = Big N' Tasty. Men's Health Magazine, a well respected publication has revealed this surprising process of making a fast food hamburger patty. Gather the Scraps A company called Beef Products gathers the scraps from the slaughterhouse including the heads and hooves, once only pet food fodder, to begin making the fast food patty. Expose It to Ammonia Gas Next the meat is cleaned by threading it through pipes and exposing it to blasts of Ammonia Gas. But Ammonia is not on the nutrition label!! The FDA allows the fast food industry to keep this information hidden from consumers. Surprise! Real Ammonia? Yes, the very same ammonia you clean your bathroom toilet with. The same ammonia that burns your skin upon contact. This chemical will clean up the diseased beef of all contamination from E.coli and Salmonella. Mix the Meat Take cleaned scraps from a zillion cows and grind them all up together and form patties. Yes, your patty is not from one cow. This is why the risk of E. coli is so huge. Freeze After the scraps are ground, sprayed with ammonia and "cleaned" they are formed into fast food hamburger patties and frozen and shipped. Happy Eating! I don't know if I'm happy or not that I looked into this recently... because I'll never eat fast food again.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (G&T @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 09:55 AM) When I saw him hit the three I thought, "next time the Bulls will win by 50." Yeah, the Bulls aren't exactly a team you want to piss off... they had itches to scratch against the Kings and Hawks their last two games and game out and just f***ing dominated.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) It's really going to be fun bumping this thread if Jake comes back and throws a shutout in late April/early May. It's really going to be fun bumping this post when he doesn't. Jake Harden or Rich Peavy?

Really good lawn care deal for Chicagoland area (had to share)
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) ah so if we use your link, you get one of your deals free. I used it so good luck. Already had two co-workers jump on the deal, too, so yours makes three and now I get it for free... which is even cooler. I have no idea how that works and if it'll actually work, but I'll let you know!

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (YASNY @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Regardless, a vast majority of the posters on this board were ecstatic when we acquired Peavy. People flip easily. A month prior Peavy rejected a deal to come to the White Sox and was one of the most hated players in White Sox fandom history.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) That's fine with me. I'll be the new devil of the board. I'm NOT being mean or whatever, but I don't give a s*** what Humber has done this spring or what he's added. He's hippos***. If this were the Cubs, we'd all be laughing. But since it's the Sox there's some kinda fake hope that he can be good. That won't work on me. If I turn out to be wrong, so be it. But the odds that I'm wrong are pretty low. Like really low. You wanted the GM of the NBA Eastern Conference's first place team fired because he didn't acquire OJ Mayo at the trade deadline. Sometimes your passion takes you to crazy town.
