QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) New season of the RW/RR Challenge starts tonight.....Fresh Meat!!! That and a new season of Top Chef Masters will make for a happily filled DVR after what I can only hope is a Sox game that happened.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) It's really not meant to compete dollar for dollar with your Crap (I mean PC) laptop. See, that's the hate. My PC, running Windows 7, has never had an issue and performs at an extremely high level while running all of my graphic and web design programs at once. Keep rolling with your uneducated opinion, though.

April 7th Game Thread vs Cleveland
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2010 Season in Review
If you go to weather.com, there is a huge 2 hour window where they predict no rain from 7-9pm, then the percentages don't go much higher. This game will be played, but expect 5 innings from JFP before a short delay. -
I'm not meaning to hate here. I've used a G5 in the past for my profession and it was a phenomenal machine. The hate in this thread really seems to be toward Windows PCs, that some users just can't even bother with despite the great pricepoint and incredible performance. Thus, they are forced to purchase a lesser product at a higher price, or go balls out and spend $1500 on a Mac laptop. Anyway, that's just my review. The iPad is pointless. If it were half the price, it might be worth it, but still the highest storage is what? 64 gigs? My PC laptop eats that for breakfast!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) I still think the Billups trade was a very intelligent move, they weren't going to get back to the title level, especially as Sheed fell off. Moving Billiups destroyed that season, but it freed up a ton of cap space that could have been used to start to rebuild on the fly. The first mistake was not committing afterwards to rebuilding by rapidly trying to move Hamilton's contract as well...or by trying to stockpile draft picks, whatever. Ben Gordon and Villanueva signings were just moronic and compounded the problem. It's only intelligent if you use the cap space properly. They are stuck with Gordon and Villanueva at bad contracts for another 4 seasons, while Billups himself is STILL a gamechanger, and looks to be so through the end of his contract next season. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) I don't have a laptop. I avoid windows machines. I often work night shifts and weekend shifts where I am required to sit in front of a computer for 12 hours at a time. A Mac laptop runs about $1,000, and I wouldn't use it for any serious productivity tasks. I wanted something for internet surfing, to read books with, to watch movies on, to check my email, etc. It serves my needs absolutely perfectly. Really? With the glare on the screen? Your eyes will not thank you. Any light in the room or heaven forbid if you read outdoors and you don't stand a chance.

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) April showers bring Tyler Flowers? Only if AJ tears an ACL while slipping on the wet grass behind home plate. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) I don't know why it is that Apple inspires such hate from certain people. It's not hate, it's just a realistic opinion. I have a laptop. The iPad brings nothing new to the table, and it's inability to connect to a printer, to view java, the less-than-optimal WiFi performance, the smudgy screen, the glare on the screen... plus the fact that it weighs about the same as a netbook and like 2.5 lbs less than a laptop you can get for cheaper that has way more features and compatibility... how is this a device anyone really needs? I guess if you don't have a laptop, and for whatever reason you'd want to spend more than a laptop to have apps that are just prettied up versions of things you can get on the web, but that you have to pay for in some instances, well... I'm rambling but this is a product that brings nothing new to the table and is more of a gimmick and a "oh look what I got" device than anything else.

I picked up God of War III today, given how amazing the demo is, but I probably won't play it for awhile since The Show consumes my every waking video game time. I've got the Sox at 32-17, which is pretty darn solid.

I picked one of these up to test our product on at work, so I got to play around with it a bit today. What a completely pointless piece of technology.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 09:24 AM) pti is on because it's terrible.... I hate stupid people saying their stupid opinions loudly. I really like PTI as long as its Kornheiser and Wilbon.

They're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. At least the 2 seed is clinched, we're now tied with the Sharks, and the big boys are starting to put the puck in the net again. 50 wins baby!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) The Jason Heyward phenomenon is officially out of control. Since the HR yesterday, he's been compared to Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds. He's the talk of every baseball site there is right now. Everybody is going nuts in trying to acquire him in fantasy leagues. Didn't Jay Bruce have an OPS of, like, 2.000 through his first week with the Reds? Calm down, people. Hey look here! IT'S THE VOICE OF REASON! Heyward does have the look of a stud, though In other news, two solid ballgames on MLBN tonight.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) I think you need to listen to the interview again. i think you need to read the edit!

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) I heard it and it was terrific, Gordon gives a great interview. I love the way he defended his self preservation during the turning of the DP yesterday. Yeah, that's the best player interview you can have... better than AJ somehow.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) You lyin'. I've got to hear this. They'll have the podcast up tonight, and I'm not lying. This kid is so composed and natural... I can't wait for the national media to get ahold of him truly. He's a superstar on and off the field.

I really hate gotchya media these days. Like the President doesn't have enough on his mind, if he on the spot mispronounces something let's jump all over him. GMAFB. -
I'm late posting this, but this has been a great interview. I recommend everyone listen to the podcast tonight. Bernstein goes "Boers wouldn't, but I would have packed your bags and taken you to the airport to get Adrian Gonzalez." Beckham then says to Boers "you are SO stupid." This kid rocks.

You had some awesome seats (and an awesome camera).

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) OK Mods, I am going to dance around this as much as I can and if one of you think it's against the rules please delete immediately... I think, looking back, especially at his upper body in his first year with the Tigers, Maggs might have been getting some help that many of us rip other players for using Didn't Canseco name him? It largely got forgotten because he was trying to blackmail Maggs. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/24/sports/b.../24canseco.html

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) Well that's because in the NFL, they play through most weather, and in baseball, they rarely do, so that is why it's already in Madden. Not a big deal to me, but it will be cool to have to hurry to get a game to be official before it gets cancelled. I remember a game that had weather, High Heat Baseball 2002. Awesome f***ing game, actually... I had it for the PC, and the editing capabilities were choice (nothing like what's going on with MVP for PC mind you, but still, quite choice. Having a game rained out or delayed was pretty neat. You'd have to use your bullpen in unplanned spots and stuff. So yeah, for the first few times it's cool. Then it gets annoying and you just want to play a f***in game!

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) I'm really starting to dislike this game. My 4th year, I was a full time starter at 1B for the Blue Jays for most of the season, played well, hit .295, had 12 HR and 65ish RBI. Then they send me down to start my 5th year, and promptly trade me to the Marlins. On top of all that, they are giving me really stupid goals that are making my hitting statistics decrease. And another thing that bothers me, every single time I see the 3rd base coach, it's a hit and run, and it's almost impossible to ever make contact with the ball. They throw me a breaking ball 9 feet off the plate, I swing anyway, and when the asshole runner is thrown out at 2nd, I get the failed hit and run. Yesterday I step up to the plate, runner on 2nd, 1 out, before I see a pitch, he gets picked off of 2nd. I failed my goal. -10. Awesome. It's called Franchise Mode. And it rules. Especially with this pitching staff...
