  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) One bad season at age 23 after having wrist surgery and being jerked around spots inthe lineup??? He looked like a shell of himself this year, doesn't matter what position he was at. Also, age 23 doesn't help your cause, as he should be improving from 20/21.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) The kid has done nothing but get worse the last 3 seasons. Meanwhile, his partying ways have increased. If Kane follows a simple development path of a 21 year old who nets 88 points, we'd be looking at a superstar who could have, you know, helped the Blackhawks get a little further this season. Instead, Kane continues to regress when he should be greatly improving, all the while party party party act like an idiot. How many other young NHL "superstars" do you see getting black out drunk and having multiple people claim he's assaulting a woman, and at best acting like an idiot, taunting cops, and passing out in bars. I follow sports for one reason - to hope my teams win. When I see a little s*** like Patrick Kane care more about locking down p**** of fat ugly college girls and act like a complete douchebag, it annoys me. That is because we have statistical evidence that he is not applying himself enough to improve at the craft that is giving him millions of dollars. More power to Patrick, do what you want. I've been rather consistent that I'd like to see him doing that elsewhere. Joe, we all get it, you're - how old? I seriously have no idea - but you can't even afford a cell phone with a data plan so you can't be old enough to understand. A 23 year old like Patrick Kane - hell, like Slav, where is he (I think he's 22 or 23), understands that it's time to get your ass in gear. I just don't think you can understand at this point, and you think PK is just cool as hell because he's acting like a complete idiot (and let's not forget putting himself, his career, and the Blackhawks on whole in jeopardy). PARTY ON WOOOO KANERRRRR I'd add on, but you covered everything. Of course, none of your rambling makes sense to coolmanjoe, we're just the old people that don't get it.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) Because you know for a fact that he wasn't drinking before 2009 and just started right as his numbers declined. Even though his limo pics with the two 5's came out during his 88 point season. And he missed ten games during his 73 point season. And he was switching back & forth between a new position last season. You know for a fact his antics have nothing to do with his decline in production, and this garbage season this year? Also, why did he miss 10 games? Some of them were for the "flu." The Hawks were hesitant to sign him to a long term contract due to his drinking and partying issues.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:09 AM) Not everyone can be a 50 year old trapped in a 20-something-year-old body. PARTY DUDE LET'S GO CHOKE SOME b****ES! QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 15, 2012 -> 07:17 AM) There's something different between getting black out drunk and getting black out drunk and choking a woman and harassing police officers. 23 =/= 21 - there's a time when responsibility matters. Steve, Responsibility means nothing to Joe, we've clearly established that. He's the anti-responsibility. Hopefully he doesn't look to us to bail him out of jail. As far as it costing him, it already has. His point totals the last 3 years? 88, 73, 66.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 14, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I did this this morning and honestly teared up a few times. 6 years ago to the day for me, same thing. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 14, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) I'm about 8 years removed from graduating college (ugh, i'm old) and at least once a week I daydream about how awesome those 4 years were. Sigh. Ditto. QUOTE (SnB @ May 14, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) That's the way I felt after I graduated. Damn, it was fun, but I was ready for something new. And now you're ready for something "old" again as this real-world stuff isn't all that fun after a few years either.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 14, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Nah, Kaner should have been at a library, studying or something. What in the world is a 23-year-old doing at a party where alcohol is being served? I'm appalled by his age-expected behavior. Haha, still defending him. You're sure something.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 14, 2012 -> 03:15 AM) And Assistant Captain. Both are acceptable, even though I've only heard assistant. You've only heard incorrectly. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 14, 2012 -> 07:25 AM) No, it stands for 'Alternate'. People only say 'Assistant' because it has been widely & falsely accepted as accurate. Official NHL rule book Yup.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 13, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) I grew up in a hockey family, and played hockey growing up, and have always known it to mean "Assistant Captain", so no, I don't think it would be wrong for a coach to ever say it as such. The A stands for "Alternate"
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 13, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) So I graduated yesterday. And then I woke up drunk this morning. Welcome to the next phase of your life. Moving out and driving up 57 will be one of the worst feelings ever.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 12, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) Yeah, but why? I would appreciate the crazy producer explaining to use where he was going with the show for some closure. Agreed, can they just tell us what would have happened?
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 12, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) 3 of my buddies and I got our credit and backgrounds approved today to move into a place in Chicago in mid June. First time I'm going to be living in the city. So pumped! Welcome to Illinois. This has disaster written all over it.
  12. I don't currently play, but I have been in some leagues that didn't have limits. It was really stupid.
  13. They've been enforcing it for years, you have to show the ticket before getting to the concourse.
  14. I greatly prefer 12 inch, as it's closer to baseball, the problem is when you play teams that just jack HR after HR. I know some leagues limit this. But it's not fun playing those sorts of teams, it's not even a game at that point, it's just HR derby. When you have two evenly matched teams and neither has a ton of power, much more fun.
  15. They didn't want the half-price crowd (you know exactly who I'm talking about) coming down to the 100 level, that's when a lot of fights were happening upstairs and people on the field, etc.
  16. Those uniforms were absolutely hilarious. I hope they do the rest of the big ten.
  17. Rowand44 can suck my nuts. That's a 9 on the scale.
  18. JoeCoolMan is loving it, it's model behavior for an NHL player, nothing to see here.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 10, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) Improved things from a stanley cup winner? How exactly do you do that? OK, would you like him to phrase it differently? How about not have them go straight backwards? A lot of his moves have been brutal.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) My favorites have always been: Curt Gowdy, Jim Palmer, Tim McCarver, Dick Vitale, Mel Allen, Dick Enberg, and Dr. Joyce Brothers. So you watch all games on mute?
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) Paying that much money for a dog when there are thousands waiting to be adopted at a shelter is beyond me. Rescue a dog, they usually turn out to live longer with less issues anyway. I have 2 rescues, and they are both great dogs and I know I saved them from a certain death sentence. We tried to adopt from a shelter, but the "selection" was very limited. A LOT of big dogs, not a lot of the type were were looking for, if any. That made it difficult even though intentions were there to adopt.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) Who did you want? Kitchen or Q? Well, both would be fine. But Kitchen goes before Haviland, that's not even a question. Re: Bryz...team was toast after that. However, why in the f*** are you playing the puck back to your goalie? That's a brutal idea. This isn't Xbox.
  23. They fired the wrong guy. Zero confidence in the leadership of this team moving forward. Just idiotic.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) When you read Zimmerman's explanation of why he hit Hamels though, it's just laughable...they should discard that from any part of the discussion. What did he say?
  25. He's really dumb for admitting it, but it was going to be obvious regardless.
