  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) Its ridiculous. What are you gaining out of trying to make it look like you were tripped on a face off? Such a b**** move. They just keep trying to draw extra minors or turn minors into doubles or majors. It's a joke.
  2. Well thank god that stupid graphics thing is done.
  3. I know we hate Vancouver and all...but seriously, the diving/embellishing that has gone on this series by them is a f***ing joke. I would call any team out for this bulls***. Play the f***ing game already.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) Some of us have never watched a game in hd. That seems impossible. Never at a friend's house, bar, or restaurant all these years? I call bulls***.
  5. "Dislike" this broadcast. Sorry, need score/baserunners/outs
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) In high school La Bamba's in Champaign was the place to go, but after being away from it for a while and going back it's not really that good. It tastes like s*** even when drunk.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) So it's not quite the Stanley Cup, but I got to drink out of the Calder Cup last night (AHL trophy) I hope you wiped my saliva off before you did it.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Who forced Tressel, the second best coach in OSU history out of the door? They did, because it was obvious they needed to do so in hopes of decreasing the penalties from the NCAA. Had they somehow let him stay, it would end up being much worse. They don't really deserve credit for that move...come on.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 06:37 AM) cbssports.com Pointless to post this, not what the argument is about. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) BS. If he would have pulled himself without appearing to be ineffective first we would have been talking about how he is soft. BS.
  10. This isn't directed at anyone here, but now that it's hot out, it's officially "ride around like an asshole and ask to get killed" motorcycle season.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) Anybody know of any good rental car deals in August? Ask SnB?
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 02:58 PM) A huge JFP supporter? Do you even read this forum? Seriously, he was trying to get through the inning. . You go ahead and fault him for that. I choose not to. Why didn't he try to get through the rest of the game?
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:12 AM) What do you mean the guy that puts the team before himself? What do you suppose he was trying to do? How was trying to pitch through this putting himself before the team? The guy is a competitve sob and he's certainly more frustrated and baffled by this run of injuries as we are. He's just trying to do what he loves to do and the only thing he knows how to do. He's not pitching for a contract. He could easily be Mike Hampton and just go down with every injury because his money is all guaranteed. But he tries to battle through it because he doesn't know what else to do. I'm not saying he did the smartest thing he possibly could have, but to say he is putting himself before the team is the biggest bunch of bs I've heard lately. And I am not some huge JFP supporter, but it's hard to fault the guy for trying to pitch through this when he could just as easily say "this team is under .500, they have 5 other starters, my paycheck is coming every other week no matter what..." You seem like a huge JFP supporter. Him pitching through pain is being selfish. He couldn't throw the baseball anymore. But he wants to be a superhero and keep pitching even though he's hurting the team by doing so. His agenda of being a tough guy and battling was put in front of the team's goals. That's how. There's some things you can battle through and some things you can't. When your injury prevents you from throwing the ball correctly, it's your job to stop battling through it and do something for the good of the team, not try to be the man and act like you can do anything you put your mind to, because he couldn't.
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) so you prefer the type of athlete that, at the slightest pain just gives up and says I'm done? That's fine if you prefer an athlete with that type of attitude. I prefer the type that doesn't give in and continues to work at it. Pitching is a violent motion and pitchers always hurt to some extent. You get guys like Prior who can't deal with it and guys like Peavy who try to work through it. You can have Prior, I'll take Peavy. Slightest pain? Seriously? Did you even read the article? Unbelievable. I assume you didn't, so I'll quote him: "(After that) I couldn't throw one ball where it was supposed be thrown," Peavy said. I prefer the type of athlete that puts the team before himself. He said he couldn't f***ing throw a pitch anywhere he wanted. Get the f*** out of the game. I'll take a wild guess which side of the Cutler equation you were on.
  15. Bye bye #1 host Fullerton. Wear it Jason.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) So Peavy tried to pitch through the pain after the botched double play, and the result was he gave us no chance to win the game....AWESOME! That's not called being a grinder, that's called being stupid. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,1007957.story He's a f***ing idiot, there is no way to possibly defend him at this point re: continued fighting through injury, but I will love to watch people continue to try.
  17. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6628582 How it could have been handled
  18. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) I wish Marty McSorley could play one shift against Burrows.... Um, no?
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) It's really not that common in college though. Sure, it happens, but the good conferences have enough pro prospects in their pitching staffs that it's not too often. The problem is mostly from worn out pitching staffs, which unfortunately happens more in regional play. In the CWS, many years the scores would be way too high. HR's get old. Worn down pitching staffs maybe, but balls were flying.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) Personally, for the sake of college baseball, I hate the new bats. No more "ping". It has really impacted a lot of natioanl programs too since power is just so far down that teams who were built on power are just getting killed (see LSU). The reality is there aren't many guys who early in there college career are going to be able to rake with regular bats. However, I understand the safety use of things and I also understand that from a talent evaluator standpoint if everyone used wood bats it would make things easier. I hate college baseball games where both teams score double digits. Hell, I hate working HS games where that happens. The game was becoming (or really already was) a joke.

  22. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) Should I be prioritizing elsewhere and not focus on a relationship given the fact that I'm a recent college graduate looking to work on a career or at the very minimum, put some money in my bank account? Do what you want, but I would stay in contact and see what happens. However, the above troubled me...you don't have to prioritize elsewhere. Just because you are interning and want money doesn't mean this girl isn't awesome, or even "the one." I mean who knows when/where you'll meet her. I wouldn't count her out just because of what other things you have going on right now. She doesn't have to be THE focus.
  23. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) I've never met a Canucks fan. I've met plenty of Boston fans and that's enough for me to say Go Canucks. I've never met a Heat fan. I've met plenty of Dallas fans and that's enough for me to say Go Heat.
