QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) If this were an open invite, I'd be getting trashed tonight. Well I'm pretty sure we need to drink at some point, you seem like a fun guy.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) He really goes to the "Is catching the front corner of the plate, instead of passing over the whole plate" debate for being a strike. Uh, that's not a debate

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) In this year's Soxtalk awards, can we PLEASE have a worst poster category? I'm willing to get my fair share of votes, but the person who WILL win needs to know it. I wish I could just tell him, but I can't. Damn, sorry Milkman for mentioning the free concerts. You're welcome to come over and enjoy them too. First beer's on me.

Having Old St. Pat's block party right across the street from my building is awesome. Free concerts tonight and tomorrow, and I don't have to pee in a porta-potty or pay a lot for beer.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) Stalberg was one of mine through November 15 last year. Then, he hit a wall. I think he can be a decent NHL player. However, his play after that date pissed me off enough where I sold my replica on eBay for only $80 and I paid $180 for it. The question is, what poor soul bought it? Well that was just a bad jersey choice from the get go. Eek.

He's a dumbass and deserved to get hurt, especially considering what just happened, but more than that, he's a f***ing prick for this quote: "I thought: I've lived a good life," Carmickle said about dangling.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) So you are of the mindset that any college player who can play in the pros should leave as soon as possible? I'm not. I like when they stay and get a little more seasoning. Any player who can play in the pros and make a s*** ton should do it immediately, yes. It's only logical. You like it if they stay. But you aren't them. Hell I'd love if guys stayed all 4 years, college basketball would rock. But it'd be stupid for guys to do that. -
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) I went to a wedding last night and night and I have a portable breathalyzer that I like to check in with after a night out. There were bottles of Tangueray Vodka on every table and an open bar. I blew .03 upon my return home. Today, no wedding and only a bottle of wine in the house. Ed Farmer: "Light it up"! I also might buy a ukulele. That's not high...? Right when you got home?

Curb was hilarious. Teaching her how to use a tampon, epic. I almost cried during last week's episode of Friday Night Lights. Sucks there is only one left for the series. What a great show.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) And? Does that diminish his attitude? First when he said he was staying everyone was saying he's lying, now you cant accept his words for the truth. Maybe the kid just meant what he said, that he wanted to be a college kid longer. Thats what I wish more college athletes would want instead of the dollar bills. It's not really worth the risk just to "love" college basketball. I mean, it is their career. You wouldn't stay at your old job paying you $20K a year if another company offered you $500K to do similar work in the same field. Will he love college enough to stay all 4 years? It's still leaving early, same principle, if he leaves after 2. -
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) Whats the deal with Kyle Beach, I've heard his name as a supposed stud prospect but still no chance to make the team? He's not ready. Takes too many shifts off a night, especially in his own zone. Still has some growing up to do, too. Rockford sure gives him a f***load of ice time though, and in all situations. They are sure trying to get everything out of him. But he ended the year poorly, Hawks brass weren't happy with what they saw late.
-
No one's denying he wasn't involved with what happened, but there's no fault. Come on...how far do you want to track it back? Who hit the ball that went to Hamilton? Who threw the pitch allowing him to hit the ball to Hamilton? How about the people that built the railing at that height, even if it meets standard? The people who made the decision to put the electronic scoreboard there and have a gap? You could go on and on.
-
Hamilton wasn't "responsible" for his death. So he'll be looked upon poorly if he's not sending million dollar checks to the kid's house? Come on. Hamilton doesn't have to be this kid's father figure, that's ridiculous.

If you can't wait a few pitches for an at-bat to be over to leave or come back to your seat, there is something wrong with you. I mean, you don't piss yourself the instant you have to go to the bathroom, do you? You are able to wait the minute or two it takes to get there, I assume. Minus an absolute emergency, there is not any logical reason to not wait until the end of an at-bat to leave or come back, period. You aren't more important than the rest of the people in your section, and your actions shouldn't detract from them watching the game.

QUOTE (typewritermender @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) I'm wondering if I could drive down to the stadium during the day, leave my car, take the El downtown to meet my friend, return to the park on the El for the game, then grab my car and drive into the 'burbs after the game ends. Not sure how no one has come up with this yet... Park & Ride What is the White Sox Park 'N Ride? U.S. Cellular offers "Park 'N Ride," a service offered Monday-Friday in which fans can park in Lot A is accessible from Wentworth Avenue between 33rd and 35th Streets. Cash ($23) and parking coupons for that day's game will be accepted. Why fight rush hour traffic - use Park 'n Ride!

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) She stood me up, and then I told her to end herself. And that was the end. PS, she ended up in an accident that took her away about 3 months later. And no, I didn't have anything to do with it, nor did I even know until a friend of mine told me about it when it happened. As bad as it sounds, I couldn't care less. What the f***?
