  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 11:32 PM) That wasn't a shot at Illinois. It was a realistic statement. I don't see Illinois winning the Big Ten as long as Ron Zook is the coach. I would think many Illinois fans would agree with that statement. However, if you doubt Illinois is a bottom feeder, look no further than their conference record. In the last 9 seasons Illinois has one winning season in conference play with a record of 21-51. We're not a bottom feeder right now - we're talking about current/future state of the program, per your original post. Last 9 years not exactly relevant to that.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Absolutely. They aren't favorites, but it's not unimaginable they win one in the next few seasons. Some have them as a darkhorse for it this season, if Wisconson stumbles somewhere. He loves taking shots at the Illini, it's what he does as a Mizzou guy. Makes it sound like we're bottom feeders of the Big Ten, which is just ignorant anyway. Still pissed they beat ASU.
  3. A bad catcher will cost you pitches, plain and simple. It's not as big at the major league level as it is at say the HS Varsity level. It's not really about how it looks to the umpire, we're tracking it the whole way in. But a lot of it is perception. If you travel with a borderline pitch, that's a ball because it looks like a ball to everyone in each dugout. You can't call that s*** a strike all game and live to see the late innings. Same as if you pull a pitch that might be a borderline strike. You're showing me and everyone else it's a ball. You don't reward bad catching.
  4. We know you hate Illinois, ASU beats your team, you then say Illinois/ASU shouldn't even be close (when the line is also like 1 point). You knew it was coming.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) You know, I really hate how you make these one word posts about someone making a wrong prediction. OMG I said something semi-bold and was wrong! The horror! Well then don't make the prediction
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) Don't see how Illinois will be able to stop ASU. Shouldn't be a good one. Oops
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) My biggest minor league man crush ever was Brandon McCarthy but he's obviously not a bust. Would be nice to see what he could do if he ever stayed healthy. Mine's clearly this guy
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) I was disappointed when they debuted that new logo. I much preferred the bird in a blender. It's still ridiculous they copied USC unis
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 11:19 AM) It would be nice for a team in downtown chicago to be very good, especially with hometown talent. I would take the el up there to watch some games for sure. If they were at all seriously competitive it could be a wrigleyville type atmosphere around there. It would be nice if a team in downtown chicago was good, too bad depaul isn't located there...it's just way too tough to get people, especially students, out to those games. Every game is owned by the opposing fan base, I've been to Uconn, Louisville, Syracuse, and ND games, and it's about 80/20 visitors.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Toews needs to grow up. He isn't representing the organization very well with s*** like this. It's embarrassing. Still waiting
  11. Parenthood returned tonight, good show
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) To this day when I see a plane flying over downtown Chicago, I stop and watch it. I do the same thing, also do it with helicopters for some reason.
  13. Unbelievable. Familiar with a ton of names on that list.
  14. Nice piece from SC over the weekend: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=6929979

Sometimes I'm surprised you are alive.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 10:29 PM) And Georgia shouldnt have been too. I guess they get the benefit of being from the SEC. This is a Georgia team that finished 6-7 last year, couldnt score a TD against a C-USA team in the Liberty Bowl, have no running backs and lost their best offensive player. But lets rank them! Pretty sure Crowell doesn't count as "no running backs." Pointing out stats from one game doesn't prove your theory.
  18. Brian Kelly may have said 1-2 naughty words today, it was tough to tell.
  19. They definitely should have sent a letter. This isn't referencing this particular story, but I'm still shocked at how many adults don't regularly check their email. How the hell do they function? It's pretty much inexcusable to not check your email regularly these days, especially if you have internet at your home and/or work.
  20. HS, but still noteworthy: http://www.maxpreps.com/news/5TAGDNXZEeC-r...ving-record.htm
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) YOu can defer if you aren't working. But if you can still afford to pay them with money saved up, you don't want to defer them whatsoever. Interest grows quickly, and those never go away.
