  1. Well, he was indeed hot today, no two ways about it.
  2. They lost, but they completely outplayed them. Ran into a hot goalie making his first start, and he played fantastic. Should they lose to the islanders no, but sometimes that's how the game breaks for you. The people booing were idiots. It was far from one of their worst games.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 10:12 AM) Why would someone boo Brian Campbell? His stats are a hair BETTER than they were last year, and our PP is a thousand times better than it has been in well over a decade... The people booing are f***ing idiots. Steve, I know you watch the games...he's been awful defensively for a while now, awful. And his play leads directly to goals on our end. I don't understand you giving him a free pass.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Campbell was getting booed last when he touched the puck. About time. PP is better, f*** off...
  5. Went to Nickelback in a luxury box tonight. Make fun of them all you want, but that was pretty damn entertaining.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) Win 2 points Loss 0 points That's how it SHOULD be. However you get there, you get the points. At worst you have teams playing for the shootout, in which they still have to win. OT losses and shootout losses shouldn't count for s***. It's a f***ing loss! This completely eliminates playing for a tie. If you are going to have the gimmicky shootout, you can't give zero points to the team that lost in the shoot-out. No way. Nor is winning in a shootout the same as winning in regulation. 3 point game is a much better idea. There are even more options if you eliminate the shootout, but I don't see that ever happening.
  7. Hey it's OK though Tony, he's here to fix the PP and since the PP is better, all is well.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 09:13 AM) I know that's the ultimate goal, but you can't just jump from not making the playoffs 1 season to suddenly winning it the next, without makin some major signings. The Hawks aren't going to win the cup this year IMO, but they'll have an excellent opportunity next season if they can re-sign Havlat for a deal round $4M, dump Sopel's contract, and upgrade at the 2nd line C and RW from losing Khabibulin's contract. Who knows if the Hawks would have signed Campbell had they known that Quenneville was definitely going to be their coach. I don't think either of those 2 had a falling out before, so for whatever reason they just haven't gotten along. My guess is the Thrashers would probably trade for him to show Kovalchuk that they're serious about winning, if the Hawks really wanted to deal him. Yes but improving just for the sake of improving doesn't accomplish anything. That money could have been spent better elsewhere, even if it wasn't last offseason. But we all know they were going to throw as much money as they had out there because of the buzz or whatever the hell you want to call it. And the reason Q and Campbell are having a falling out is because of Campbell's play. Q calls it like he sees it. Wish we would have ended up with Moore, Pahlsson is kind of a meh acquisition on paper. And giving up on Kontiola, awful.
  9. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) Everyone knew that the Hawks overpaid for Campbell no doubt. But don't forget how bad our PP has been over the past few seasons. That's the major reason why Campbell was signed. And yeah when it comes to re-signing Keith, Kane and Toews, that contract is going to come back and bite us in the ass. But Campbell wasn't signed for that reason. He was signed for this team to be better than they were last season, and obviously that goal has been achieved. The goal is to win the Stanley Cup, not be better than they were last season. If his contract ultimately gets in the way of that goal, which it certainly looks like it will, then the signing was awful. Our window isn't this year and this year only. Let's also not give Campbell 100% of the credit for the PP being better. That's way too lazy of a correlation. Today's did you know: In 13 less games, Barker has 3 more power play points. And Kane runs the PP for the most part anyways.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) I actually like Campbell. I think you are all very spoiled. On the Hawks you have keith, and everyone else at D. Seabrook has holes, Walk has holes, Soup has holes. He is an offensive minded d man and a pretty good one at that. You arent going to get a good return on him. His position is defense, and he's terrible defensively. And he makes enough money to f*** us cap wise. If that's spoiled, then I'm spoiled.
  11. Buying beer in Kentucky just across from Cincy is an adventure, and dangerous.
  12. From HNIC "The players are saying that there's a lot of trouble going on between Coach Q and Brian Campbell. Q doesn't think Campbell's trustworthy, Campbell thinks he should be playing other times. And the speculation is, if you want Brian Campbell, then if you make an offer to Chicago and it's the right one, you can have him." Please, someone take him.
  13. QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) it's about damn time. that thing was horrible. It wouldn't update for an hour. Yeah, this. For only having to update score and top/bottom of inning, it was a joke.

    TCF bank sucks.

Hardly any banks take change through a drive through, that's well known. Why the f*** were you putting 84 cents into a bank? That's what a jar at your house is for, and then you bring that inside the bank.
  15. There was no conclusive evidence showing it wasn't a good goal, the angle behind the net clearly wasn't the best judgment tool.
  16. Down goes Carolina. Blow a 9 point lead with 2 mins left in regulation, 16 at one point that half. Awful strategy to wait 24 seconds to foul down 1 at the end of OT.
  17. This is going to be really bad from everything I'm reading. Edit: And now it just looks like the Kostitsyn brothers and Hamrlik know someone in a street gang that was arrested. Or something. Montreal media blew this out of the water if this is all that happens.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 19, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) If the school chose not to kick him out, I think its fine he kept him around. He tried to give the guy a chance at a good life after making a huge mistake. I don't see a problem with that. I don't condone it, but far worse things have been done by college athletes. He wasn't stealing s*** from the school, he didn't kill anyone, he wasn't dealing drugs. And you sure he become a felon? Didn't he just get probation? Either way, I think he gave Smith every opportunity to prove that he was a good guy and that he made amends for his earlier mistake. It's not Weber's fault the guy was an idiot. Edit: ugh, some ugly english in my first attempt. You didn't really just say this...

  20. You're f***ing out, I'm f***ing in.
  21. What an ugly ass game Mizzou/Kansas turned out to be. 27 turnovers for Kansas and combined they shot 4-29 from 3.
  22. LOL Which one of the three goals was Huet supposed to stop? Watch the game. It's not as easy as 3 are given up in the first, the goalie must suck. Here's a clue, he wasn't yanked because of poor performance.
  23. Anyone else have a pair of Wayne Gretzky shoes? They used actual skate laces as well. It was around year 1995, I got them at Mall of America.
