  1. Reminds me of when Buehrle hit Pronk in the mouth. Pronk missed some games as a result. I wonder if Hunter will.
  2. Funny.... The girl in santo=dorf's sig has the same wild-eyed expression that Aardsma's GameDay picture has.
  3. Hey, I think Schilling is a world-class a$$hole, but I don't believe that he faked the bloody sock. Of course, if there's evidence to support it, it just reinforces my opinion of Schilling....
  4. The postponement couldn't have come at a better time!
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) And lets not kid ourselves, We ALL watch the selection weeks of American Idol. No. Not at all. Uh-uh. Nyet. Nein.
  6. No word on whether there's a Starbuck's there yet....
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) What a great country we live in that we can have this sort of investigation and potentially an orderly transfer of that position. Once again our system works. Well, it hasn't worked yet. It won't work until Gonzales is out of a job, and Rove is indicted.

Neither of them should ever see the light of day again. I don't think Australia has the death penalty, but these two need to be locked up forever. For. Ev. Er.
  9. Danks is long overdue for his first win. Let's get it for him tonight, despite the weather!
  10. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:23 AM) There are four players that are more of a concern than Erstad is at the moment: Dye - .209 BA Konerko - .214 BA (seems to be coming around) Pierzynski - .215 BA Crede - .230 BA The Sox will be in more trouble if those guys don't produce compared to Erstad alone. Quoted for troof.
  11. Yet another in a long series of shows that I will not be watching.

    Car Discussion

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:39 PM) Haha, you drive an RSX as well Balance? I wish I had known a little more going in to buy mine as it was my first car purchase on my own. I got the base instead of the S and now I wish I had a ride with a bit more power. Yup. And I used to post on ClubRSX.com, too. I went there when I was doing my homework on buying the car, and wound up posting more in the off-topic areas. I don't want to mod my car. If I'm going to spend money to make my car faster, I'll just buy a faster car in the first place! Still, ClubRSX is a good source of information if you're looking to buy and modify an Acura or Honda. The new Civic Si is essentially the car that replaces the RSX in Honda/Acura's lineup. (The RSX is based on the Civic platform.) Beware, though, if you do a CAI (cold air intake) in a climate like ours. With all the rain we get, it's very easy to get water in your engine and hydrolock it. Bad news. I would highly recommend finding an RSX Type-S for Chicago driving. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) I am the type of person who likes a new car every 2 years at least. I never own a car 5 years. Is it a serious downside having a lease? I got 20k miles in the offer per year It sounds like a lease would fit your needs well. As long as you don't exceed the mileage you're entitled to under the lease, it will let you turn in your car, no strings attached, that frequently. AFAIK, in Illinois you pay sales tax on a lease, however. Most other states you don't, since you're not actually buying the car. This is an economic disincentive, but not a deal-breaker.
  14. This was good news to wake up to. I had to go to bed in the middle of the 5th. This is probably a good thing for my stress levels....

    Car Discussion

I've never driven a RWD car, so I can't help you there. But if you're looking for a good balance of fun, performance, and year-round practicality, take a look at the Acura RSX Type-S. I have an '04. Alas, the last model year they made them was '06. Still, it's fun, it looks good, it gets about 28 mpg when I have a mix of city and highway driving, it's 200 HP, 6-speed manual, FWD, and you don't have to keep it in the garage in the winter. It's a great car.
  16. QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) Thanks for the info everyone. Aside from the Statue of Liberty, Time Square and all the big tourist attractions, can anyone recommend some restaurants, bars, museums, etc to check out?? Disclaimer- Verify the locations before going; I don't want to accidentally tell you the wrong location. The locals can tell you how to get to each place.... I really enjoyed the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Natural History. It's on the upper west side, I believe. Walk through Central Park on a nice day. If you're willing to spend some money on dinner, my wife and I loved Babbo (one of Mario Batali's places). It's near NYU. If you like sushi, there's a great little place called Yama that was terrific. Of course, I don't recall where that is, exactly. You can look it up online. Honestly, it can be a great time just to walk through midtown Manhattan on a nice day. I really do like to visit NYC, although I wouldn't want to live there.
  17. Especially if you're willing to spend that kind of money, don't even worry about getting a car. Stay in a decent hotel in Manhattan, and you'll be able to take the subway literally anywhere in the city you're going to want to go. The one thing you will NOT want to do is drive in Manhattan. Obviously, the Stadium is in the Bronx, but it's really so easy to get anywhere you need to go (including Yankee Stadium) on the New York subway. Take it from someone who's a veteran CTA rider- the New York subway is one of the best in the world. I wish our CTA was one tenth as clean, fast, and convenient as New York's subway.
  18. I worry about the Sox taking KC lightly. After last year, they darn well better not.

  22. I still don't get how Uribe's misplay gets called a hit. Those runs should have been unearned for Danks.
