  1. You have to wonder when Damaso Marte is gonna get his statue.
  2. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 07:07 PM) I don't know, I don't feel like juries follow that 'beyond a reasonable doubt' thing anymore. Ya, I just mean that its pretty crazy that they never found the body or had enough evidence to keep anyone detained. Even though its completely unlikely, for all anyone knows she could be alive and living in another country.
  3. This is one of the craziest cases I can recall. I doubt they will ever be able to prove what happened beyond a shadow of a doubt.
  4. This may come off as insensitive but Ali? Sure he was known as a great boxer but look at him now. He is also known as a draft dodger. Id rather be myself than Ali at this point.
  5. Again, this bree might be a little heavier than your looking for but black labs are some of the best dogs there are. I had one when I was in college and had to put her to sleep in April this year and got a 7 week old puppy in November. They are very good with people and other animals and very athletic. They love to swim as well. They have short hair and the black fur is never a problem with shedding. Heres a picture of Bunny
  6. I saw a few people mentioned Accords and thats what I got and I really like it and its in your price range. I have a V6 Coupe and like it a lot more than I liked the Civic. Also, as far as Carfax there are tons of times when accidents dont get reported. Even if a car Im looking at has a clean carfax I would check all the panels for overspray and make sure the panels all line up. Also, if the price seems a little low for the car I would definitely get it on a rack and make sure it doesnt have any frame damage because if it does you more than likely will get murdered if you trade it in.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) You wont hear me disagree about this year, but every other team choked, and a young buckeyes team still had enough in them to compete in the game. If it wasnt for stupid penalties and a horrific roughing of the punter, it may have swung the other way. And please dont say USC again, theres no way a team that loses in one of the biggest upsets in football history even deserves to be near the city that the championship game is played in. USC and OSU play for the next two years, so you can very well see if there is a huge disparity in talent on the teams. Still, your point is not made very clearly. Both years you say the best team in the country won the title, well if thats true then the system very clearly worked and played out exactly as it should have been played out. Of course your theories about who would have won have no weight here and I will claim LSU would have gotten hammered by several teams in a playoff this year, nobody knows so its kind of stupid to go out there and make a statement like that. And thanks for posting the article that backs up my statement about money being the biggest driver of the BCS system. Just like I said, it has zero to do with the conference not thinking they could compete, but more about the guaranteed money that is at stake for the larger more prominent conferences. I think it is pretty obvious that it was my opinion based on the topic. Out of all the teams that were "choking" at the end of this year I would also say that number one OSU losing at home to U of I belongs in that ball park as well. They wouldnt have needed all those other teams to lose if they took care of their own business either. Just because the past two years people assume the best teams have won the championship doesnt validate the entire system. Maybe the fact that Florida and LSU both easily handled OSU is part of the reason why people think that. If those teams would have had equal competition in the championship game and the game was closer and they showed more flaws people might begin to question if they were the best team in the country. Thats a huge problem with college football. If for whatever reason you have 1 bad game all of a sudden you arent in contention for a championship. Regardless of USC's being upset they still are a good team and easily took care of their Big Ten opponent in the Rose Bowl, the same team that upset OSU. Actually all but 1 of the BCS bowls were blowouts and theyre becoming worse and worse every year. I just think the fact that football fans have to suffer so the big conferences (like the Big 10, see article above) can make more money.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) So you think that LSU wasnt the best team in the country this year and Fla wasnt last year? I would like to know who you thought were the best teams. And why would ANY major conference be hugely in favor of a playoff? It gives lesser conferences the same odds to win it all and could cut down on bowl payouts and tv airtime. The fans think of the excitement of march madness and the universities think of the fat checks they get to plug back into their institutions. No I do think they were the best teams, I just dont think OSU was good enough to be there and the scoreboard agrees. I would have liked to see someone like USC play LSU this year, I think the game would be much more competitive. Im not even saying with the current system OSU didnt deserve to be there. Especially 2 years ago it would be impossible to keep them out, I think the system is flawed. OSU would have gotten hammered this year in a playoff by a few teams.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) Yeah, too bad those teams choked down the stretch. Heres a simple formula, those teams win, they get in the title game, how bout that? Generalize the big ten as much as you want, they didnt belong in the 2002 title game either against the best team that everyone thought would crush OSU, they didnt. Both systems are flawed, but a playoff would obviously be the best, but not having the system has nothing to do with the Big Ten not thinking they could make the title game, thats the biggest load of bulls*** ive ever read. I bet the Big 12 feel the same way with the embarrassment that was Oklahoma in back to back years including the most lopsided BCS game since its inception. I was using the Big Ten as an example. Ive heard many times that the Big Ten is one of the conferences against a playoff, Im not pulling it out of my ass. I personally dont care what conference the teams come from I just know that the past two years the best two teams werent the ones playing for the National Championship and that a team in the NFL that isnt looked at as an elite team shouldnt be questioned if they win the Super Bowl because the system the NFL uses is much better at finding the better teams.
  10. QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) But the Giants didnt play but three of the teams that were in the playoffs? These college teams play enough games throughout the season to gage there respective spots in the rankings. Its not just a computer ranking them.Coaches vote?AP votes? They only played three playoff games but they played other playoff teams during the season. The point is that 12 teams qualify for the playoffs and all have a chance to win, like the Steelers 2 years ago and the Giants making it this year. Even if they didnt have to beat the Colts or Chargers, the Patriots did and for the Giants to win they have to beat them. There is no reasonable way to make sure every team plays every other team so there might always be questions about if another team could beat the Super Bowl champs but getting through the tournament structure is more deserving then a bowl game. Look at the big ten. They are against the playoff in college football because they realize if there was one they would rarely have as much a chance as they do by making it to the BCS championship game. I think OSU the past two years playing for the championship proves how flawed that system is. There were a few other teams who would have given LSU a much better game.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 05:18 PM) All signs don't point to him being guilty as much as I thought he was. The text messages on her phone points to her definitely being a cheater. Her mother disappearing and never being found in a similar fashion. Then there is also that letter stating she was spotted in Kentucky with some guy. I dunno. I know I havent been following this case as much as other people but I thought I heard the text messages were from a CPU and if that was the case I think thats extremely suspicious.
  12. Think theyre gonna ask this guy about his tupee (sp?)
  13. I cant wait to watch this disaster coming on Fox right now. I hope its as entertaining as it can be and they make it sound in the ads.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 07:36 PM) I rented it and will be watching it tonight based on your guys suggestion. It better be good I saw it in the theater and liked it. It was good because I had no idea whatsoever what it was about walking into it.
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) OK there's that commercial where people are doing little things for each other, someone sees it, and does something nice for someone else. I'm spacing on the company. Anyways, a lot of the little stuff is nice and they make sense. However, the commercial begins and ends with a guy carrying what I think is a pizza, with his head down, and he almost walks right into traffic. The lady standing there does a "little thing" and grabs him. Who the f*** walks with their head down into an intersection, completely ignoring signals and/or cars? That guy deserved to get blasted by a car. Plus, the other little things don't fit in with that lady literally saving that guy's life. Stupid example. Ya thats an insurance commercial. I havent gone back in this thread to see if it was posted but the Mac and PC commercials make me never want to own a Mac in my life.
  16. QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) What about cool dog name ideas? Ron Barkovice or Scott Pawsednik Im kind of pissed off that I got a puppy 2 months ago and Ron Barkovice wasnt suggested earlier because thats gold.

  18. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) Prison Break is back tomorrow!! One of my friends watches that show religiously but hates it and is just too committed to stop now.
  19. Two from when I was in college. One, I woke up in my apartment with a girl that I had absolutely no idea was and she was still sleeping and I pissed all over myself. I rolled off my bed and was prepared to pretend it was an accident if she woke up, she didnt. I quickly changed my pants and saw half a 40 of Silver Thunder malt liquor on my window sill and I will never forget the sticker on it that said "Only 89 cents!" I continued to open it and poor it in the vicinity of the random girl without waking her up. i even managed to get some on her pants. I was still unsure of my chances of pulling this off and only saw one option. "Wake up, you pissed all over my bed...What the f*** is wrong with you, thats disgusting." She sat there confused for a minute and looked around and apologized. She got up and walked out of my apartment only to return about a minute later and asking for a ride back to the dorms. Lucky for her my roommate took her because I didnt want that degenerate in my car. This poor girls nickname was aqua girl for the rest of the year and I think she eventually left school, however not for that. Two, when I lived in the dorms we had about 6 rooms and we all shared a bathroom on our floor. There was a kid across the hall from us that we didnt really like so one day after the bars we saw that someone puked in one of the two huge garbage cans in the bathroom. We then decided to fill both garbage cans with any liquid we could find, piss, beer, water, condiments etc. We had both of these things filled about 3/4 and propped them up against the kid we didnt likes door. We then went to the call box in front of our building and called his room and said his car was being towed. When he opened his door to run out, both garbage cans fell over in his room and flooded his floor. When I say flooded, I mean there was s*** everywhere. This guys room smelled so bad from then on out he had to switch rooms.

  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 05:36 PM) shoot... um...does anything happen in Idaho? I think Idaho brought us Napolean Dynamite. If thats the case they have contributed way more than some other states. I wouldnt mind seeing Massachusetts get eaten by the Atlantic Ocean or something...at least the sports teams.

  23. QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) I don't know, outside of the fact that their kids would probably not be normal (which may be good enough of a reason for them to not continue), I think they should accept it. When you think about it we're all related. Either Adam and Eve or the first two apes were the origin of our species. With that in mind we all started in the same spot, in the same family, so there is always a family connection between us, theirs is just a little more direct. And if they don't want to be socially shunned they can always just move to Texas. youre a glass is half full kind of guy arent you
