  1. According to the Cy Predictor: 1 Zack Greinke, KC 68.0 (6-0) 2 Roy Halladay, Tor 50.1 (6-1) 3 Mark Buehrle, CWS 44.5 (5-0) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/cy
  2. The necklaces (and bracelets) are actually licensed MLB products: http://www.phitenusa.com/c-18-mlb-authentic-collection.aspx
  3. QUOTE (G&T @ May 7, 2009 -> 08:07 AM) Does this mean we all have to apologize? nope, he still guilty of being an idiot.
  4. The thread title still says PEDs. The reports are saying it was a sexual enhancer: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ajl3...o&type=lgns Still violated the drug policy.
  5. QUOTE (BobDylan @ May 6, 2009 -> 08:47 PM) (In fact, I've never seen a golf game at night...) I played 18 holes at night in Qatar on a lit course. So that basically invalidates your entire post.
  6. Toronto, KC, and Seattle are in 1st place in their respective divisions. Anything is possible. We've been hit hard with some injuries and inconsistent play. With how bad we have played of late, it is actually pretty amazing we are only 2 games under .500.
  7. Would we be seeing any of these players if Getz, Anderson, Thome, Fields, and Dye didn't miss any time? Those 5 with Quentin, Konerko, AJ, and Ramirez make up a pretty decent lineup.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:29 AM) Almost a White Sox Pitcher Alert. Homer Bailey: Threw a complete game, shutout in his last start. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=456701 I don't think anyone of us can argue about how valuable Dye has been too this team this year. It still interests me that in a perfect economic world this deal was pretty much as good as done He has a 4.61 ERA in AAA. Doesn't look too promising.
  9. I bought a bunch thru Amazon, most under $20. Just do a search for White Sox hat. Even if Amazon does carry them, their marketplace has a bunch.
  10. The Sox will probably keep Betemit and Thornton for sure. Guys like Thome, Dye, Colon, Contreras, Dotel, and MMac will all probably be determined by performance this year, and the price they can re-sign at. Dye seems like the most likely to be retained.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Ozzie has said before that he thinks Pods is a Scrappy CF. fixed.
  12. Is he going to platoon in Center with BA?
  13. We walk 9 and still win, I'll take it. All starters with at least one hit. Half our hits were for extra bases. CQ, Dye, and Paulie all trying to out do each other. 24 runs in the last 3 games with only 7 allowed. Lets give Danks some run support tomorrow.
  14. Great read, and the site is pretty cool too.
  15. Thome hits a walk-off for 500, so they thought they could do something special for 300. Congrats to both.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 08:17 AM) Agreed, but I think that one stat floating around is also fairly indicative of what kind of QB Jay Cutler is... When his defense gives up 21 points or less, he is 13 - 1 as a starter. As I said earlier in the thread, I think quite a few of his numbers will change when he isn't forced to throw 40 times a game, or that whomever has the ball last will win. Sometimes your defense just sucks... Yeah and his leading rusher last year had only 343 rushing yards. In 2007 the leading rusher had 729 yards. Just think how much better he would be with a true running threat. Someone also made a good point about the value of the trade. If you considered Cutler the #1 pick (like if the Bears were going for Stafford), the picks we gave up would barely get us the 4th pick overall this year (based on the draft value charts). I know it is not a clean way to assess value, but looking from that perspective, the Bears did pretty good.
  17. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) That tells me enough right there. Its either going to work out or its not, I still think Denver is better positioned overall now from this deal. How is Denver better positioned now, because they have more draft picks? I guarantee every GM in the league would take a Pro Bowl QB in his mid-20's over a couple of 1st round draft picks any day of the week. Denver is now in a worse position because they are severely downgraded at the QB position, and all they have to show for the trade is unknown players from the draft and Orton. Also the Bears pick was only the 18th overall, which is at a point in the draft where there are very few sure things. I think Denver is risking more in this deal, and may end out on top eventually if both 1st rounders turn out to be something special, but right now the Bears won this trade hands down.
  18. Gonzales also posted the 25-man roster: http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....sox-roster.html So is the backup catcher decided? He is showing Miller. Pitchers Buehrle Floyd Danks Contreras Colon Richard Carrasco MacDougal Thornton Dotel Linebrink Jenks Catchers Pierzynski Miller Infielders Konerko Getz Ramirez Fields Thome Lillibridge Betemit Outfielders Dye Anderson Wise Quentin
  19. Crede close to signing with Twins: http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stove/posts/52061
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) I wonder what the government gets out of having him do a plea deal. Probably just to name names.
  21. 20 MVP Awards given out since 1990 have been given to a known PED user (with a few more possibilities). Pretty sad.
  22. A 15 win drop is huge. I don't see the Sox scoring 50 less runs and allowing over 110 more runs in 2009. Those are pretty big swings considering the minor changes they've made to the roster. A mid-80's prediction seems to be where they are at right now. How in line are these with the WS odds? I can't check from work.
