  1. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) No s***. I f***ing hate the Cubs. There is no one I hate in the playoffs, so I don't care what happens. So you hate the Cubs, who pose no threat to the White Sox making the playoffs, but you don't hate the Twins or Tigers, both of whom effect whether or not the White Sox make the playoffs. Makes sense.
  2. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) YAAAAAAAAAAWN I bet if it were Cubs news, you'd be all on it.
  3. I feel sorry for the Mets fans, but really, screw you New York! Lets go Phillies!
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) The Sox won't trade the face of the franchise. Expect a long term deal to be worked out in the offseason. I hope so as well. Plus, beautiful sig. I think its time to work on a Broadway sig for myself as well
  5. Does anyone know who'll be pitching in the season finale? I'm curious to see if Javy will pitch or not, since I've gotten to see the other 4 starters this year, but not him. (and yes, I'll still be giving the Sox a standing ovation despite the disappointing year)
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 05:31 PM) So you call our pitching staff horse s***, yet you want the Sox to sign Mark Redman and his 5.71 ERA??? What am I missing here? Dude, he's an All-Star.
  7. Yea, I saw this the other day. It's seriously one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) So Daniels would turn down a SP with World Series experience for a SS who is not really a SS? k I believe you mean a SP who is old, yet still on contract for 3 more years and nearly 30 more million for a SS that is one of the best hitters at his position and making hardly anything. Also, Timo Perez has World Series experience. I bet we could have gotten a lot in return for him last year.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) no The Rangers need SP, and Hicks has recently atleast tried to throw Michael Young under the bus. You give them Contreras, I guarantee they are offering Young plus a reliever, and KW would be dumb as hell to take that. And then said that he wanted to keep Young around, and extend his contract this offseason. http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ne...sp&c_id=tex
  10. Our best SP was actually Heath Phillips in AAA this year.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) They are both excellent #2 guys, in fact they both have an .837 OPS in that slot, Young is just a better leadoff guy than Crisp is. After coming back and looking at young's stats, he is exactly the type of guy we need on this club. Clutch, hits to the opposite field, and doesnt try for the longball in all situations. Check out these numbers for 2006: Bases empty .310 .355 .794 Runners On .322 .361 .848 RISP .411 .444 1.053 RISP/2outs .415 .483 1.049 Man on 3rd I agree with you that Young would be an excellent addition, but hell, so would Albert Pujols and Johan Santana. I think its pretty unlikely that we'll see Young in a Sox uniform next year, and if he is in one, it will be at the price of McCarthy and more most likely.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) To put it in perspective, it would be like Pierzynski's limp Polish arm throwing out two consecutive basestealers off Freddy Garcia. Or actually holding onto a throw during a play at the plate. Considering the difficulty of transfering a knuckleball quickly enough to throw, AND the fact Sizemore was running, I believe we can safely say Pierzynski would have bobbled it. Trade AJ, he sucks. In fact, trade everyone on the roster, since they all suck and their minor league counterparts are far superior.
  13. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) Does Buehrle have a lot of trade value after this awful season for him? One year doesn't ruin what a whole career has made.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) 1. Young/rollins SS 2. Crisp LF 3. Dye RF 4. Thome DH 5. Kong 1B 6. Crede 3B 7. Iguchi 2B 8. AJP C 9. BA CF If both Young and Crisp are added (something I feel is very unlikely to happen), then I'm pretty sure you'd see Crisp leading off and Young batting second. Crisp is closer to having the type of speed that Ozzie looks for out of the leadoff spot, and Young is an excellent, excellent #2 hitter.
  15. I think its pretty obvious that the answer to the thread title is reload. Even with their struggles in the second half, the Sox were one of the best teams in baseball throughout this year, and if you really want to completely rebuild after that sort of season, then you are asking for way too much out of a team.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) I for one had a blast attending a bunch of games and see no reason why that is going to change regardless of how good or bad they play. I'll still give them a standing ovation during the final game of the year in Minnesota.
  17. Oakland/Philadelphia, Minnesota, Detroit, everyone else, New York Mets, Yankees In that order.
  18. Well, it was a disappointing year, but still one of the better ones in my lifetime. It should be a fun offseason (I suppose it depends on your definition of fun), but I fully expect KW and Ozzie to switch things up a bit.
  19. Nice to see the team playing out the year.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) It's quite sad to watch that franchise for the past decade though, in terms of the mistakes management has made. I mean I honestly couldn't believe they didn't take what the Angels were offering for Miggy Tejada at the deadline. Or the Astros.. Roy f'ing Oswalt

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) Some people apparently can't handle anything aside from the usual, "I support this team until we're mathmatically eliminated," posts. I support this team period. Whether they are in it or eliminated, it won't stop me from rooting for my favorite team.
  22. I think Pablo Ozuna would do the trick, straight up Young for Pablo.
  23. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:33 AM) I'd prefer Podsednik to Dave Roberts. Roberts is not a major league starter anymore IMO. Don't tell that to him this year.. .295/.361/.400 or say, last year .275/.356/.428 That being said, I wouldn't want him either.
  24. Ross Gload 9th inning grand slam in Baltimore. I was there, making it even more special QUOTE(vandy125 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 07:36 AM) I remember watching the August 8 game against the Yankees. We were down by 1 in the bottom of the ninth when Konerko came up and tied the game against Rivera. We then went on to win the game. I loved that game. I was talking to a Yankee fan on AIM during the ending, and when Rivera came in, he was like 'its over, its over'. Naturally I replied with its not over, and the fact that the Sox dominated closers this year. It was nice to be right
