April 26 - Contreras v. Robertson
the title of the thread says day/night doubleheader scheduled, but I havent seen this anywhere. On whitesox.com it stated that the two teams have yet to determine a make-up date. Is it actually possible they try to run this back tomorrow?? That would certainly be a nice afternooon/evening.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/25/07 (L)
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) Following Buehrle's no-hitter last week, the starting pitchers have respectively lasted: 6, 4.2, 7 (10 inning game), 8 (12 inning game), 7, and 6 innings. I don't care about other contending ballclubs. After tonight there are four straight games. It's not just the extra innings games which have pushed our bullpen, but several starters (such as Danks) not lasting six innings. You should at least somewhat care about other contending ballclubs because Detroit's bullpen has been pushed a lot more than ours as of late. The Angels series was not kind to the Tiggers staff at all.

QUOTE(pcullotta @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) Dye was in the lineup yesterday. He was taken out in the eight for Pablo Ozuna. However, I did not hear why and the Sox haven't mentioned it yet today. Didnt realize he did play yesterday, I was flip flopping through channels and didnt stick with the Sox until the 8th started. This is still a bit questionable though.

Jermaine Dye??
With Dye being out of lineup again today, and not a single mention as to why.....does this have anyone overly concerned?? Usually when I team tries to hide behind why a player isnt on the field doesnt lead to good news. All the media stories and articles about last night's game was commenting on how we were able to muster enough runs and offense without our beat weapon, Thome, becuase of the rib soreness. But nowhere did I see anything commenting about Dye. I'm sure most figured that it was just a routine day off, but with 2 in a row now....that doesnt look to be the case. Anyone?? Anything??

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/25/07 (L)
from Reifert's blog..... Weather According to the experts, things will clear for a time and then the rain will return around 4-5 pm. The rest of the evening will be spotty rain and scattered showers, but we remain hopeful we will be able to play baseball in and around the rain drops. I'm really concerned that NOBODY is mentioning anything about Dye. All the articles about last night's game was about Thome having to sit becuase of the rib soreness, nobody even thought as far as to ask why the hell JD wasn't in the lineup, and again today. It's pretty evident now that he wasnt just "getting a day off" last night.

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) so whatsup with dye? I'd like to know some details on this as well... I expected for Thome to be out today, but no Dye again?

I'll take a semi-fatigued bullpen over a doubleheader with Detroit any day of the week.

QUOTE(soxfansince04 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) What is usually the first place to find out if a game is delayed or canceled before you get to the park? Radio, whitesox.com, online news? I have tickets tonight and a busy afternoon ahead of me so I want to stay in the know. Its not raining consistently hard enough for them to cancel before gametime, what we have today is one of those classic "tweener" weather days where its not quite s***ty enough to cancel baseball, but they will wait it out until there is a dry spot to start the game. Our players may very well be in for another long one tonight, hopefully theyre getting their rest after getting in early this morning.

Mark Buehrle AL player of the week
Well at least Mark doesnt have to worry about shopping for A.J. now.

70's Night Uniform Question
QUOTE(U can putitontheboarrrrd...YES @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:20 AM) there was an interview a few weeks back where it was said there are no throwback unis this year. Only the green pinstripes for halfway to st. pats day Well that kinda sucks.

Has anyone else notice Sandy Alomar in our dugout?
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:45 AM) Man Soo Lee was the White Sox bullpen catcher Anybody know the name of the new bullpen catcher?? He looks like he could be Jose Valentin's godfather...

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/25/07 (L)
Looking like its gonna be very windy and showers probable at with 70% chance of rain. I'll go ahead and say that I think they'll try and wait this one out and get the game in any way they can, but it could be a long night for those of us with tickets. http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/mlb/...1922&epc=be Danks breaks his cherry tonight!
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Lets hope they get this one in tonight.... looks much more likely that we'll get rained out tomorrow at home. 80% chance of rain at gametime tomorrow at the Cell.

Are we finally done.....
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) PODS isnt coming back. he will have to have surgery again. He'd better, cause I dont see us hitting for long with Erstad leading off. People asked to find a worse lead-off guy than Pods, ask and shall recieve. At least Pods will get an extra base hit here and there and actually get on with occasion.

Pierce to join White Sox legends in bronze
Sweet. Iguchi cannot be too far behind.

White Sox vs. Rangers, 4/19/07 (W)
I'm banking that they will have a huge walk-up crowd for this game.

MARK BUEHRLE HAS PITCHED A NO-HITTER!
This game was about as nerve racking to be at as a close playoff game. Every pitch from the 8th inning on was intense. Once he got through Lofton-Kinsler-Young in the 7th we thought he had a shot.....but that was the greatest thing about it, until the 7th it was an ordinary game...and all fans pretty much acted that way. Easily one of the top 5 games I've ever been to, a priceless memory that I will cherish forver. Cheers Burls.

White Sox vs. Rangers, 4/18/07 (W) ~Buehrle No-Hitter~
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) In 5 games started against the White Sox in his career, Millwood has a 1.32 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP and 26 strikeouts compared to 4 walks in 34.0 IP. I'll take these chances any day of the week over Sabathia, Santana, or any rookie pitcher we havent faced yet.

White Sox vs. Rangers, 4/18/07 (W) ~Buehrle No-Hitter~
QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) Just not true. When the hitting picks up, we will still not be as good as the Tigers or the Indians. Our offense cant keep up with the Tribe, and their starters are comparable, and the Tigers pitching is better, their offense is comparable, and they have a better manager. We OWNED the Tigers last year, and the Indians havent shown me the consistency yet (not that theyve had a chance) sure theyre 4-2 against us, which is saying a whole lot considering we are the worst offensive team in baseball.
-
White Sox vs. Rangers, 4/18/07 (W) ~Buehrle No-Hitter~
Look at it this way, without the pitching weve got so far, we'd be the Phillies right now. Not a good situation to be in only 2.5 weeks in. We all KNOW the hits will come, and when they do, this team is gonna be tough to beat. Maybe it will taker an old foe to get things rolling tonight, were going Millwood on that ass. Btw, completely random off topic, any promotions tonight?? Podsednik Operation Board Game Night?

White Sox vs. Rangers, 4/18/07 (W) ~Buehrle No-Hitter~
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) Garland was nails until Crede's error. After that he gave up. With good reason, the offense wasnt going to do s*** for him. Lets hope they feel compelled to score runs for Mark tonight. Probably not though. I'd like to think Jon pitched a pretty damn good game, or at least by QS standards, with at least a couple 1-2-3 innings in there. I can't blame Jon for the Kinsler shot, that kid is raking right now and basically 3 ironed that blast into the left field bleachers last night.

Ranger fans not so happy with McCarthy
....a whole offseason of people around here bashing this trade and it only takes 3 starts to sway the other way, thinking we got a steal. Hilarious. It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets any better for BMac. I really wish we got the chance to face him this week, would have been ideal for slump busting.

White Sox vs. Indians, 4/13/07 (W)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) I like our odds I don't know, I'd like Konerko and Uribe to get thier slugging % up a bit against this guy. I like Thome to have a big night and Dye to continue to bust out of this mini-slump.

Anyone else watching the C*bs implode?
How many rings has Jerry Narron won?? Freel is their starting center fielder. Coming in as a defensive replacement on a day off should almost be expected.
