  1. And the extra roster churn generated by all of the injuries, COVID, and extra roster spots put them in a place where they had to make the move now.
  2. That's why their side is going to be. But more often than not, when they are trying to make a mechanical change, there is a reason behind it. Seeing the injury history both of these guys had, there is good justification for it.
  3. The interesting thing is they also cut bait on both of those guys pretty early.
  4. We haven't even considered it either. We will get some take out, mostly from places that offer curbside, but carryout from places we know and trust.
  5. This is exactly why we haven't had a meal at a sitdown restaurant in about 5 months and counting now. We have also avoided extremely crowded outdoor settings like beaches at peak times as well.
  6. I know a lot of people are down right now, but seeing where we are with what we have faced, I am actually more optimistic than I was. There is a lot of upside for this group over the last 44 games.
  7. Charlie Morton from the Rays just went down with a shoulder problem.
  8. One of those guys won't be here until May 2021. One of those guys has missed most of the season so far. One of those guys is in a gigantic slump. They will get there, but I think most of us hoped that this core could move up the playoff date, but I think the smart money has always started around 2021 for this team really hitting the big time. The pitching injuries aren't helping that, not to mention our FA hitters have been largely hurt too.
  9. AJ would be a disaster in a coaching role of any kind. His future is in a booth somewhere. He does that really well. I am just saying that I could pair him with Jason and see what happens.
  10. Engel doesn't even have to "figure it out". He can be a 40 to 45 hitter, and still be a guy who has value to a team because of his ability to play a 65-70 CF and play all 3 OF positions well when called on. He also has at least plus speed and skills on the basepaths when needed. With guys like Jose Abreu and Eloy Jimenez on the roster he has a valuable skillset even if he isn't starting.
  11. Realistically, We wanted to see them go about .500 against Cleveland and Minnesota, and then come out ahead of the rest of the schedule. So far they have gone 3-6 against them, and 5-2 against the rest. It really feels like .500 is going to be the breaking point for the playoffs if they don't manage to get in the first two slots. When you also factor in losing two of the their top 5 starters, a key member of the pen, plus the opt out of Kopech, and 16 games into the season, they haven't had their entire starting line up on the field for one game, I think .500 is a solid achievement so far. We will see what health and performance look like going forward, but I still feel pretty good about this team getting into the dance.
  12. So we will probably get 2 to 3 innings out of Foster, and then a bridge outing from Anderson. Then we will see if we are winning or losing to see what direction we go from there.
  13. They also just said he wasn't ready a day ago.
