White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
More than anything, this sounds like Jerry, which is why I have said all along, if the other things are close, proximity to the majors and rush-ability tie break

Teel suffers LCL sprain (Pg. 5), out 3-6 weeks
It would be better to get honest answers from management, but hey, to each his own

I will go to my grave with if Andrew Vaughn doesn't skip the minors and go to LF immediately, he ends up a completely different player.

With Teel out for an unknown time, should Getz demote Quero ?
Seems like the "fixing" projects this winter haven't gone well. Quero looks like a mess.

Stop me if you have heard this one before...

Observations in Anaheim from hi8is
Not until they start pushing him up towards 100 pitches.

Yeah, as of today, McD and Hagen aren't realistic options for starters.

White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
Again, the need to label everyone you disagree with isn't necesary.

You know not everything is a Nazi conspiracy right? People just can disagree and see things differently without it being "disinformation". Calm down.

And if this were true, they need to quit their jobs NOW because they aren't capable of making their own decisions.

Signing Murakami best Sox decision in ages. Very good investment.
That probably gets his attention.

Trade
He's going to need about a month of work to get back on track, so as long as he has had anymore setbacks, he is still in a mid June to July time range, assuming he is still ramping up when they say "bullpens".

Teams offered him more money and a longer contract. They didn't OUTBID everyone.

It strikes me as the same thing as Crochet in that the Sox idea of an extension and the players idea of an extension are very different, if the idea is 4/100. Dude is going to be looking for something like double that length AND more like 30 to 35mil per year.

It also ignores if that it the original had been the 10 year $300 million deal that had been signed when Jerry pissed down his trousers to sign a top free agent, we would currently be in year eight of that deal, and would have gotten 27.2 bWAR, or 28.1 fWAR over the first 7 years (about 4 WAR per season or something under $8 million per WAR point) , not to mention 199 homers, 649 RBI, an .823 OPS, a large DWAR, etc. Literally he would have already paid for himself.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
After working downtown for 15 years, I miss Billy Goat of all places. Usually when I go through, I either pick up a double, or a rib-eye sandwich.

I remember the same thing. He didn't want a mid term deal. It was either a home run, or he wanted something short to prove himself. Pretty sure I remember reading a couple of different teams say they had higher bids out there.

The impression I had is that if the guy wasn't going to get his long term deal, he wanted something shorter term as a prove it deal. I don't think a four year deal would have gotten it done. It was either going to be a year, or two, with a return to free agency, or it was going to be one of those 6-8 year deals.

This was crazy to hear said outloud.

Colson is probably easier to get done early, as there is a lot more of his time that is in a pretty narrow band of control and expected wages. The camps for Mune and the Sox are going to be looking at this in two very different ways, where as Colson has a pretty clear set of road maps with all of the early extensions recently signed.

The interviewer did say that later. He's got to be thinking of that $300 million deal he was expected to get last off season. After this deal he will be 27 going on 28. If he hits like this the rest of the year, he HAS to be thinking of an 8 to 10 year deal instead of of a four year deal that makes his second bite at the apple at 31.

The phrases used in this were crazy. "stumbled into"... "no longer need to be convinced"

Of all places, the airports do a solid job of getting Chicago institutions into their building. The Sox could pick up on this.

White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
So this front office not only was threatened by Luis Robert to put him back into the line up, they are also afraid of Soxtalk. And you think that is better than the alternative?
