  1. Now this is a valid takeaway, and it's why the end of the Jerry Reinsdorf era can't come soon enough.
  2. They didn't have TV money for like half of this season. Again, I do not know why this person decided comparing 2025 payroll to 2024 revenue was smart, but here we are.
  3. The sale can't happen until 2029, so it is already built in.
  4. If you listen to the 20 minute interview I posted in the other thread, Jerry went to Ishbia to set this deal up, so he was most responsible for killing the Twins deal. With retrospect, I have no idea if it happens or not without luring Ishbia back to the Sox, but Jerry initiated this deal to sell for one reason, and one reason only. He needed capital to stem operations losses.
  5. Also this was linked in the article, and it is a spectacular listen on the team sale and transition.
  6. Yeah, it was weird. Daniels cost Washington that game, and not a peep. It's almost like it is cool to be on Caleb's case, so guys pile on. Dude did what he needed to do last night.
  7. It does. I will say this clearly, again. Jerry Reinsdorf had to prematurely bring on a new buyer for a capital infusion to pay for operations losses turning into operations debt. YOU DON'T ACCUMULATE DEBT FOR PAPER LOSSES! No is is faking losses by faking debt and pissing away interest payments. This is real.
  8. Well Swift was finally worth a roster slot
  9. First off, I am not sure why this guy is comparing 25 payroll to 24 revenue. 2nd, Forbes does. Note 5 years off losses. I am going to put more trust in them vs bitter fans.
  10. No, it isn't. Payroll is not a teams only expense, far from it. It's not a complete comparison. It would be like comparing your paycheck to your car payment and then calling yourself rich.
  11. As bad as any of these guys have been, any of us would be eleventy seven billion times worse.
  12. I think Jerry is more of the guy who could hire an utterly unqualified guy for the GM job. Hopefully Ishbia lays that tradition to rest.
  13. They wouldn't have been outrighted if they wanted to become free agents, and at this time of year, I can't imagine them not taking a shot in free agency.
  14. This still strikes me as wild. They had pretty much been lost in the woods until he got there after Paterno. Dude has a couple of really bad losses in a row, and they are instantly writing a $50 million check. I would almost bet money the next guy isn't as good.
  15. I lean to #1 more than #2, but it also wouldn't shock me if #2 is true in the longer run.
  16. In this day an age? Getting hurt feelings is a performance art these days.
  17. Honestly? I 100% believe the Sox weren't going to fix him, for whatever reason. I would have much rather gotten a lottery ticket vs Civale, but that's a different post.
