  1. Mike Vasil injured has contributed more to this team than a few players who are active...
  2. Unfortunately this year has been mostly turning gold into crap.
  3. Sure, if you want to pretend someone out there is going to give them long innings and no runs. The pen is fried, and even bad long outings are better than burning through multiple relievers to get the same crappy innings.
  4. Why does he need a rehab start?
  5. The whole "2 strike approach" thing kind of died with bunting.
  6. I am also not willing to always take the Sox talking heads at their word.
  7. Not knowing what happened last year, and seeing something similar happen again last year again brings the question, slump or back?
  8. I am sure he is smart enough to realize if he can't pitch or catch, the quickest way to Sox Park is center field.
  9. Supposedly he shocked with huge home to first times in the futures game, so maybe that changed their minds.
  10. One also plays high level defense at the most important defensive position on the field. The other is Adam Dunn.
  11. The math looks good to get in, but beyond that.... I do believe you are seeing the cracks in the armor though. Would it surprise me if they missed, not really, but someone will need to get hot to beat them, which is the part I am not sure of.
  12. Why not? The time to do it is in the minors.
  13. It's exactly the kind of move you make with spring training in front of you, not behind you
  14. If they manage to crush the union, I bet they take advantage of the depressed market. If things stay largely the same, probably not.
  15. Bad expectations is a crazy statement. If we weren't to expect anything, why did they trade for them in the first place?
  16. Yeah, Doyle and Castillo were definitely odd because of how bad they had been, and then brining them in and hoping to fix them in a pennant race. Honestly, it's what told me they weren't going for it this year more than the bare minimum.
  17. I met Rose about a month ago at an event. The first thing I said to him was how incredible his tribute to Stacey King was. As an extremely amatuer announcer myself, I definitely have my favorites and take things from them, but Stacey's love of the game was so infectous. He genuninely loved the game, the Bulls, and his dudes.
  18. He has a loooooong way to go, but if this dude ends up being something, this could be really, really bad.
  19. There was balance in the force with Hawk. You could tell when he was mad or frustrated. Sometimes he would just come out and say it, and hte other times he would do that quiet slow burn. But I do agree he wasn't going to lie to you in that he wouldn't say something he didn't believe.
  20. In his case it typically wasn't beause they criticized HIM as much as they hurt the White Sox in general. He never really seemed to care about the personal attacks. I will also say the thing I liked least about Hawk was the constant stream of team propaganda that he fed.
