Honestly? The fact that Benny is still on the roster, tells me everything I need to know about what Jerry thinks about this season. It costs him nothing extra, except a minimum wage salary, and lord knows how many of those we have grinded through already on some of the other cheap deals and cuts we have already made this year. If Benny is still on the roster, it is because he still hopes to get out of some cash, and not that this team is legit enough to need the extra bat. Benny is getting his paychecks for the next couple of years regardless, and his being an awful player on this roster daily isn't going to change that.

Yeah, they could have spent the money on whoever without picking the option up. They also could have essentially bought better prospects than Acuna by picking up money in the deal. We know Cincy had various proposals out there over the last two years, including a MUCH better one last year.

The one thing I do like is that he seems to be a good people manager, and not putting someone on blast in the media, which is a nice change for an organization that seemed to like hanging it out there for the whole neighborhood to see. I wonder about the bullpen management, line up construction, positioning, and in game strategies to give away too many outs at times that call for more aggressive play, but this could be very Getz influences in many aspects, so it isn't completely on the manager at times either.

Of course you mean the people who are still mad that someone dares to argue with them? Because damn are they mad. Like so mad they can't even enjoy the team in front of them.
