Are we really upset that the Bears aren't the prohibitive playoff favorite a year after being the worst team in the NFC Central and being DOA as a team? Jesus people, enjoy the moment. This team is at least a year ahead of schedule for the talent on the roster, and that is without even talking about the injuries especially on the defensive side of the ball.

The injuries have been a big problem too. The linebackers on back have been mostly hurt this year.

How about this for a thought. Typically the best path to being an effective major league starter, is to start games as much as possible. Are there exceptions? Sure. Are most starters brought to the majors as starters? Also yes.

No one else can offer him 11 mil in reality. Tampa would punt 5+ signings to save a million bucks to do it.

They will know his demands when they draft him. Also keep in mind the slot difference between pick 1 and 2 is almost a million dollars. If someone demands full slot and overplays their hand and drops from 1 to 2, they cost themselves a lot of money.

And even just the extra money they get in the top slot for the 5% overage adds up to some decent cash cash, let alone what they can save under slot.
