For the record, I don't think the off the field stuff affected the on the field stuff for TA, outside the the brutal murder of his best friend. It was leg injury after leg injury, a couple of them pretty major, that sapped his explosiveness. It's honestly not unusual for guys of his skill set and build either. I loved TA. Dude made himself into an all-star SS after primarily growing up as a PG. The off of the field stuff was sad, but his legs and the perpetual injuries just killed his biggest asset. The Field of Dreams game is one of my all time baseball moments. Still remember exactly where I was.
