They just had a "one good week" which put them back up on a 63 win pace. I am still #team69, but in that general vicinity makes sense to me. It gets better, but there are still a TON of holes here that will keep them away from meaningful baseball.

We have quick existing in Cuba, and basically don't exist in the Far East outside of a single free agent signing in the last generation. Every cheaper line for talent, we are too cheap to invest in.

$150k is the max amount you can offer to a pick in those rounds without having to accrue a penalty for the signing. Honestly it is rather unusual for a HS pick to sign for that amount in general because they have the leverage of going to college and getting that NIL deal instead, and trying again a few years. As an example, in 2025, The Sox offered up a a slightly over $150 bonus to their 11th and 12 round picks and most other picks after that received exactly 150k.
