The major league roster will tell you where we are. As long as only the tip of the iceberg in terms of rebuild talent is in Chicago, it is going to be bad. There are literally 3 of the bigger pieces here. The rest are still fighting their way through the minors. Until we clear out the placeholder talent, it will be bad. But again, that is what a rebuild looks like. It takes time for these guys to get here, learn on the job, and figure out how to win.

Attendance is the most predictable thing in the world when it comes to Sox fans. Like it or not, the Sox are on the more bandwagon end of professional sports. It isn't as bad as a place like Cleveland, but it is pretty bad. They desert in large numbers when the team is bad, and show up out of the word work when they are good. History clearly shows that. Chicago loves a winner, and the Sox are no different.

For real.

The same people who always complain about the same things, will continue to do so no matter what thread is set up.

When you said you weren't living in the past, you were just making stuff up.

Someone is living in the past.

His reaction looks to me like there is an inside joke somewhere. He wasn't upset, mad, or confused. He laughed. My guess from being around a lot of teams is that the players in the clubhouse are giving him grief about it.

They can't tell them outright. But they can sure as heck outline the plan, and embellish it with as many details as they want to makes it sound sadly plausible.

Yes! That means no more 40 years posts!

One thing I will say, just because we don't know their plan, doesn't mean that Michael Kopech and Eloy Jimenez haven't been briefed either. I am sure there have been plenty of detailed conversations with them and/or their agents.

Bingo. The damage was done.

Baez is actually a great comp. Both kids got here hugely talented but extremely raw. It took Javy a number of years to grow through an extreme swing and miss games, along with some serious mental errors in the field. Sound familiar yet? No one is saying that Moncada is guaranteed to be a star, but is showing a guy with the same toolbox and rawness as a path that has been blazed.

And Carlos Rodon.

So Longo would rather have Alen Hansen over Yoan Moncada. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Right in the backdoor.

Anytime you are using a more statistical method to evaluate something that isn't yet a known factor, you aren't going to get good results. Minor league relievers aren't a blob on the radar for a fangraphs type evaluation. This doesn't surprise me at all that FG doesn't value the deal.

Where in the F is this coming from?

I was just going to mention his role in the drama every time something stupid happened.

Uh, oh. Hope it isn't serious.

Welcome to rebuilding. This is exactly what it looks like.

How about just "Free"?

Hahn would still win that deal.

The Sox owe him that amount. SD owes the rest, though technically that money is going to the White Sox and would NOT go with on a straight waiver claim.

I wouldn't assume they haven't already at least started asking.
