  2. M@‏Verified account @MattSpiegel670 25m25 minutes ago Michigan State University's role in the Larry Nassar story is in the same shameful category as Penn State's behavior with Jerry Sandusky. 14 staffers, including the President, knew about him over a range of two decades. Despicable.
  3. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 12:24 AM) I sure do. However, you clearly don't know the difference between "is" and "was" because you will not be able to find anywhere that has Leury "billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed". That's not really true though. There are tweets out there about Garcia making a catch with an over 29 time, as well as his baseball cube page still listing him as a 93 out of 100 on the speed scale, which would put him at around a 75 speed
  4. QUOTE (Jimmy3Putt @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 08:27 PM) Is Moncada not there? While Moncada is supposed to have some pop, I don't think he has ever rated the super high power projections that some of our other guys have. It is good power plus top level speed that is high calling card. Moncada sounds more like a 30/30 guy versus a 40 homer guy to me.
  5. For those who are interested, I put up links to Robert, Sheets, and Burger BP sessions during the hitters camp on their AAP pages in the FutureSox section of Soxtalk.

  8. Gavin Sheets taking BP. https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/953713827199135745
  9. James Fegan‏ @JRFegan 6h6 hours ago Carlos Rodon was at the White Sox spring training complex today. Still not expected to know more about his recovery timeline until next month
  10. I get the feeling our future DH is already on this roster. I am guessing Jose Abreu is the next Paul Konerko and is here for a decade plus. He will eventually slide off of 1B when one of our hitters needs the spot in the field.
  11. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 04:24 PM) "Is" and "was" don't mean the same thing. Everything you posted has reports from around 2013. You said "Leury is billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed". Once again here is data from the 2017 season that shows that you're wrong. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboard You do realize the difference between scouting and stats right?
  12. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 02:18 PM) Where? Statcast data shows otherwise https://www.minorleagueball.com/2013/8/20/4...icago-white-sox https://theloopsports.com/2017/06/06/white-...ke-and-mirrors/ http://www.gammonsdaily.com/potential-in-leury-garcia/ https://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...09/leury-garcia
  13. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 01:04 PM) Engel has elite speed. Leury does not. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboard Engel plays elite defense. Leury does not. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/catch_probability_leaderboard Leury is billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 12:50 PM) I think Baseball America mentioned he'll be in our top 30. Other LatAm guys I think have a chance to make the jump next year are Anthony Coronado, Ramon Beltre, Felix Mercedes, Franklin Reyes, & Carlos Perez. I actually think Dedelow is a pretty intriguing prospect and will start cracking top 30 lists next year. Kade McClure & Lincoln Henzman have great shots. Corey Zangari is another guy that we've all probably forgot about that actually has some serious upside. I'd love to see a guy like Perez or one of the other catchers down there break out./
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 12:35 PM) Leury has outstanding speed. played as well, if not better, than Engel defensively, hits from both sides of the plate and showed some pop. Everyone else is in line behind him and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Engel is eventually released. I didn't see that at all defensively, and while limited, the defensive numbers don't seem to bear that out either.
  16. White Sox Talk‏Verified account @NBCSWhiteSox 24m24 minutes ago #MeetTheProspects: Luis Basabe was acquired by the #WhiteSox in the Chris Sale deal and spent his 2017 season with @WSDashBaseball. More on the 21-year-old OF prospect at http://bit.ly/2Ba1ajd
  17. James Fegan‏ @JRFegan 4m4 minutes ago James Fegan Retweeted Wendell ™ ? Yes! Delmonico did say he continues to take reps at 3B and 1B in addition to the outfield
  18. James Fegan‏ @JRFegan Ryan Cordell has been back to full activity since Dec. 1. Suffered a minor fracture to his T1 vertebrae but says every doctor he spoke to projected no issues going forward. He’s happy to get an early start to the season after a long layoff
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:57 AM) Josh Nelson 12:10 Saw your tweet from the White Sox hitters camp. Who impresses you the most from that group? Eric A Longenhagen 12:11 It was Robert and it wasn't close. Hit balls out to all fields during BP, more raw pop than anyone else taking BP on that field including Burger and Sheets From Longenhagen's and McDaniel's chat today.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:19 AM) I agree, it looked like Leury's journey was over and then he went to AAA for 2 more years and produced, then it turned out to be somewhat legit going back to MLB. I don't see why Engel can't do the same. His defense is going to hold a ton of value to a young pitching staff that has a ton of other questions marks on defense.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:04 AM) The latest Garfein podcast with Cooper is a good listen. https://art19.com/shows/white-sox-podcast/e...fc-9219b3999ec6 Probably the most interesting thing in here was that Nate Jones seems to be Coopers favorite for closer, and that he is supposed to be available for spring training.
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:34 AM) Nightengale reported that Luzardo and Drew Ward was the return for Robertson before it fell through. And if the Nationals nixed it, it wasn't actually available.
  23. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:02 AM) In order: 1. MacKenzie Gore, Padres 2. A.J. Puk, Athletics 3. Justus Sheffield, Yankees 4. Luiz Gohara, Braves 5. Brendan McKay, Rays 6. Adrian Morejon, Padres 7. Kolby Allard, Braves 8. Jesus Luzardo, Athletics 9. Stephen Gonsalves, Twins 10. Max Fried, Braves It hurts my insides that I BELIEVE we could have gotten Luzardo + for Robertson... I will still be sad about this.. Luzardo>Rutherford. lol The only person I recall Luzardo being on the table for was Sale.
