  1. White Sox are still "expressing interest" http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox...ve-trade-rumors
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 01:35 PM) What is going to happen with the Bulls? Do they go right away, or does the Swirsk finish out the season on WLS? They would only have until the drop dead date, which would be a mess.
  3. It also misses the main issue here, that consent isn't perpetual.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 01:21 PM) Less than 2 months if you want to hear Spring Training games. Good point.
  5. Oh crap, didn't realize they had less than 4 months to find a new station. Yikes.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 12:07 PM) Nope. This band of ballers is destined for NBA hell. Unless they get a top pick, I agree with you.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 11:48 AM) Guys, guys guys. Was driving to get a haircut and listened to Rush. Hmmm, he said the economy is thriving under Trump. Said stock market is doing amazing. Said everything Trump is doing is working. Says Democrats are causing a ruckus over the shutdown to deflect attention from Trump successful economy. Before you deem me some Rush fanatic, folks, I listened for a grand total of 3 minutes before commercials hit and that was it. Oh no baby, what is you doing?
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 10:25 AM) Remind who votes the starters in the all star game? Is it coaches, media, execs? This was from the player vote.
  9. So someone voted for Cam Payne as a starter for the all star game. Two people voted for Bobby Portis.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 09:03 AM) This is why education in America is falling apart. No respect, kids are addicted to mobile phones or iPads and can focus for 10-15 minutes tops and are also expected to double as counselors because parents no longer parent...but you have succeeded in illuminating why China is winning the real trade war. Parents and society respect teachers and education, period. All parents here are willing to spend $15-30,000 per year for high school and SAT training centers and an infinite amount on undergrad and grad school. Look at the majority of the winning schools for the Mathematics Modeling Contest. Of course, you’ve now made your flippant comment, but haven’t admitted you would go ape poop crazy if the Dems wrote a bill to benefit either poor minorities or new Muslim immigrants in America. What’s wrong? No GOP talking points issued by Drudge, Fox and Friends or The Heritage Foundation yet today? And most schools wouldn’t hire you because of your long track record of comments here, so you might have to join the Google discrimination lawsuit instead. Funny to see both of these in the same post.
  11. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 07:44 PM) Coop will fix em. No, wait!! Considering he went from a minor league deal to an almost $5 million deal because of Cooper, I'd say he owes Donnie a dinner or something.
  12. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 07:58 PM) Personally, I think Tilson is a DFA candidate for when the Sox need a roster spot. I bet you they could easily get him through waivers. With missing the entire season last year, they guy needs to be in the minors trying to get back into the rhythm of playing every day. But having said that, the Sox absolutely should allow him to complete in the spring. If he manages to out hit Engel and Garcia then he deserves first shot. DFA? Nah, they were ready to hand the guy the starting job a year ago. It will take some time, and there are more guys ahead of him to go first.
  13. If they are losing money on the radio deal, that isn't a very good sign for the TV deal that comes up next year.
  14. Adam Caplan‏Verified account @caplannfl 14m14 minutes ago As @BradBiggs said, Dave Ragone likely to remain as #Bears QBs coach. Some candidates were told they're not getting the job.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 03:42 PM) Most of the 2017 mid-season lists had him as a top 40 to 50 prospect. Hard to imagine them completely dropping him off after one bad half unless they want to acknowledge they completely whiffed with their original evaluations. Stats don't always tell the full story. If you are looking at a guy with a high ceiling, that doesn't go away just because they struggle for a season. We just saw that with Micker.
  16. Vincent Goodwill‏Verified account @vgoodwill 11m11 minutes ago After a second round of tests, Kris Dunn has been diagnosed with a concussion, according to sources. As of now he won't be traveling with the team and will be evaluated at a later date
  17. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 02:55 PM) That is exactly how you measure how fast a player can run... Not really, because it ignores everything but one piece of the puzzle, but whatever.
  18. Scott Merkin‏Verified account @scottmerkin 3h3 hours ago Collins ranked MLB's No. 9 catching prospect http://atmlb.com/2rmEuwa via @MLB
  19. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 02:29 PM) Look at how baseball cube comes up with their speed rating. "Speed: Number of stolen bases per trips to first base. Does not consider whether there are other runners on base blocking his path". That is legitimately the worst way to measure speed I've ever seen. Versus taking one time set and making it gospel?
  20. Chicago White Sox‏Verified account @whitesox 1h1 hour ago Jacob May has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Class AAA Charlotte.
  21. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 12:08 PM) Because his hitting is substandard, even for a 4th/5th outfielder. He's good enough defensively to offer 1 more year to find out of he can develop the bat to at least 4th OF level (and he'd be a good one, if he can). He's shown flashes with that good AFL Anyway, I like the projected Sox lineup....it's a good rebuild lineup (better in many ways than the "go for it" teams). Add Machado the following year and it's pretty good, if backed by pitching (which has a loooong way to go). REally looking forward to a full year of Delmonico...promising start last year and he takes pitches, which is refreshing. I think you are being way to premature here. Engel was up very early for what he has accomplished. He wouldn't have even been up if it wasn't for injuries, Eaton's trade, and May bombing. Engel has also showing a propensity for getting it after an amount of time, much like Leury. He might not hit this year either at the major league level, but it is way too early to relegate him to a 5th OF title based on the fact he has hit in the minors plenty enough if he were to hit at the same level in the majors.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:47 AM) I do not get the Tilson love on this board. He needs to prove himself again after missing like a season and a half before I even consider handing him a starting job. The OF to begin 2018 should be Delmonico in LF, Leury in CF, & Avi in RF. Tilson should have to compete against Engel & Cordell for a reserve role. If he wins that and does well as a reserve, we can djnd ways to get him more at-bats. I just don't see much upside with Tilson. For me the leaders coming into spring are Engel and Garcia, with Tilson and Cordell running in the next tier. Doesn't mean Tilson can't win, but he is definitely starting out from behind IMO.

  24. Buster Olney‏Verified account @Buster_ESPN 5h5 hours ago Some experienced agents strongly believe this: slow-moving market is not because of collusion; rather, the issue of tanking--the growing number of teams choosing to not participate in competition for players and wins--was not addressed. $ pocketed by teams, and not spent.
  25. Jon Heyman‏Verified account @JonHeyman 14h14 hours ago scott boras generally doesn't discuss offers or non offers, but he did say the report of a $100M five-year offer by boston for jd martinez is "not accurate." (me: that does seem off/improbable as an offer since cespedes got $27.5M per year)
