  1. A new season of SHERLOCK kicks off on PBS tonight!!!
  2. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 31, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) From Nick Carfardo of the Boston Globe: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...R0lM/story.html So the Sox aren't getting even a decent prospect or two offered for Frazier. That isn't surprising to me at all./
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 31, 2016 -> 12:33 PM) I don't think there was any chance at all both Benintendi and Moncada would have been in play no matter how well the Sox negotiated. I think we did about as well as we could have with Sale. Especially because the talk was that the teams were so far apart that there were no talks at the end of the trade deadline. I think talks would have gone somewhere if those two had both been offered, or at the very least that would have been the starting point this off season.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) Which trade would you accept for Q? Do the other teams accept these deals? Q to the Yankees for Frazier, Rutherford, Kaplielian, and Sands Q to the Braves for Albies, Maitian, Soroka, and Toussaint Q to the Astros for Martes, Tucker, Fisher, and Stubbs Q to the Pirates for Glasnow, Bell, Diaz, and Escobar Yankees or Braves.
  5. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) Well they all seem to be fellating Russia now, which is weird if you ask me. Trump is already proving he's the great uniter, I mean he is going to make Russia super friendly toward the US again. See that's the fun part. If it were a Republican in office, we'd hear non-stop about the two failed wars in Libya and Syria, along with reigniting the cold war with Russia.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) Is it wrong that, despite knowing Sale is better, that Buehrle is my favorite pitcher of all time? (Only 25 years old so didn't see McDowell or others mentioned) Basically started getting into baseball around 99/2000 so I basically started from the beginning with Buehrle's career (and Paulie's for that matter). Favorite players aren't based on stats.
  7. 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 36m36 minutes ago Report: Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg is on the hot seat. http://cbsloc.al/2imrm1W
  8. Tracey Myers ‏@TramyersCSN 13m13 minutes ago Marian Hossa will join the #Blackhawks in St. Louis. Q hopeful he'll play in the #WinterClassic.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) I just want to point out that raBBit was breaking things on this site, as a college sophomore home on winter break. Isn't Cotillo super young as well?
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) If you truly think you would rather have Quintana than Sale, be my guest. however, I think you may one of the few. There is a reason boston wanted Sale not Quintana even though Quintana had a more favorable contract. Even if all numbers were equal, the potential for one pitcher to be dominant on any given night is going to demand a premium over a guy who is consistently really good. The mere fact that Chris Sale is always a threat to go out and throw a no hitter with 18K's is worth something more than Q.
  11. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) I agree with the Atlanta bit here. When I talked to Chris Cotillo, he mentioned that Atlanta was firmly in the Sale sweepstakes, but believed they are a better fit for Q. Ozzie Albies/Kevin Maitan headlined package with an upside arm or two intrigue anyone? That is a core that would have my interest.
  12. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) First time I've seen names from the Yanks in talks for Q. https://elitesportsny.com/2016/12/30/despit...must-stick-plan That is an intriguing package. Severino could make or break that package.
  13. QUOTE (RockfordJim @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) Just saw this. Sorry if its already been discussed. http://sportsmockery.com/2016/12/mlb-insid...cago-white-sox/ DeLeon is supposed to be the headliner for a Twins/Dozier deal, so that sounds a bit fishy.
  14. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) Listening to Dowell Loggains talk about how it was hard for him to see how good Howard is as a back(pretty much half a season to consider him as good). Saying it took a while because he basically didnt see the same talent from practice as what shown in game situations. Thats why it took soo long for him to run the damn ball this year and even still doesnt get enough enough carries. Loggains is terrible. Reading between the lines, its sounds like a nice way of saying Howard is lazy in practivce.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) The Barstool whitesoxdave HOF ballot on Twitter is cracking me up I can't believe how many people are angry over it.
  16. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 09:50 AM) The golden rule to consider before you propose a trade involving your team - would you accept this if you were the GM of the other team? GMs would probably accept roughly 0.34% of proposed online trades. Realistically with as hard as it is to consummate a trade in MLB, that percentage probably represents how many trades are accepted between GM's.
  17. QUOTE (juddling @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 06:58 AM) Well.......Vikings definitely took an interesting turn last night......... I had been watching the Real Vikings series right after Vikings, and they totally spoiled it. I was so pissed. Great episode though.

  19. This would be the liberal nightmare scenario for the whole telling people that they can't deny people services for religious, moral, or ethical reasons.
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) https://mobile.twitter.com/ckamka/status/814676487446073344 I find that pretty amazing. When anyone wonders if those extensions were worth it...
  21. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) The proverbial pitching death star still has a long way to go and still needs offense to back it up. Our offense is more like a bunch of stormtroopers trying to defend the death star.
  22. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) Isn't a .700 OPS C considered good and a borderline starter? Because that doesn't seem like an impossible line for him, maybe something like .270/.340/.360, which doesn't seem implausible. Combine that with good D and framing, and I think he's at least worth a look. Worst case, he gets you closer to the #1 overall pick in 2018. His career MiLB number is .689 so that isn't a crazy number. In 2016 the AL's average C put up an OPS of .681, the NL .722 for a league average of .701. In 2015 the AL average was .676, the NL .686 for an MLB average of .681. In other words if Narvaez can put up a .650 to .675 OPS, he would be slightly under league average, or probably in line with a typical back up catcher around MLB.
