Todd Frazier Trade Thread: NYM?
For those that don't know the area, Kentucky is quite literally the first exit south of the ballpark, and it is WAY cheaper to live in than Ohio.

Rowand will manage AZL fall team
QUOTE (ecupittfan @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) Hawk was talking last night its about a manager bringing the most out of their players. Robin is not very fiery and he is not an old baseball man like a Joe Maddon or a Terry Collins. Someone like Rowand is very fiery, we were better under Ozzie and he had that type of persionality. Baseball is not a hard game to necessarily understand. Could be a better match then Ventura. Hawk is the guy who fired Tony LaRussa. Not sure what his advice on managers is worth.

AL Cy Young Wide Open
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 08:54 AM) I've said this year Quintana will never win a Cy--and he may not. But I was wrong for saying it. He's definitely in the mix. ERA under 3 now. AL leader in Pitcher WAR. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/...ue_pitching::18 Sale, Quintana, Hamels, Tillman, a few others. 11-12 starts left for these guys. I know who I'm rooting for. He can win it../ If he goes to Boston.

7/29 Games
QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 12:41 AM) Luis Curbelo has 16 errors this season. Two tonight got him there. Yikes. Hopefully that means he has great range, but bad mechanics.

James Shields Redux
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) False. If a player opts out of a contract, he can be offered a QO (see Alex Gordon). However, Shields will not opt out. And if he did, Sox would be dumb not to offer the QO of around 1/16 mill when the guy rejected 2/44 million lol The Sox didn't have him for a full season, so they cannot offer the QO.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) Kaplan brought up something on the radio this afternoon I laughed at, but I'm still thinking about it 2 hours later, which I'm not sure what that means.. Tom Ricketts calls up Reinsdorf and says "Listen, a World Series is vital to us this year, and we think Sale is the final piece. We just signed Theo to an 8 year deal, but we'll trade you the contract of Theo and his staff for Chris Sale." I honestly didn't know what to think. It means he ran out of things to talk about, so he just started making s*** up.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) Perhaps a dumb question, but I'll ask even though I'm sure it's never come up. Would Chris Sale for Mike Trout be a fair trade? Would this help both teams, and metrically, should a team even trade an every day player for a pitcher? That would be an interesting debate. The big anti with Trout is he is getting into a really big contract very soon.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Slavery is one of those topics like the Holocaust where we have to be able to objectively talk about it because it's such a HUGE part of history that directly affects the present. Then again I'm kind of a history nerd and so are you. Totally correct. But again, the Holocaust has become such a politically charged whorefest that there is no talking about it.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) I am late to this argument but I feel like basically everyone on the right completely and maybe deliberately missed the point of Michelle Obama bringing up slavery. That wasn't a pessimistic statement at all, it was the polar opposite. She said "this house was built by slaves and now I, a descendant of African slaves, live in this house with my two black daughters, look at how far America has come in two centuries." That's a statement that has real, tangible emotional impact on black viewers, and it was bewildering to see people questioning or criticizing it afterwards (this should be common knowledge!). Stuff like this is why we never get anywhere on some of the more controversial stuff in the country these days. No one wants to have an honest and intellectual conversation about race. The topic of slavery comes up, and people lose their minds. I don't know why it is such a bad thing to say something like we have come a long way, but we still have work to do, without it either being racist, apologist, or argumentative.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Urias is great, but how is trading a great pitcher today for a (potentially) great pitcher a year or two from now really improving this team and its many holes? Best case scenario if Urias is great is that you change from a cheaply-signed ace to a super-cheap arb-eligible ace. That doesn't really move the needle for this team. That isn't all you would get. You'd get 4-5 other guys, at least one or two of which would be expected to be long term starters.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 01:53 PM) Well America is not safe relative to other western countries or our neighbor to the north, it is safe comparable to America in 1990 or America in 1970. There is so much of an interest and political gain in fear mongering that most people don't believe this anymore.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) Mitt Romney ran a Tea Party campaign when it turned out he probably could have ran as the centre-right governor he was and done a lot better. But he still probably would have lost. As sad as it is, I would have voted for Mitt in a heartbeat over the entire rest of the GOP field this time around. John McCain too for that matter.

Who gets dealt at the deadline?
Let's see what everyone has to offer. Who, if anyone, will the White Sox trade at the deadline. You can vote for multiple names if you like.
