  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) Wait, SS2k5 I'm agreeing with you...? I'm saying that's why we SEEM more divided. This s*** went on all the time. Fair enough.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) And he tried for six years to work with an infantile legislative branch. He got Osama. He got everyone health care. Helped push the rights of LGTBQ individuals along. Greg, only reason people probably seem more divided than in the good ole' days is because we have the internet. But no, let's blame him for racism that he was the subject of for eight years. I laugh every time I see stuff like this. First off, the R's were just as ridiculous with Bill Clinton, and probably worse. Obama himself hasn't been hauled in front of any group to testify about anything. He hasn't been indicted by Congress. He hasn't suffered investigation after investigation. Second, it also ignores that the same amount of irrational hatred went on with W. He got charactured as a monkey on a regular basis. He was called Hitler on a regular basis. There were regular movements to have him indicted for various things, including war crimes. There were mainstream TV show dedicated to mocking W. Are there racists that go after Obama? Sure. Is the main reason he gets targeted racism? No, absolutely not. It is politics, pure and simple. If it were racism, you should be able to look at The Bill Clinton Presidency and see is getting treated differently because he isn't black.
  7. QUOTE (WBWSF @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) Don't be too sure that the Cubs won't lose some of their fanbase when they have their network. I'm under the impression that all of their games will be on their network. They won't have any of their games on free TV. If this actually happens the White Sox will be the only team in Chicago on free TV. No one in Chicago is on "free" TV fully. The Cubs are on regular TV a lot, but they are on CSN a lot.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Which only exist by use of Player Development Contracts, signed with MLB clubs. The MLB clubs could, if they chose, be quite specific in how things need to be run, and could pay for said cost increases. In fact, some teams have already started dumping in 7 figure amounts to improve nutrition alone with their minor leaguers. Nutrition is much easier than facilities, especially when you are talking about 5 to 7 facilities per organization, and maybe teams in places like the DR as well.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) All I need is my birthday suit. And there goes my lunch.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen saying Robin likes to give players a day off following an off day http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/frazier...tand-vs-astros/ Ozzie was good at that too.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:10 PM) Because the last man on the bench still has a purpose. Sands is...sands. And the last man on most benches isn't very good. If they were good, they wouldn't be the last man on the bench.
  12. I took it, as I always do.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ May 17, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) I liked James answer on improving minors. One part of that was the great post by NS72, but the idea of improving the facilities so that some of these high priced assets have a great place to develop is key. It's crazy that the minors are offering worse facilities than most college programs. They are almost all independently owned and operated.
  14. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ May 17, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) EHT-zeeyo Audi-toray You had better pronounce it a little slower for Shipps
  15. Chicago is freaking awesome. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-...0517-story.html Owner of old main post office was dead when $130M sale closed
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 17, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) If any team went 7-6 every 13 games, they would finish 87-75. Decent shot at a WC. It goes to show the overreaction of a 2-4 roadtrip. There isn't a team in baseball that won't have a 2-4 stretch this season. throw that on top of starting the season 10 over, and we are looking at a win total in the low to mid 90's which should be plenty to make it in the AL.
  17. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Source: LHP Neal Cotts has exercised May 15 opt-out with #Angels. Team must decide whether to add him to 25-man roster or let him go.

  20. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ May 17, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Cubs sign Joe Nathan http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-cubs/cub...oser-joe-nathan He is going right to the 60 day DL, so he can't be used until almost the trade deadline.

  22. Jason Benetti ‏@jasonbenetti 2h2 hours ago 10 games in 9 days at U.S. Cellular Field starting tonight for @whitesox, who own the only AL division lead (w/ties in the West and East).
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 17, 2016 -> 08:10 AM) Here's something new. I hadn't seen anything like this done before, so it's a bit of an experiment. We invited a writer from each of three other White Sox blogs, to join us (Future Sox) in answering a few questions about the minor leagues and prospects around the White Sox. Just to get some different perspectives. Here is the roundtable discussion. It was really fun to see the different styles and approaches from these other writers. I picked those three because they are, to me, the other three high quality blogs in our space (along with FS). Do people here already read those blogs regularly? Who do you like to read? Great work by everyone involved here.
  24. Patrick Nolan ‏@SSS_pnoles 3h3 hours ago Tim Anderson: .459/.487/.730 since May 10th with just a 10.3% strikeout rate.
  25. QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) Just ban him and be over it.
