  1. Stone just said on the broadcast that "there isn't much that Yoan can do in the next two weeks to prove he belongs on this roster"
  2. I will offer this as a follow up exhibit. This is the MLB WAR rankings for all 1B with over 400 PAs. Offensively AV is #29. Defensively he is #30
  3. If Vaughn was a free agent would you pay $5 to $6 million for him?
  4. Moncada is not being traded. He has a $5 million buyout or a $25 million option for 2025. He's getting the $5 million to go away. He will be a free agent in like 6 weeks.
  5. Imagine being a media gatekeeper for Jerry, and then him still leaving you out of the biggest story surrounding the White Sox.
  6. Wait until next year when they are historically awful AND no one knows where to watch them.
  7. You seem surprised. I haven't watched this little baseball since the years post strike in the mid 90s.
  8. Even after the trades this continues to be an absurd construction. The payroll commitments for 25 are now a shade over $35 million. This franchise is sitting at around a $55 million payroll with Robert and Benny on the books, and dumping dead weight like Nicky and Vaughn. Even including them we are talking like $65 million. If they don't want him, cut him like any real MLB franchise would. They can easily set $25 million on fire just like they did last year and save Jerry plenty of his kids future inheritance, cutting payroll to under $100 million like a 3rd world MLB franchise.
  9. Sox have $35.3 million committed to 25
  10. Explain to me a realistic path to the White Sox being at least 50 games better before the end of 2026 when we lose Crochet for nothing.
  11. If Jerry is looking to cut, it's a quick way to save a few bucks.
  12. Vaughn will be in his 2nd arb year. He was at $3.25 million this year, which probably puts him in the $5-6 million range in arb next year. I could totally see a non-tender.
  13. I know why he can't see it...
  14. Except they got to the playoffs twice with the guys they got for Sale, and zero times with him.
  15. For most people it is to work just hard enough to not get fired.
  16. I have no vision of how the Sox are going to be able to amass enough talent all at the same time to be able to compete anytime in the next 4-5 years. The offensive talent is downright offensive. Pitching maybe, but if they can't trade them for hitters, can't draft hitters, can't sign hitters, and can't develop hitters, what are we doing? Even if by some miracle, Chris Getz really is the boy genius of hiring and actually fixes the drafting and development problems, how many more years before those things actually pay off if those hires are still to be made? A new international director isn't going to have a single 16 year old of their own signed until at least 2026, probably longer as most your talent is already accounted for going out a couple of seasons. Pro scouts don't exist for potential Robert and Crochet trades. We are already depending on non-scouts for advice and that is going swimmingly well. We can only pick higher than 10th once in the next three years if we have huge loss seasons as expected. Our top hitting prospects were pretty awful this year as a whole, and Getz refuses to play the one ok success story. Free agency? Hahahahaha! We well might be entering not just a rebuild, but a cycle of failed rebuilds.
  17. Basketball can be more extreme because only 5 players are on the floor at the same time.
  18. Technically they could do an injury settlement to open up a roster spot.
