There is a reason this is one of the worst franchises in baseball, and it starts at the top. Watching people rush in to make excuses for it just continues to amaze me.

Got my time slot today, and anything reasonable was long gone. The cheapest tickets you could get to any day of track was $750. They had opening rounds of baseball for $200 each. Gymnastics, beach volleyball, and mens basketball were sold out already. Opening ceremonies were gone, but you could get to Closing for $5k each.

And when people doubt Getz, or his ability to turn around the Sox, a large piece of it is because of the Jerry factor. We saw first hand JR sabotage Hahn, Williams, and every GM and AGM before them. I sure don't have faith that he isn't going to knecap Chris too.

Supposedly they had that old Dodgers trade fall apart years ago based on exactly this the Kusinski kid.

This was always going to be a dicey signing. There is a reason that the Sox got him for basically 2/40. If he was a slam dunk, he would have been a $200 million player. We need to see if he can adjust to MLB pitching. It doesn't take long for them to find a weakness and exploit it. Now Mune has to adjust back.

Instead he gets years of the fans talking about it, instead of just tearing the bandaid off and being done with it. It's a sunk cost. Deal with it.

They are eating the contract, in the same amount, and in the same increments, whether he is here or not. They are holding on to him in some fantasy world that someone eventually picks up some of his contract to save them a few bucks. You just saw his equivalent in Sosa (average hitter with no defensive position) with a minimum wage type salary get sold for absolutely nothing. It's a fantasy that will never happen. I would love to pull a winning powerball ticket, but I know the odds are 300m:1. Jerry needs to realize that the same thing is happening with Benny. He's the Springfield Tire Fire.
