  1. I think the problem with Schiff is that if you asked ChatGPT to create a White Sox PBP guy, John is what it would spit out. It's predictable, flawed, and overemphasizes things it shouldn't.
  2. And as soon as they get what they want on the next thing, they will be OK with it. This is Chicago politics at its finest.
  3. There is no way both party's pick up the option.
  4. Both can be true. Waiting for the next Rojas and Perez signings.
  5. It looks like the league adjusted to the Sox looking fastball. Now we need to see them adjust back.
  6. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/288134/2018/03/26/white-sox-qa-kenny-williams-on-locking-himself-in-his-room-his-reputation-and-the-rebuild/
  7. They didn't though. Kenny scouted the guy through tape.
  8. It is nice to see us finally doing the s%*# we should have done 20 years ago.
  9. Romy is another great example of a guy who just needed a bit of time to get it at the major league level and settle into a role that fit his skills best of all. It's exactly why you do everything you can to play these types of guys so as to do real self-evaluations on them, so as to capture as best you can the ones who will give you positive impacts on the roster in the future. Wins and losses are secondary to internal evaluations these days. The hope is that one of these days soon the team will need to value wins more than evaluations and we won't have the ability to let guys fail at times like we do now. It's all of the more reason to do it now. And go figure, the team improved a ton when we quit running out sub replacement old man utility players, and started actually going with the youth movement. Judging by how some have turned out, maybe the cupboard wasn't as bare as we were led to believe, and it was opportunity and development that needed improving.
  10. Look, if the White Sox leave Chicago, expansion teams will be fist fighting to take their place ala the Cleveland Browns.
  11. I am not sure how they Bears giving up 52 is on the QB, but sure
  12. Big picture, the Bears are in a horrible division to make the playoffs out of, and these first two weeks have shown why. GB is a Super Bowl threat while Minny and Detroit are probably playoff teams. The Bears feel "better", but there was always a gap between them and the other 3.
  13. Not gonna lie, I spent a lot of timing downplaying his season as a result of being pushed harder than he has ever been pushed before, and it isn't hard to imagine the knee problems being a result of that. It's tough to adjust from being a glorified long reliever to pushed out as a real starter if you have never done it before. I am not surprised this year was a struggle. I will look a little harder at the panic button if this carries into 26, but I am currently less worried about Dutch than I am Smith.
  14. So you ignored the full season numbers where he is 2nd in MLB, narrowed it down to a sample size that fit the narrative and declared victory, even tagging me in a separate post to do so. Yeah, sure. Calm down buddy. My analysis is full season > September. The kid made a massive leap from being buried in the minors and on the roster by over the hill utility guys, to one of the Sox leading power hitters. Dude turned himself into the conversation as a playable starter somewhere despite his actual biggest flaw, his glove.
  15. That's some high school level cl9ck management.
  16. You literally started name calling over an obvious comment. Stats exist because personal bias doesn't always work.
