  1. How about first we get an Arod and Jeter, and then we worry about where to play them?
  2. Nice Copy/Paste. I wish we had the same sorts of hands off of my body approach to women's health care, but then the same people go back to pretending to be "pro-life".
  3. It's a few bucks to advance the franchise. It is an absolute failure to do otherwise.
  4. Hence there not being room for a small project to get done here.
  5. Which, again, is the entire point. Jerry is absolutely willing to hurt the team to save a few bucks. That hasn't changed with Chris Getz, Rick Hahn, Kenny Williams or any other hire.
  6. Maybe he should stick to podcasting and announcing. Or is that not a thing anymore?
  7. Again, sell the team. And if Getz doesn't have freedom to spend 800k, that tells me everything I know about how much "better" things are with the change, because the top is still the same block it is always been.
  8. The good news is the Bears still haven't used any of those redoing deals within their cap space to this point. They still have more bullets in the chamber if they want.
  9. It also means that NFL revenues have gone up accordingly, so players getting theirs is absolutely to be expected.
  10. Look at his numbers and compare them to the rest of the league's free agents. Benny is a minor league contract with an invite to spring training for the chance to get a couple of million dollars if he can make the team as a free agent. He has zero value.
  11. Which is also offset by losing someone else to a 26 and 40 man roster spot, as well as the development time lost, and opportunity cost of who could have been playing LF. And if 800k for an extra player makes that decision for you, sell the team and get out of the business.
  12. Carlson 100% depends on his bat, which has miles to go. Penciling this dude into a starting position, and trying to move players around before he has ever taken a MiLB AB, it nuts. Let him simmer first and start to force his way into the picture.
  13. They are paying him whether he is here or not. It's a sunk cost. The contract is guaranteed.
  14. Sunk Cost Fallacy:
  15. Maybe he's just so excited about Kannapolis he got mixed up, but either way it's not a big deal because it is so great!
  16. Again, obviously none of this is a surprise or even a deal breaker. Why it is being drama queened is beyond me. I am sure with its industrial and manufacturing history, I am sure the Southside is loaded with brown and superfund sites where work like this is way more common than you would ever want it to be. Yet, here we are building a modern sports facility on the site, just like I said could be done.
  17. This is why mediocre to bad walk numbers are a big red flag
  18. Where are you getting 80/90%? Everything I have seen is under 50%.
  19. Hopefully Brooks and Jerry are taking notes.
  20. Nice. Hopefully mid is more 3rd than 5th, but the cap space is nice, the pick is a bonus.
  21. The Sox have a couple of really important pieces of business this season. #1 is getting Dutch and Hagen back on track as front end starters. #2 is finding MULTIPLE front line players in this draft. Not only getting a future superstar at the top of the draft, but using the extra money from the top of the draft to get multiple first round pick level players into this system, plus something else valuable at the end of the draft with the overage. This is such a pivotal year for the rebuild.
  22. I will leave on an NCAA basketball game with two teams I have zero interest in, just because he is calling it.
  23. I will be honest, it might have gotten him in the door at the beginning, but it is no where near why he is one of the best in the business. I can't think of another person in sportscasting who has the versatility that he does. He sits down in three different sports and sounds like he does any particular one of them all of the time. He's sits down with different partners and sounds like he has been on the air with whoever it is, forever. He has a light touch, and is perfectly willing to get his partner engaged as much as possible. Dude is one of the best in the business.
