  1. As bad as Sheet is in the OF, he's never killed someone else out there...
  2. He already had a season to "prove" himself and he was still essentially unwanted this offseason. Not sure what changes, but if we are going to have him, hopefully we get something for him this time, but I wouldn't count on it.
  3. Taylor had TJS in Feb of 23, so he is just now starting to really pitch. The the first part of this at least is probably a wash for him, but good to see him out ramping up.
  4. Nothing like starting your new job with national attention for being one of the worst teams ever in baseball history.
  5. The evaluation is the easy part. It's the getting players that don't fucking suck which will take a while./
  6. At least someone finally said it out loud, even if many didn't believe it before.
  7. https://theathletic.com/5427977/2024/04/19/white-sox-losses-2024-1962-mets/?campaign=5888993&source=dailyemail&userId=6062851
  8. Assuming they don't have the Clevinger baggage, sure.
  9. Yeah, if he is anywhere near a mid rotation type of starter, teams will pay up for him. All you have to do is look at what pitching was sold for at the last deadline.
  10. I always hear complaining about players being generic and speaking in cliches until they actually speak their minds.
  11. If Getz can convince ownership to bring in one less crappy bench player/ reliever per year and spend that money on player development, scouting, drafting, and the minors in general, Getz is already a better GM than Hahn. The problem is Getz seems to be perfectly willing to waste money on pointless players as he keeps turning over an awful roster, so I don't have a lot of hope. A perfect example is wasting a one year deal on Shaw. That $1.5 million could have fed minor leaguers, hired scouts, and/or more modern development programming.
  12. Yet they launched Sportsvision when the Sox were about as good as could be.
  13. He has a nice grip and slides it right off.
  14. Honestly I really want to see him pitching Charlotte as a prep for a bandbox in Chicago. If he succeeds there, it is a really good sign. Birmingham is a pitchers park. I want to see hitters who can hit in Birmingham and pitch in Charlotte.
  15. He does have a thing against stealing.
  16. I love no matter what happens in Chicago, Sportsvision is brought up at a negative, even though in 2024 is the exact business model that all teams use.
  17. When you look at the roster and when you squint you can see them competing in a year or two.
  18. Here's the thing, even oft injured superstars bring heavy prices when traded. Even a Gio Stanton who plays defense no where near Robert, and had every bit the injury history brought back an all star and two big prospects, even with his massive long term contract in tow.
  19. Chris Getz's all defensive plan is PAYING OFF!
  20. If Fedde proves out to be a 4.00 ERA 1.30 WHIP guy in Chicago who pulls down 6ish innings a start, a LOT of teams will be lining up for him.
