  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) No. You never have enough pitching. Plus we usually end up trading our prospcts away for some guy that KW has "had his eye on for years." I would like to see that stop and us promote from within Until our minor leaguers start consistantly panning out... No thanks.
  2. Like somebody who was around when the words were written?
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) And one other point...a large plot involving months of training within the U.S., millions of dollars, overseas communications, getting 20 people into the country with Visas, years of overseas planning, etc., compared with a guy smuggling a small, 100 gram package onto a plane in his underwear...the difference in complexity between these 2 should have produced a huge difference in the amount and quality of intel available. I think the argument there is...it might be that there is a clear failure of intelligence to do something it was supposed to do. But short of closing the borders and closing every airport everywhere, it might be that there just isn't enough available to do anything about a plot of this scale. Its possible everything could have worked exactly the way it should have (yes, you should still conduct an investigation) and the guy still could have gotten the charge onto the plane. And of course all of that was in hindsight. What did the intelligence community know ahead of time? They had a general plot of something that could be done. No specifics. No names. No dates. Just like this one.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) Spencer Ackerman discusses to what level this should be considered a failure of the intelligence system. That sounds incredibly familiar. That is almost exactly the scenario of the before and after of 9/11. We had some vague information regarding some ideas, and possibilities, but nothing concrete.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) Ditto universal healthcare, welfare, war on drugs, war on poverty, guns, etc. Airline security? Forget it, how many people died in crashes last year? US defense? Why bother, when was the last time we were attacked? Measels? Mumps? Chicken Pox? No one dies from that, quit paying for the vaccines. How many people died because of a bank? Don't need them either, close it down.
  6. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Well to close off this years catch all I decided to get in an accident on the Dan Ryan with a Semi truck and totaled my car. Glad to be alive folks. Nothing but bumps and bruises but I thank God it wasnt way worse cause I thought I was a dead man. Wow. Glad to hear you are OK!

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) http://www.collegehumor.com/article:1796743 That was good stuff. It needed some Ben though.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) It was no worse than anything with Rose and Bernard, Ms. Cleo, the other tail survivors, or any other number of worthless characters the show introduced for no important reason. Their failure there was that they didn't set that up in the beginning and it was just odd that they suddenly thrusted background folk to speaking folk. And really, I thought they way that the killed them off was pretty clever (even if it didn't really fit in the show). They at least have important connections into the main storyline. Those two completely meant nothing to the show.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) It's the only episode I've never seen. Skipped over it and haven't looked back. Don't bother. It was horrible and worthless.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) Season Three was by far my least favorite. When I first watched seasons 1-4 online, season three took me like a month where the other 3 lasted about two weeks combined. I will say this much... The Nikki and Paulo episode was the worst in the show's history, by a country mile. God that was horrible.
  11. New Year's Day is right around the corner after all.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) In a word, Size. Everything is smaller with a netbook. Size, power, price, memory. QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) A netbook is nothing more than a small, light weight laptop that is designed for internet access and little else. Of course, today's netbooks probably have more power than my 4 year old laptop. Cool. Thanks. I was thinking about getting something to do audio editing for a radio show, so I probably should go with something that has some RAM to it, huh?
  13. It trailed only the LeBron playoff buzzer beater against Orlando, and the #1 of Santonio Holmes TD catch in the Super Bowl.
  14. Dumb question.. what is the difference between a netbook and a laptop?
  15. It would be a couple different ones... with my Dad, there was the game back in the early to mid 80's where Harold Baines hit a three run, walkoff homer against Dan Quiseberry, when he was the Mo Rivera of closers. The whole park when crazy. The Harold chant went on in the park, the councourses, the walkways, and even onto the streets. It was just awesome. For my kids it would be their first game, and sharing all of the experiences with them.
  16. Happy Birthday!!!
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) For the past several years, I always get the new White Sox calendar, but think I want to rebel and get something different. I used to get any one Jenny McCarthy put out bak in the day. What should I get? And No! No puppies or kittens! Puppies AND kittens!
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) Supposedly the Tigers have some interest. RF is a pretty short porch at Comerica.
  19. Pity he had to lose, oh wait, no it isn't!!!

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) I should go back an watch Season 2. I think that was my favorite season of them all, which is odd, because most people think it was the worst and the season where most viewers stopped watching. Three has actually been my favorite, and then five. The very first scene of three set the whole tone, which was awesomeness.
  21. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) It's snowing again. The finger of god is setting up to be in play from today until at least Thursday. They are talking about periods of time with two inches of snow... PER HOUR

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Ditto. I go to www.SL-LOST.com all the time in hopes of new promos and junk like that as long as there are NO spoilers. I have accidently read some spoilers though, but won't hinder my enjoyment. I haven't looked at anything new, but going back and watching the previous years with hindsight has been awesome.
  23. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Am I hearing this right, there are people on this board that would be happy if tomorrow KW traded TCQ to Oakland straight up for Chris Carter? QUOTE (SockMe @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) haha TCQ with 69 of 72 votes 3 to be exact.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Anyone else just completely lose interest in this show? I dunno what it is, but I've gone from serious mental issues with liking the show (thinking about it most of the work day, reading the various websites, devoting RSS feed space to the summaries after each episode, etc) to being very disinterested and unexcited about its return. My fiance continues to be obsessed, and she's asked me about 15 times in the last 2 weeks to watch an old episode with her, but I just can't do it. We sat through the first episode from Season 5 two nights ago (I did promise to watch the whole season to get ready for the premiere), but I dunno, it didn't do anything for me. I'm not sure what to think. Maybe having the new and final episodes to watch will bring it back. Not in the least. I am getting more excited by the day.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) Really? You don't think the "did you lock a kid up in a closet as punishment for getting a concussion" question is going to be a drag on recruiting? Many other coaches seem to do just fine, look at how long Bobby Knight kept winning.
